Mom, don't be skirting the truth for your Straight A son. I can tell that your're used to making excuses for him but I do admire that he corrected you on a couple of things. It's necessary to support him but let him deal with the consequences of his actions. That's the greatest gift you can give him.
Or he will be in and out of jail the rest of his life.
I told my two kids who are adults now that you were taught right from wrong when they got there drivers licenses .I bought then both used cars and got them there own insurance policy and made them get a job after school to pay for there insurance and cell phone bills which I got them for security while driving.
I told them you get in trouble with the law don't use your one phone call to call me because you've been taught right from wrong your first 16 yrs of life.
I guess they listened because I never had an issue with the law from either child.
You have to show strength and dissappear your kids which is what's wrong with them today.the family unit is shattered. Kids do things they should never be allowed to do and live to tell about it.kidding of coarse .but you have to be tough yet show them love and support also.
Tough love will teach kids what they need to get through life.
Families need to keep track of there kids .where they at what are you doing .be home by 8 pm do your chores your homework and get good grades
It's really that simple .disabling is everything from a very young age.

@@gene8172 I don't know about RI, but in CA, PD's and court appointed always try to "make a deal." Sometimes not always in the best interest of the client. I have been witness to this first hand in CA.

Kid??? This guy is in his 20's and dang well knew what he was doing. It is quite obvious that he fled after getting pulled over because he had Marijuana in his car. I highly doubt they pulled him over because they smelled marijuana. He was going the wrong way on a one way street. It is also apparently obvious that from the police report this guy was trying evade the police for some reason. Probably bought marijuana and from not an upstanding person.
Hence why they were probably following him and when he did screw up it gave them cause .

@@ryan8374 Except if you are going to turn a small matter into a big one, nobody is getting anything good from it. I think the police wanted to catch a "junkie" and stopped him without a valid reason, whereas he was in the wrong by just going away. Just fine him symbolically for driving away and give a warning. There are real criminals out there.
