      Haha I actually buy kale. I add it to salad,and sandwiches,there’s a soup it’s in too but I don’t remember. My son & his dad won’t really eat any veggies or fruit so I didn’t ever make them when I cook for us as a family but it was ruining my mental & physical health so I just use them for myself for other meals & snacks.

    Once listened to a guy from some island way up north of Scotland and a guy with a DEEP Minnesotan accent from somewhere up by the Canadian border have a conversation. Both spoke English, I speak English. I Didn't understand 4 words. They kinda bonded without knowing what the other one was really saying and "communicated" telepathically. Very interesting how far you can contort the English language.

      My family is from northern Arkansas and nobody executes (choose your own definition of 'execute'...lol) the English language like a hillbilly! I've always said that if the queen (King now, I suppose) ever visited my family in Arkansas, they'd understand her but she would be baffled by "we'ens gon hed on down o'yonder t' d' wa-mar.' lol

    I was raised in NYC. I left the concrete jungle and moved to Wisconsin in 2017. The Midwestern culture has really won me over, accent and all ❤️

      I left Wisconsin 23 years ago and you can still hear my accent when I say certain words or if I'm yelling.
      I'm also still ridiculously friendly and helpful to strangers searching for something in the grocery store or anyone needing a jump start (my only talent in regards to car trouble.)

    I grew up in Wisconsin and lived all over the US after the age of 16 teen. I've taken so much grief from folks for being overly friendly. I've not been back to the Midwest for years and only get a taste of it when I meet other people from the Midwest here in So Cal. It's funny because we find one another, we're the only ones willing to start a conversation with a stranger. I often wonder in this world of young folk who have such anxiety with social interaction if the Midwest kids escaped that?

      While living in Boston I smiled and said hello to a strangers. Other people would say, "You can't do that." I ignored them. Strangers smiled and returned the greeting. That makes me think that there is hope for those outside of the midwest.

    When I first got an Iphone with Siri about seven years ago, I had the same problem. Coming from, and living in, Rapid River, MI (Escanaba Michigan’s finest suburb), I found that Siri and I had problems communicating. I had to switch Siri into German (my second language) to communicate effectively. Oh Gad!

    I know this is a late comment, but this had me laughing. We need one of those for East Texas/NW La. It could be Billie Sue or Bobby Wayne and would understand things like, "What's that place that sells boudin in Natchitoches?" or "Where can I buy a hog trap locally?" or "Is the snake that just fell in my boat on Lake Bistineau a cottonmouth or just a water-snake?"

    Not to be all sappy, and I don’t know if you even read these comments, but these videos have been such a gift to my depression during quarantine. I have binged so many, and sent them on to family, former coworkers from Midwest, etc. Thank you, Charlie, for producing genuinely funny content that makes the isolation a little more tolerable.

    I love it that it calls family and friends for answers. That's exactly what we used to have to do all the time! It kept us connected with a strong network. I think this is a great app feature which should be developed.

    I find it interesting that this Wisconsin/Minnesota accent is considered the Midwestern accent since most people in the Midwest don’t actually talk like this (there are several Midwestern accents. The one featured here makes me, a Missourian, think of the Midwestern states which border Canada…North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, parts of Michigan and Illinois, but not everyone in those states talks that way…)
    That said, I found this hilarious!😂🤣😂👏👏👏

      Fellow Missourian here. If you have friends who are native to urban St Louis, they will usually have like 25% of a sort of Chicago/Milwaukee lilt. I grew up in Central MO and my family and I all say "ope."

      In Illinois, we do not speak like this, now. I do remember relatives talking like this when I was a kid, 60 years ago. This delicious piece of Americana is being preserved in Wisconsin and Minnesota, thank goodness.

    I knew three brothers that moved to Kentucky from Manitowoc.

    I live in Ashwaubenon and it is amazing how many times you need to repeat it to someone on the phone, or having to pronounce it for someone who sees it spelled out but not said. Even worse is Oconomowoc.

      Menomonie wasn't so bad, but has it's issues as well. Like, telling folks not from here to be careful to spell it right or they'll get the MI one, or Menomonie Falls or somethin. Funny thing is that my mom is from Milwaukee & by the time she was an adult ( and moved here as a teacher ) her parents had moved out to the family lake home on Lake 5 ( Colgate, WI ) - nearest real town is ( or was ) Menomonie Falls.

      People have trouble with Ocono? It's just like it sounds, with all O's - I could see people getting confused about the vowels following the n or m, because we say them as a schwa, but not much else.

    The only problem is that's more Northern Midwest. I grew up in Central Illinois but went to high school in Wisconsin. Heard of that in Wisconsin almost verbatim, never heard it in Illinois or Missouri
