I'm a dude in my mid 50s, and just became familar with Tori Kelly when she was on American Idol last week...I was super impressed with her on that show, and now have been listening to her new album and other older ones, and I must say - I haven't heard a voice like this in a LONG time. It's like if Whitney Houston and Pat Benetar had a baby. Tori is clearly a master technican with her instrument, but what puts her into the next stratosphere is her edgy grit and heart-on-your-sleeve SOUL. One of the best vocalists I've ever heard in my life.
I've been following her since she was 11 years old on a singing competition .... she blew me away, and I'm a singer, and not many people make me feel like she does when she sings.
Nah I won't take it away from Tori, she has worked her ass off day in and day out to be able to sing the way she does. It's certainly a gift, but 90% of it is grinding and pushing and working HARD.

Especially because I have read about how crazy Hollywood is… red flags everywhere! Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. But I feel like Tori is different and she could have “changed” things.
