Just curious what were your thoughts on Jun as a character and her place style?

I'd say she's more defensive, knowledge check character at a certain level, abuse cancan (d3+4), use your plus frames like db3, f4 to move around, randomly throw D1+2 is good too it high crushes and it's safe same for uf2, she has good throws especially df2+3 on stages with breakable floor

@@DRUNKENlei Kankan crush lows nicely but I wouldn't abuse it because it's punishable and very slow. d+1+2 have some crush abilities but also drains your HP like crazy. For neutral b+2,2 is good keepout tool and u/f+3 which on CH gives her best wall carry (combo is 1+4, 1,1,1,1 dash WS2 heat b+3,2 wall u/f+4,3,2). Her biggest asset is FC u/f+1 if you can duck high and when you're near wall because it wallsplats from a million miles, has good dmg and you can follow up with d/f+4 wall u/f+4,3,2 for huge damage.

@@ant_989 cancan is always has been since Tag1 a good panic move and decently fast (14 frame is far from bein super slow) especially in T8, it can't be low parried ( in this game cause it caunts as hopkick ) it's safe with pusback with Jun and if the opponent eats it it's half of his health that is gone with a wall combo, of course you're gonna be launched if they block it but it's a read and in t8 they somehow revert the backdash a bit to tag 2 where if you didnt hold back after a heat move you ll get hit.
UF3 is a good move on paper but slow with all the better mids that are in the game that are eat engagers like Lee, eddy, jin kazuya and many more, that 1+4 combo is definetly not the best optimised combo in a ranked or in a tournament set up you always gonna have to go with something like d+1+2 T!, f+3+4,GEN 4, b+4,2, f,f+2~f,GEN 3>2 or adapt it to a wall combo depending of the stage, i litterally took this from the jun combo doc from their discord.
d1+2/u2 are moves that you won't abuse as much but is good for reads and timings or especially against mishimas for exemple.
There're plenty of videos talking about her neutral and what moves to use but honestly seeing how people doesnt know her even in high level any moves from her move list used wisely can be useful ( like Kirakira does or PTJ ).

@@DRUNKENlei Cankan being good panic move - yes. Abuse it? Absolutely not a good idea. The thing is both hits need to connect to launch so the move is actually slower than 14 frames when you consider the second hit. I'd say use it only if you have good read on your opponent will use low. Pushback won't save you sometimes because there're characters who can punish it even with pushback.
u/f+3 is mostly use to cut the distance so it doesn't matter if it's slow or fast. The main point is its range. You'll be surprised how many people gets CH by it and it gives one of the best (if not the best) wall carry combo for Jun. I already wrote it earlier starting with 1+4. I don't understand what you mean it's not for ranked or tournament? I use it all the time in ranked and it's super consistent, just need to practice. It let's you travel from the starting position to the wall on new beach map. Doesn't really matter to me what discord is saying, I usually test things myself, rather than blindly believe them. The combo from d+1+2 is more for oki setups rather than wall carry because last hit from GEN has very mid wallsplat properties. It's ok for small areas but if you want to travel whole map I don't recommend it. You should always go for WS2, heat b+3,2 ender for wall carry. I also spoke earlier about HP loss from d+1+2. It's only advantage is this weird evasive/trade property which lets you launch or even catch stepping opponent sometimes. I'm not a huge fan.
In general Jun nerf with HP loss even in heat made her less competitive in tournements (that's why pros avoid her in tournaments) so in general I strongly advise avoid kazama power moves unless you're at least 90% sure it'll conect. In short - spamming any kazama power moves = not a good idea.
