My son has autism and sometimes the radio is just too much for him in the car but I told him I wanted to listen to the new song so he said yes. When I paused it to talk to the bank teller told me turn the music back on and go back to the beginning. He was back there smiling kind of humming along and I realized it's because his other favorite song is Misfit Love and this has a very Era vibe to it. Super excited when my son likes one of your songs cuz it's really hard to listen to music in the car with him.
I’m also autistic and I TOTALLY GET how misfit love is his fave and how this one grips his attention as well. Just fires on all cylinders ❤️🔥

That's because of the fuzz and octave effect on it.
The whole song felt very Lullabies to me. It's funny how I feel like you can tie each of the 3 releases to separate albums (this to Lullabies, Carnavoyeur to ...Like Clockwork and ES to Vulgaris). I like them all but each qotsa album so far has a very strong identity, so I'm interested to see what the overarching them of the album will be when I listen tomorrow!
@@steverainingagain7956 off the bat I got self titled vibes tbh, the groovin riff n vocals, but the solo w.fuzz n Oct def has vulgaris/lullabies vibe goin. But again the groovy phrasing reminds me of the If Only solo, but more elaborate.
Ur spot on tho, there's elements of almost all the albums, especially last few incl tcv, so will be very interesting. Loving it so far tho!

Not many bands exist for 25 years and still put out fresh, interesting, exciting and unique music. Most great bands run out of steam within half that timeframe but QOTSA are just consistently excellent and reinvent themselves time and time again.

Not the same genre, but I've found some more "life saving" lyrics by Eyedea and Abilities. Try The Dive pt1 and pt2. The whole First Born Album has saved me.

LOVING THIS! Drumming-wise, this feels like Jon Theodore placing his footprint on a Queens song. Villains was great, but this feels like the Jon Theodore that we all know and love. ITNR is about to be such a great album...Welcome back QOTSA!!!

Jon is an unreal drummer. His drumming on de-loused in the comatorium is arguably the best rock drumming I have heard on an album.
The sound of this album is corrupted, dirty, mean and groove as fuck. I love it.

The album leaked on Sunday, I couldn't resist and listened, don't judge me, it's my favorite band..and everyone who managed to hear the album before, loved it too, lots of positive comments there on reddit, I've been listening to it ever since.. I loved it .

This gives early QOTSA vibes and I'm loving it!
I always start it with high expectations. 1st minute is passing. I'm thinking 'It is good, no complains, but just as I expected. Only 2 and a half minutes left, no time for any crazy progression or change. It's a short song so I'm sure the rest of the album is hiding some more intresting moments'.
But when I finished listening I'm like 'woah! Everything is here!'.
That's how I look at every new queens song haha
I always try to keep my expectations low. 1 second in and I know it's got potential. 4 seconds in and I know it's gonna be one of their best songs. 2 and a half minutes left I'm just holding my breath that they're not gonna water it down somewhere.

You know it's good when you first listen it's catchy but when you go back and REALLY listen it hit's you in a different way, then on the next listen you start to hear different things, that is the sign of a masterpiece on our hands. That sound is called harmonic, it's a pretty common thing for guitar players and it's always cool.

Btw, my comment was not meant to state that what you wrote was wrong, I simply assumed you weren't a guitar player and thought I'd tell you more (from my perspective) about that noise that fascinates you. However we call it, it's a cool sound for sure.
@@spiritualconnection4807 harmonics are obtained by dividing the fretboard evenly. When youre hearing a harmonic that is not on the 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, its mostly just distortion/feedback. I guess you can call it a harmonic. Its not a natural harmonic. Youre not playing that note on an acoustic with any resonance whatsoever. Just my thoughts. Wierd noise ftw
