Most likely the police had an idea that something else was really going on from the first couple of days of the investigation.
Stating that these men were of no interest (and quite possibly, they aren't - despite what people would like to believe, they have been interviewed... yet still names and photos have been leaked. They aren't suspects). People are so angry that they were allowed to return home without knowing any of the details or how these things work.
This is often the case - even among those who are suspected of something - in order to see what they do next and who they communicate with.
People very often make mistakes when their guard is down and they feel they are in the clear.

If British people didnt normalise drug use in the UK and abroad when it is illegal, situations like this would not happen. Drugs destroy lives, if you have an addiction seek help from AA. as someone who deals with security on moblie devices i can tell you that they're not trying hard enough with regards to finding his phone. They keep talking about this "ping" but the phone was dead at that point which means its pinged OFF other devices. Was one of those devices lucy's or brads? its important to get hold of apple and obtain that information because it won't of just pinged once in 8 hours. it will ping EVERYTIME someone with a apple devices goes within 50 feet of it leaving a bread crumb trail of location data

Even if a battery is 'dead' it can still ping it's location every 30 mins for two weeks unless the sim has been snapped and/or is underwater, or in a cave that would block the signal, why did he go back to that flat? All of this does not add up.

What was the purpose behind a photograph taken of Jay’s legs, feet, cigarette and lighter in hand, standing on the top step of the Airbnb. What message was it sending, because it’s not a selfie, not a picture of happy people, not a picture of the dramatic mountain scenery, it’s not exactly clear why take and post on snapchat such an image? If you’re possibly trying to escape say from two men why would you use the very road that goes back from where you were taken? If you managed to escape, would you not walk/run in the opposite direction, knowing that two guys, travelling in their car, would come looking for you. You would not wait at a bus stop! And, as for various phone calls to alleged friends, sorry but I don’t believe it. This would not be possible if Jay did not have ‘his’ phone with him. Jays phone was likely already being disposed off by someone else in the area where Jay’s phone later pinged, before being turned off or the battery died. Checking the personal phones of those involved in this incident will, I am positive, provide clarification as to where all of the ‘players’ were say between 03:00 and 12:00 on the Monday morning. Of course, it appears Jay may have been located by the men, or someone else involved. Again, personal phones would prove or disprove where alleged witnesses were that Monday morning. Another question I have asked for two weeks, is did any taxi driver collect two young people from the hotel where Jay had been staying that Monday morning at about 06:00 and take them into the mountainous area (where Jay’s phone later pinged), and then return the two youths back to the hotel? No allegations here simply checking the whereabouts of all of those involved, normal investigation procedure, check everything. My thoughts are with no-one but Jay.
The people i.e lucy and the third who dealt with jay were professonals...no evidence of foul play exists such as blood, a body etc. And to report him missing will always keep him as a missing persons case just like Madeline McCann. Its seems he was professionally dealt with as he crossed the wrong people. Lucy is he key and i don't think she will crack and snitch to tell the truth. Jays parents need to pressure her and get answers
What about using metal detectors for the phone?? And work round radius of where it pinged as the metals on memory board should attract it ???

This could all be shite but had anysearch team actually done a route from where the property owner saw him walking up the road instead of down, I also stayed previously that the chap she spoke to was actually Brad not Jay

Why did he not charge his phone while he was at the air b&b ? I've been places and needed to charge my phone and I've asked friends while at their house for a charge to charge my phone. Phone makers need to start making phone batteries last longer. The old botton phones last day's to even a week or longer but smart phone batteries don't last long at all.

Smart phone batteries last just as long if not more so than the old Nokia type ones. Smart phones are thrashed everyday by all of us. We spend hours on the flipping things, doing all sorts of things. The Old Nokia style phones, never had any gadgets, so we're only used for calls or texts. That is why their batteries seemed to last a long time!
How growing young guy can disappear and nobody know anything about
regardless, he is an 19 year old boy, he is missing.. its a terrible situation . all you people who are making comments almost as if he deserves what ever has happened to this young man based on his past , its disgusting , put yourselves in his family's position , for a parent it is the most horrific thing you could go through not knowing where your child has disappeared to .

the first reports gave the impression he was just an ordinary young lad on his 1st holiday abroad without his parents & had somehow got into trouble, it only gradually came out that that might not have been true, so perhaps initially the people donating were not fools.

All this about his phone ping. Don’t know the phone he uses, and don’t know the tech of the gps it used, but they probably used triangulation to locate it. If it’s an iPhone more the recent ones, if someone has access to his iCloud, they could possibly get a location while it was off. As it will send the location to his findmy. As for his friend not wanting to do more interviews, or be filmed, she might not be one of those who likes being in the public eye. No one really knows them apart from people in their inner circle.
Funny how the girl and the AirBnb guy are saying different things... She said Jay told them that he was going with these guys, but the guy is saying that Jay's friends deserted him and he had nowhere to go so he went back to theirs.
