In this episode, John will juice WHOLE, uncut pineapple, and WHOLE uncut ginger in both juicers so you can learn if these juicers will be able to handle these more difficult juicing tasks.
First, you will learn how you can save 10% off either of these juicers right now, so you can lose weight, and get healthy for this new year.
You will also learn HOW you should cut pineapple and ginger properly so the juicer will juice without issue.
Next, John will weigh the pineapple and ginger to ensure this is a fair comparison.
Next, John will juice a whole pineapple to see if the juicers are successful in juicing them uninterrupted.
Finally, John will juice WHOLE ginger, which is NOT recommended, because it can clog and jam the juicer and cause the machine to clog up.
You will learn if the Nama J2 or the Kuvings Auto10 were better able to handle these tasks.

I don’t understand why more people are not watching your videos you definitely are the best authority on juicing and jucing machines
Thank You. I appreciate that alot!
Because i don"t understand english Wel and i have no time for read the tile in french traduction
The videos are too long. He can edit and be much less wordy.
I originally purchased the Kuvings Auto10, then returned it. Happy to now be be TEAM NAMA J2. I think John summarized it well, even in his previous head-to-head comparisons. This design is new to Kuvings, but Nama has had 2 years to fine tune their design. Look at the final output of juice. This is a no-brainer and I love that he pushed them both to the limit to see what would happen. Great job, John!!
I totally agree with you Nama, all the way kuvings also have prop 65 warning!!
@@mikewilson9812 - I’m not sure about the Prop 65 warning, I thought it was for something used in the internal build of the base, but I don’t know for certain. John would be able to elaborate. I will say that so far, the Customer Service at Nama is the best I’ve ever experienced first hand. Nice to know if the 15 year warranty is ever needed, you can reach someone quickly! Happy juicing!!!
I have never juiced gingers only but I have been using many kinds of juicers for many years because I juice every day. I have both A10 and J2. I bought J2 a year ago and recently bought A10. If you use both of them, I can say you would use the A10 most often. Definitely, the bigger hopper gives you more convenience and ease of use. The more often you juice, the bigger the difference will be. A10 is the winner for me without hesitation.
@@Brooks2275 - that’s awesome!! Without a doubt, they each (Kuvings A10 and the Nama J2) have their strengths. They say the best juicer is the one you will use, so KUDOS for having the best of both worlds! 👍🏼😎
I should sent it back. I definitely thought about it.

Thank you so much for showing and explaining how to properly cut the produce. I look forward to many happy years with my j2!!
I haven't had any problems juicing ginger in my Kuvings REVO830 since I had it, and I LOVE IT!❤
I don't understand about this ginger thing being a problem....I put Ginger ...WHOLE BEETS and Carrots in the A10 and have had Zero problems.....My Nama J2 parts constantly be breaking and that was a problem for me
Thank you so much John. I was going to purchase the Kuvings but after this review I think I am going to go with the NamaJ2. Please keep making more content, your reviews are definitely very helpful and appreciated.
Awesome! I’m purchasing the Jama2 using your code! Im an old Omega juicer and it gets so time consuming chopping and feeding into the chute. Thank you!
Criminally underrated channel. I LOVE JUICE! DECIDED TO JUICE BECAUSE I'M POOR! Can't afford to pay $10 for a bottle of juice every time. Save so much money juicing and live better too.
Exactly, your smart. Good job keep up 🎉the good
John: this was a comprensive, excellent review i thank you very much ❤
Thanks! Discount Juicer guy for doing this juice test. I'm purchasing the Nama J2 for sure. Thanks!
Thank you for your honest comparison..I am lookin to pull the trigger on a new juicer and this test will help me make a sound choice and I will be sure to use your coupon code to support your great content
Just bought my auto10 2 days ago can’t wait!
Very Interesting. I use my Auto10 everyday and have never had a clog
Your discount code still works. Thank you just ordered my J2!
Please how bfoni use or purchase this am based in Africa Nigeria, how do I get it I want to start incorporating this in my diet as my husband died of cardiac arrest just two years ago in the church on a Christmas day infant it's still hurting me .
Waiting on my Nama J2 right now. This made me even more excited!
I purchased the Nama J2 a year ago. I cut all of veggies/fruit prior to putting it in the hopper. I am SO HAPPY WITH MY NAMA J2. I have left ginger whole & it can clog the Nama, but I all fairness I also had celery in chunks also fiberous
I juiced a lot of ginger on the auto 10, stopped from time to time, but it juiced the whole bowl
I juice and make ginger/tumeric/pineapple shots in my auto 10 every 3 days and I have zero issues. It works like a charm!
You’re slicing the ginger yeh?
Are you cutting the pineapple and slicing the ginger?
Good to know
Which juicer so you use?
Exactly.
You're awesome. Love your videos, thank you for sharing. Will purchase the NAMA today.
you are the absolute best! thanks for all of your help
I have Kuvungs 3 years ago and it was the latest at that time EVO820CG. I have RA & weak wrist. I love to juice veggies, my problem is it gets stuck & hard to disassemble. I MEANT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO DISASSEMBLE. I paid i believe $700.
The Prep is so time consuming & of course the DISASSEMBLING!
SO I'm looking for the less time all in all and reliable one.
Thank u for all ur hardwork! 😊
I knew that the Nama J2 would take home the Win 🥇
it’s a definite Rock Star 💫
Great video! Thank you!
This is so useful to me. Subscribed!
I always learn something from you in every video! I’m waiting to get the larger bowl which will fit my Nama J2 base! So excited!!! Will you be doing a video on it when it’s released?
YES, it should be available next month!! I can't wait myself!
@@discountjuicersthis awesome. Do you have any idea when it will be ready I'm the uk John?
A larger bowl?? I didn't know this was even happening,, I was hoping they'll make a bigger bowl to hold more fruit and veg
Very informative , thank you
This was so entertaining, especially with the ginger
You videos are so informative and helpful. And you are right, there is no one like you - that goes to the extents and details as you do. Really appreciate you!
I juice pineapple with my auto 10 and work fine. Love my auto 10 with bigger hopper
You da best, John. Thank you for helping me change my life for the best.
Glad you made this video but I do everything you don't recommend, I juice ginger whole in my nama J2 and was fortunate to never have it clogged, i did have the same issue with the pineapple though 😔
Of course, your results may vary. That being said for best results precut the ginger. The one time it does clog, and you can't get the juicer apart, it will not be fun! The J2 only stopped once on me, and it was possible it wouldn't stop. That being said, I show exactly what happens when juicing in my videos.
My Kuvings A10 order is still on back order, I’m seriously temped to cancel my order and just go with Nama J2. I like that it has worked out the bugs and will soon have a 3 liter option. Nana J2 $550 price is much better than Kuvings A10 $699.
Don't get the J2 get the Kuvings.
Nama J2 it is for me….. the ginger juicing was my deciding factor
Just ordered my Nama j2!
What’s your favorite juicer for cabbage? Cause I noticed the Nama J2 has a little bit of an issue with cabbage, just takes forever to grind it all up
I ordered the auto10. Im glad it has a safety feature to shut off when it gets clogged up. But I will always chop as you have instructed to do for both machines. My only issue with Kuvings is I ordered mine on Mothers day 2024 & a wk now they have not shipped it to me yet~
Weird, I normally juice twice the amount of organic whole ginger per batch and my J2 never gets clogged 😊
I think the divots on the J2 help prevent jams. Kind of similar to a granton blade on a knife.
Hey John, Happy New Year, i'm a newbie, curious to know, howcome there are no reviews/videos for Angel juicers ?
I do not promote nor recommend the Angel juicer, because of my past experience with them. It is a long story, and I made a video sharing my story. Instead of making it right (I prepaid for $3k in juicers which they never sent me). they sent a lawyer after me to make me take the video down). I do not agree with companies that operate their business in this way, no matter how good or bad the juicer is. I do not recommend them, and recommend the Green Star 5 Juicer which is also a dual gear juicer and tribest is an honest company. czcams.com/video/NQFnlHxfPIA/video.html
The optional large Nama J2 hopper is $100 bringing it to within $50 of the Kuvings Auto10 in price. The 2 quart Nama J2 hopper is plenty big enough for me.
I use my my greenstar for straight ginger and the Auto 10 for simple juices
Has nama fixed the issues of plastic parts breaking in the j2 from johns past video? Great video overall, this will help Kuvings further improve their next Auto release. Kuvings is still the gold standard in terms of quality for regular juicers and vacuum blenders and to be fair, Kuvings didn't engineer the Auto10 for this torture test, like you said ginger is supposed to be precut per the Auto10 instructions. So this test was outside of the engineering scope of the machine.
YES. Nama re-tooled at the factory to improve all parts that were not as strong as they should have been. Yes, while I admit this torture test (that I recommend NOT be done), is not normal operating procedure, many customers (like me) dont read the directions and will just throw things into the juicer, and expect it to work. If they do this on the Nama, it will still work, but if they do this on the kuvings it is likely to not work, I believe Nama took more care in the design and engineering of their machine, especially because they have had 2 years of the machine being out on the market and analyzing customer feedback and warranty claims to improve the machine so it has the least problems.
@discountjuicers Thanks for your honest opinion and all you do for the juicing community John! Happy New Year my friend!
Which is better for making sauce from my home grown tomatoes? Thanks
I'm glad I got my Nama J2 and still going strong. The Kuvings seems to falter.
Hey which one of these will be the best for commercial use 🤔
What brand/type of knife is that? It looks like it is sharp - I need something like that for cutting tougher vegetables.
Man I just tried juicing pineapple with my angel juicer. I cutted it totally the wrong way, opposite to you lol, and it was a horror show to juice it. I will try the right way and hope it goes better. Thanks for the advice ;)
I need to know where did you get that knife?
Yeah! That sana 727 is a beast. Very happy to own one.
Practical the Nama J2 is better than the Kuvings Auto 10. For the moment I still think the Centrifugal Juicer is faster and convinces if you juice in daily basis. Very good experiment John.
Best juice 🥤 reviewer in the planet 🌍
Hi John, been watching you for ages even though I've never bought a juicer and neither am I into juicing. I just love the content you put out... I'd like to suggest a test that I haven't seen on your channel. Can you do a video on which juicer is best at juicing just the peels... Apple peel would be a good test subject I feel. Please pit the Pur Juicer against vertical/horizontal/twin gear juicers. It'd be a lot of work I am sure but it'd be a fun test I think. My money's on the twin gear but hell... Let's find out!
Juicing only apple peels (no fruit) would be an interesting video for sure. I probably would add some water (or other liquid) to a vacuum blender, and then add the peels and vac blend, then use Alexas nut milk bag. Apple skin is particularly difficult for most juicers to grind effectively. The pure grinder would prob do the best, but the cost is all the oxygen added during the process. So Vacuum juicing for the win! Honestly, I purchase apple peel powder and add that usually to my breakfast oatmeal/grain bowl.
@@discountjuicers thank you! Do you still use slow juicers at all or have you moved exlusively to vacuum juicing?
@@taimuramin8534 While vacuum juicing is best, and if I didn't have a job or other things I had to do, I would do it 100%, but it is not practical when I have many things to do in the day. During the pandemic, I basically only vacuumed juiced, for the nutrition, and food was scarce. These days, I use the Nama J2, and generally, rejuice my pulp and call it a day.
@@discountjuicers what do you mean rejoice your pulp?
Great video, John. Thank you 😊 What brand of knife are you using in this video? I like how it cuts the fruit effortlessly 😊
Kyocera Micro serrated. All my fav products including knife is easily available at www.amazon.com/shop/johnkohler
Thank you very much 😊
Cool thank you
Do you have a release date for the J2 3 liter hopper? You mentioned a month and a half, but this video is a month old now. I'm hoping it's very soon! That bigger hopper on the Auto10 WAS the deciding factor for me until seeing this... 🙃.
The J2 3L hopper is now available! Watch czcams.com/video/wh0yfLC2_90/video.html where I unbox the 3L hopper and other accessories now available.
tryna decide nama j2 or auto 10 some say auto 10 still has pulp in juice but I like that it makes almond milk or nut milk & sorbate and has better cleaning
Thank you for the video. I am very happy with my best juicer Sana727. So I am waiting for Sana make a slow, vertical now.
Sana *does* make vertical, single-auger slow juicers. I prefer the Sana 727 horizontal, horizontals are just SO easy to clean!
@@GrayHomeVideoHave you juice batched. Luv my Sana 727.
@@donaldricher8815 No, I'm more of a fresh juice gal. But sometimes I make enough so hubby can have some when he gets home. I really love the Sana! SO easy to clean and the juice is so good, too!
If I order using your discount, does it still come with the warranty and all the bells and whistles of purchasing it from the manufacturer website? Also I can return if something crazy/weird happens? Just don’t want any surprises, hassles, or gimmicks.
YES, when you use my coupon code DEPENDABLE on the nama web site namawell.com/products/nama-j2-cold-press-juicer?ref=discountjuicers you get the full 15 year warranty. Nama does have offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee trial period. I have heard of very few people returning the machine after they get it, if they are serious about making health changes.
That is so true the sana 727 supreme is the greatest on ginger
Does the Revo830 use the same base as the auto10? And if so can you purchase the hopper separately without having to purchase the motor base again?
No. It does not. See czcams.com/video/zd8hqZ4twuw/video.html for a full comparison.
Does ginger needs to be presoaked to soften the fibers
How about the vertical horum compared to Nama? Since they are made by the same manufacturer?
I compare the latest H400 to J2 at czcams.com/video/7r4-8Yi_9U8/video.html
H310 vs J2 at czcams.com/video/-bJKEt56j4M/video.html
H300 vs J2 at czcams.com/video/-kh0EDAmDEw/video.html
H200 vs J2 at czcams.com/video/pmIV4v9xaMQ/video.html
My summary: While the hurom may be easier to clean, they have a 2 yr parts warranty, whereas the j2 has a 15 yr warranty on all parts. furthermore, generally the screenless huroms generally put more pulp into the juice, and earlier versions make less yield, the latest ones can produce more or less than J2. Also the huroms generally take LONGER to process the same amount of produce and may be more prone to clogging. For these reasons, I personally would purchase the Nama J2 over these hurom models.
Hi John, great test, you're the best, thanks!
But will you please juice about 5lbs or more of whole grapes only...all the juicers I've used/use get clogged... I'd love to see how these juicers preform juicing just grapes.
P. S. I dare you to try straight rhubarb!
@@growingyourgreens Wow that's a great set up for juicing that way and the colour looks awesome... Vacuum blending is the way to go... Thanks for the reply John... I'm going to have to get that blender and bag eventually...its just that I'm going to buy the Nama J2 or Auto 10 soon...or at least I thought I was, now that I saw the linked video you sent me on the vacuum blender bag technique...I'm going to have to think about it and decide what to do.
Honestly, slow juicers can clog/jam when juicing softer fruits. The issue is the texture. If you get HARD and firm grapes that have seeds, they will juice better in a slow juicer. That being said, I recommend not wasting your time using a slow juicer to juice grapes, use my vacuum juicing technique that will work the BEST every single time with grapes. See czcams.com/video/VqRwk_dtjPA/video.html
Hi John. Between the Nama J2 and the Hurmon, which one do you reconmend and why? Thank you.
I personally would purchase the J2 over the hurom models, H200, H300, H310, and H400 that I have tested in my other videos. Main reason:15 yr warranty on PARTS and motor of J2 vs Hurom has 2 yr warranty on parts and 10 years on motor. So you have a 7.5x longer warranty on the J2. In my tests overall the J2 juices with less hassle, and generally puts less pulp in the juice. I believe it to be a better designed machine.
@@discountjuicers thank you so much John for your well-thought and detailed response!
John, could you please tell me the length of the j2 Nama when all the carafes are in place? The only place I can set this up is on my glass top stove. Thanks!
Its 16" total length if the catch cups are placed the narrow direction (sideways)
@@discountjuicers Thank you. I have one on the way around the 17th. I have had a Breville Juice Fountain Elite for about 13 years. I really love it but want to try slow juicing.
What brand of knife is he using to cut the pineapple 🍍?
John Help !! i had the gasket of the Nama 2 disappeared in my huge compost , i tried ti find it but did not succeed, so my question is : Is the gasket necessary to juicing ? i tried and did not notice any difference. I live in Ecuador and the gasket is cheap 5$ but the sending is 20$.. By the way i love my nama 2 !!
which gasket was it? where the pulp comes out?? That is not NECESSARY for juicer operation, but you will get a lower yield. I might recommend ordering like 6 gaskets as the shipping would still be around $20 so you have spares should you loose them again.
Thanks John ,great idea !!@@discountjuicers
How is nama j for juicing celery? Clog or no clog? Do you have to cut the celery into small pieces.
The Nama J2 can juice celery just fine.
See: czcams.com/video/MZ9Slkqukog/video.html where i load up max length celery into the j2 hopper to see how it does with minimal cutting.
See czcams.com/video/L77lEb1F2G0/video.html for how I juice 5 heads of celery without an issue.
I’m going plant base. I’m swallowing my cheap blender vibe and buy this Nama J2
I have to do this
John you are the best
Thank you for the video do you know how much nama 3 l Hopper price range would be around close to 600 close to 800
Final pricing on the Nama 3L hopper is not set yet. I believe it should be around $80-$100 is my "best guess" but don't hold me too it.
Thank you you're thinking that it might be 80 through 100.00 more as in the number to or the one with the blender?
Im new here i want to buy my first juicer . Which one you recommend me ? Can i have it in UK ?
It really depends on your specific needs. My current favorite juicer is the Nama J2 which is the best seller in the USA, You can purchase the UK version of the Nama J2 at namawell.com/collections/nama-j2-international/products/nama-j2-united-kingdom-model?ref=discountjuicers and apply coupon code DEPENDABLE for a 10% discount.
How does Goodnature juicer stack up to others?
I have the Nama J2, Kuvings Auto10. I must say I made ginger shots in the J2 awhile ago, but precut it first. Just the thought of the juicer jamming on me if I put it in whole frightened me. That is why at that time I chose to cut it. Nevertheless It handle it like a champ. I have not put the ginger in the Auto10 & thank goodness I haven't & don't think I will. Besides that top on the Auto10 is not secured enough for my liking. That top is very flimsy. Nevertheless I like both machines
which juicer it's much better overall ? between auto 10 and nama j2 . I undecided , please I'm new into juicing , let me know . Thanks
@@noubissidavid3294Research the Sana 727. It's awesome and super easy to clean unlike Nama.
Does the pulp for every fruit you juice come out dry with the NAMA?
NO. Pulp dryness varies, Depending on WHAT you are juicing in the Nama J2 as well as other SLOW JUICERS.. If pulp dryness is paramount then buy a Pure Juicer or do Vacuum juicing like I show: czcams.com/video/eEPQ8tuPQV4/video.html
Can you juice coconut milk with Auto 10 ? I know with j2 is possible .
Im new into juicing
Please let me know
Thank you
Yes, the Kuvings auto10 can make nut milk. I do recommend using fresh instead of dry coconut.
Both of those juicers are nice but Im on team Hurom H400😊
I am still using my Slowstar! Discount Juicers all the way!
Has anyone found a Kuvings cleaning tool (the green brush thing) on ally express or temu yet? I know someone has to have made one for the Nama J2 by now. Or a universal one that works with most juicers with the same auger and parts.
Which budget Masticating juicer would you recommend?
Depends on what you are juicing and the factors that are important for you to have in a juicer.
Ummm, were the pineapple weighed to ensure equally distribution?
Yes, they both weighed exactly the same (731) same with the ginger.
I had both and sent the auto10 back for a refund...the nama J2 is much better in my opinion
What makes the Nama better?
Hey John
I've been watching videos of the nama j2 and so far no one juices carrots and beets or anything hard
Will it juice harder produce
I have had the Nama j2 juicer for over a year and I still love it. I batched juice the other night and made 3 juices.
1st juice- big carrots, 2 oranges, 2 apples, 2 grapefruit, mandarins, & turmeric.
2nd juice- 4 large big beets, carrots, apples, baby watermelon, mixed berries and bing cherries.
3rd juice- an entire family sized package of baby spinach, 3 bunches of regular kale, 3 bunches of dark green Tuscan kale, 2 large cucumbers, celery, 2 bunches of parsley, green apples, grapes, honeydew melon, lemon and fresh ginger.
No issues at all with juicing harder produce!
This video: I juice 10 quarts of HARD produce as this is my ROOT juice focused around root veggies!
czcams.com/video/JZtKJiSiZtI/video.html
In this video I juice 6 pounds of organic carrots straight! czcams.com/video/J5J3pNH1nno/video.html
Please I need to buy juicer tortillas where help!!!
This happened to me when i was bulk juicing a week ago my nama had clogged up
What was the specific recipe you were juicing? I recommend to precut certain items so it has the LEAST possibility of clogging/jamming the juicer.
I did a pineapple, orange & papaya with ginger and turmeric the pineapple fibers was jammed so I took it apart and cut the pineapple into small chunks and I no longer had that issue
I took my Nama apart to get the fibers out of the part where the pulp comes out and then I put it back together to finish juicing and I didn’t have that problem once I had cut the pineapples into small chunks
I don’t skin the pineapple in the J2
Please try it with the 830
If you put ginger in the auto-cutting feed chute of the 830, it should precut it and work significantly better.
think god I just order the J2
No, don't put the entire pineapple in the Nama J2. Why tax the machine unnecessary? I put in chunks of lemons, oranges, etc.
Are these better than Omega juicers?
I personally would say yes. I did compare the Nama J2 against Omega's Effortless Juicer at czcams.com/video/aqPVaMjIsUg/video.html
Is it possible to make coconut milk with the Nama J2?
YES. See czcams.com/video/kkEC4XcHBYk/video.html
I purchased the kuvings auto 10 and while juicing carrots and nut milk there is a high pitch squeaking sound from the juicer. Has anyone else experienced this? I have no idea why it does this.
Are the juicing parts squeeking or the motor base? if the motor base, that is a problem, and not right.
If it is the juicer parts, it is common sometimes for juicer parts to squeek depending on what is being juiced. I would need to see/hear what is going on to be sure.
Yes! It happened to me as well. I contacted Kuvings and it appears it's an issue with the hopper. They sent out a replacement hopper within 24 hours. Go to their site and submit a ticket for support or call the 800# - they will take care of it.
I am writing this after struggling for 30 minutes to put this juicer together after washing it, my third time using it. I have been juicing for 40 years. After listening to my son, I decided to purchase this Kuvings auto 10, he is a first time juicer. I pay just over 1200 canadian including duties, crazy crazy . This is what I am going to do after I am done here , I am going to place this so called beautiful juicer into a box and store it until the day I toss it out. FACT.
I mashed the like and got kicked out of the live chat?

What juicer do you recommend for making soy milk?
I had a customer use the Nama J2 to make soy milk, however, the Nama j2 was not designed to make soy milk, and I haven't tested that function. I would likely recommend a dedicated soy milk maker that heats the soybeans and grinds them all in one step.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE NAMA J2 NO MATTER IF IS CUT THE PINEAPPLE UP SMALL OR LARGE IT STILL JAMS AND WASTE A LOT OF PRODUCE
IT'S SO FRUSTRATING, BECAUSE I HAVE CONTACTED NAMA A FEW TIMES FOR THIS SAME ISSUE WITH CUCUMBERS AS WELL AND ALL THAT THEY SUGGEST DOES NOT WORK
Sorry to hear about your experience juicing in the Nama J2. Juicing pineapples & cucumber and other fruits can be challenging for EVERY slow juicer. Sometimes it can work much better and sometimes not as good, which depends on several factors:
1. Design - vertical juicers BEST handle softer fruits than ALL other types of slow juicers.
2. The QUALITY of the produce. If your produce is old, soft and limp, it will not juice well in a slow juicer. I recommend you purchase HARD and firm produce for the best results. A soft pineapple will ALWAYS not juice as well as one that is REALLY hard and firm. Select more UNRIPE (green, firm) pineapples, and it will work much better.
3. Juice with the skin ON whenever possible, the skin has lots of fiber and nutrition and gives the juicer more TEXTURE to work with so it can work better.
4. VARIETY matters. Choosing the right variety of produce can make or break you. Juicing marketmore cucumbers (standard ones sold as "cucumbers" in the USA8 wont really juice well due their softer texture, they mush instead of juice. So purchase ENGLISH cucumbers, the long ones wrapped in plastic. Make sure they are HARD and FIRM and not soft and mushy. You can also select BABY cucucumbers, that are also HARD,FIRM and CRISP that will work a lot better than marketmore cucumbers
5. Juice it with Other items. When juicing softer fruits alone all slow juicers can struggle. If you juice them with cubed up jicama or other root veggie, it will work much better, as I show czcams.com/video/8XU82WLyX3E/video.html
Hope this tips help so you can better juice these items in your nama j2.
