  • I install the Weboost basic home cell phone signal booster at our country property. I speed test the upload and download speeds before and after install. The main purpose of adding a signal booster for me was to be able to upload CZcams videos quicker and be able to live stream better. This signal booster should also help anyone using Microsoft teams and ZOOM for online streaming. The basic model Weboost will work with AT&T and Verizon only, you need the Weboost Home for other carriers like Sprint and Us cellular.
    PLEASE READ! The link below WAS the booster used in this video, it seems Weboost has changed the design and I have NOT tested the new design that's now showing. I am providing a link to another video below where I tested another antenna booster that's very affordable.

    Don't think you mentioned this from the ad on Amazon: "PROUDLY AMERICAN - The only booster designed, assembled, and tested in the USA: Our products are not manufactured in China "
    which is a real plus for me.

Also, I’ve got another idea I will email you about. It may not be something you need right now because you have this setup, but I think it would be helpful once you have your house built. Excellent video!

      Thanks Doug! I hope it works well for you. We mostly see the increase in upload speed, but there is a definite improvement in download speed too. We sat in our metal shop streaming music and CZcams at the same time last night. Before that wasn't possible. Not to mention we doubled our bars in the shop too.

    2 things.. you have your roof mounted antenna aiming at the antenna across your ridged roof panels that scatter the incoming signal. if you have enough cable.. can you move it to the other end of the roof. even if you are just doing it nailed to a 2x4 leaning against the far wall of the shop.. so you are NOT receiving over the ridges of the roof. also not sending out signal across the ridges of the roof..
    2 move the inside antenna around.. you may want to dangle it on something dangling from the roof rafters so it will still transmit and receive inside the building but it won't be shielded in the corner its just a thought..
    and again.. you need to find somebody who has a utility pole installation truck with the big hydrauilc motor on the boom to put you in some long power pole anchors around your buildings.. allowing you to throw stainless steel banding over the roofs and binding them down to reduce future wind damage. you may put bands around the building also.. there are also ways to drill holes in the side of some tubes and driving them in the ground instead of anchors.. then driving long pieces of rebar thru the holds into the ground at angles.. making it really hard to pull out of the ground..

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Před 3 lety +1

      I probably could improve the signal, but it's working extremely well. I uploaded 3 CZcams videos today (unheard for me) and two of them in under 45 minutes. Sometimes this would take many hours. No dropped calls, streaming better than I ever have and download is no issue in the metal building. Long story short, I'm very pleased with the results.

    I'd STRONGLY advise caulking around the point where you drilled through the roof to prevent long term issues with the wood trusswork as the rain runs down the pole and against the beam.

    Hey man first time I've checked you out ever but good video brave on the latter there well heres my comment I have very little experience with weboost but I have every reason to believe its great how ever I've lots of experience with antennas and knowing how well that system. Worked for you if you made a couple more fairly simple changes I know for a fact wouldn't cost much but ill bet would have that video uploaded in about 15 min. Maybe less not sure but the change is to your outside antenna do some research find a yagi directional beam Antenna the more the elements the more the gain and the more important it is that your rite on your target also really not sure how it apply here but using a metal mast pole getting as high as possible in the air as safety as possible even if guying the mast is nessasery also helps there's a couple of things about what I've mentioned one is everything I said may not be necessary for you to reach maximum signal and once max. Is reached there is no more but two there most likely is people out there who due two there distances from the towers will need to do everything I said plus very good grounding will make their cell speeds very very good with these weboost systems the outside antenna and how well is setup can make a world of difference on how well the inside part works ok my apinuion only im not affiliated with weboost or anyone else for that matter just thought I would let people know that there are ways to improve or even make these things work if they were unable to get anything and its not that hard to go from nothing to a whole lot without spending a lot of money ok hope you guys the best and that this helps atheist one person it would be great if it were many but one would do God bless

    Hi there! Hoping you might be able to help with my Weboost? It works great but as you know, you can't go more than a few feet from the interior antenna or it will stop working. We use our Weboost mainly at our cabin. Do you know if it is possible to set up either a router or a repeater type system with the Weboost in order to get more distance from the interior antenna? To get decent internet in where we are, I built a 100' tower at the top of our mountain and rented it to a local wireless ISP that provides service into our valley and the other side of the mountain. They pay me enough to cover our property tax + some and we get 50mb service included. In your flat terrain, probably take a lot shorter tower.
