Purchased this yesterday, and between this and EZDrummer2 Pro, I'm debating on whether I'll ever join another band again lol. Now I can design everything exactly how I want it to be, without that awkward discussion of telling someone to play their instrument differently lol. Great program 👍
wait till you check out EZKeys. be a composer with the most talented keys player that can play any chord in many patterns and styles... and add or remove notes as you need.
I can't wait to start using this. Lately I've been starting all my songwriting productions in midi so I have the flexibility to easily change tempos, keys, and just do a lot of experimenting. Then I go back after I've nailed down all the songs parameters, structure and the bulk of the arrangement and replace most of it with real recordings. I already use EZdrummer and EZkeys for this, so this sort of completes the back beat portion of the writing. I've been using Scarbee for this, which is okay, but this just seems so much better and faster.
I've got several pieces that have suffered with weak bass parts. I've given up on getting bassists here. Now, My Bassist is here! I'm still waiting on the EZ part, but I'm closer than buying a cheap bass and trying to come up with parts. The sounds are excellent too. Thanks Production Expert.
my problem was getting bass players so i learned how to play bass, then drummers were hard to find, so learned that to half assed anyway so i get a studio to record the different tracks and rehearse. EZ drummer 2 & Superior drummer 3 now EZ bass fuck yea!! definitely nothing ez about it, there is a learning curve for sure but its well worth the time invested.
But do you guys grow your own food and make your own clothes?? Oh wait, you let the machines do that for you so can be on youtube instead. Be grateful😎
It's not a bad way to write music ... but yeah, as good as all this software has gotten, it still sounds a little canned. You still gotta have the ideas to get it out in the first place ... so I don't think the tech is the problem. It's what people are doing with it that makes it boring. "I don't think the equipment could take over, .. We do rely on it a lot .. we couldn't do what we do as we do it without it... we could still do a good entertaining musical show without it I suppose.. but all those things are down to how you control them and whether you're controlling them, and not the other way around. It's all extensions of what's coming out of our heads ... and you've got to remember that you've got to have it inside your head to get it out at all anyway... and the equipment isn't actually thinking of what to do any of the time. It couldn't control itself." - David Gilmour
I have decided to purchase Trillian. The number of bass models is unmatched. Same articulations possible plus the Arp. The EZBass audio to midi analysis is cool tho. Spectrasonics Time Designer is
It sounds like you're saying the flexibility in Trilian matches EZbass. If so, Please sho a video demonstrating this. BTW, I love Trilian but I came across Shredage 3 and it's my go-to for bass
If you're good you won't man. First of all there are so many articulations and variations that are just not possible real time. Like slapping, or just different variations of hitting the fret. Let's not mention picking at different parts of the neck, real time palm muting, and everything else. Yes, this is cool if you just wanna track some realistic bass tracks in your home studio. But what about realtime session musicians? They will know how to react organically to your music, and a preprogrammed bass cannot do that. What if you want to program a vibrato? Oh you can program a vibrato? Fine, fine, and fine. But its a waste of time I'm telling you. A good session musician will knock it out FAST. While you're over here humanizing every note, adding slight timing variations that sound HUMAN and ALIVE, and even nudging the midi notes here and there CAN NOT emulate it. A real player moves with the groove, and if you want to program a groove as good as legendary bassists, have fun slaving away at your piano roll for over 5 hours. I'll hire a session musician to do it in 1 hour, maybe even less.
I’m glad I have my old bass for tracking up on the wall because these bass VSTs seem like tedious stuff; I think at least. I get using drum vsts for so many reasons, but not sure if this is worth the elbow grease.
@@beatz04 yea but what about all the beer their gonna drink and not replace, not to mention hitting on your girlfriend constantly, and they never bring weed! ever!
@ASRDGEEK cool. Yes it's an incredible tool. I completely exchanged a muddy sounding live played bass via EZ bass and pushed the complete mix way up to positive. The audio tracker works perfect. I'm really excited. Plus I can use the groove section for my own compositions. I'm keyboard-piano player and sometimes struggle playing cool bass grooves of different genres myself. Those days have gone now. Totally cool and inspiring plugin for musicians as well as for mix engineers.
It's pretty damn good, but I wish there was an option to tighten the release a bit and offer manual string selection? However, they haven't sampled the entire fretboard! Also, on the presets that offer mid range EQ, the mid frequency knob is curiously labeled as a percentage?
You can record + edit MIDI in your DAW's piano roll directly, and also drag parts (or everything) from EZbass to the piano roll. Using the grid editor in EZbass has the advantage of doing the articulations in a nice visual manner, without having to drop in awkward key switch notes in MIDI manually, which is always a bit tedious. But you can freely choose your approach and combine them into whatever workflow suits you.
@@tommyaudio Not necessarily. Pricing varies from sellers and over time. This video is something someone can reference now or 3 years from now, when the pricing might be different.
Especially since a very good Moddo Bass has been out for more than a year now. Kind of sad, you could learn Bass - it's not rocket science and save a TON of time over this software that actually doesn't do much more than what comes for free in a Garageband or Logic Pro and NEVER sounds as good as a human. This guy's examples sucked ass, sounded like a repetitive computer - duhhh. 💀
That's why music is made by musicians and not by placing notes by a self-called "Producion Epert! The more i see your video's the more i doubt "expert"...
I bought it today is amazing!!! I am loving it

Thanks for another great overview, Eli! I got it yesterday and love it already!! 😎👍🏼

Great walkthrough. Straight to the point and easy to follow. I have had my eyes on Ez Bass some time, as I am a huge fan of EZ Drummer

Quick, informative, to the point tutorial. Thanks
Great ,hopefully soon all the parts will be written by machines and then listened to by machines.
Add auto tune and musicians won't be needed for about 10 years, then when they hear real music they will be astonished! But how is it made?
That's the dream.

If it was behind the rest of the band all the time then it would be realistic. :)
Good to see you back Russ. :)
I'm an Ez fan. This has the features of ezdrum, the flexibility of ezkeys. But it's even more clever! THX for your tutorial
king brilliant, so many features that will get used.
shut up and take my money ! it looks really fantastic
Well I am on that boat too :-D
Awesome. Thanks very much for this concise tutorial!
Thanks for the video! I'm just curious if some day there will be an EZGuitar :-)
Nice video, I really like it. I'm interested where did you get the organ sound, is it synth or vst and which one.
Nice. But I'll wait for Superior Bass.
I'm kidding lol
Them slide sound weak and short imo. I seen you drag n drop keys in tracker but what is the drums/keys tab for? Can you do drums and keys editing?
Thanks Eli.

where is that link for the full review mentioned at the end? I don't see it in the description....thx
This sounds good. Looks like I'm gonna lose my job soon lol. Eli's noise gate is too much I think.
Best of luck, Bro. Hopefully you won't.

IKR. While watching all the EZ Bass tutorials i couldn't help but think "or i get a bass player and be done with it in a fraction of the time".
@@beatz04 You know bass players are people that need time to learn your basslines and aren't just human basses right?

Can we export the groove sections editors content as Midi files into our DAW?

Nice Video! What drums are you using? Thanks
Wish he answered the question in the title of this video
interesting tutorial, way better than the ones provided by the official toontrack channel
Damn, you're quick
What audio card are you using?
It's pretty damn good, but I wish there was an option to tighten the release a bit and offer manual string selection? However, they haven't sampled the entire fretboard! Also, on the presets that offer mid range EQ, the mid frequency knob is curiously labeled as a percentage?
You do have they option; play a real bass 😂
Geez, the manual or programming would drive me crazy. Just play the part.
Does the articulation midi mapping play well at all with Trillian?
This is a completely separate instrument and has nothing to do with Trilian.
whoooooosh
shatteredsquare Ha ha
Awesome!
What if I'm not interested in the software but I want to program my own notes into the piano roll? (which seems easier if you ask me)

and how can I import the drum section?
Just drag and drop
It works fine / nicely 😉
Why is my bass player in my band calling me and cussing me out saying, "Hey man, you didn't call me last night for that gig! What happened?"
Remember if you’re a student or teacher some places offer an educational discount
Now, we need just a real-time analyzer to track a reduced band.
I just bought a 300 dollar Jackson bass and write them myself. Seems easier than having to learn all this. This is very cool though.
Day 1 purchase. No ragerts.
.. I personally love 'Ragerts' ... *I kid :)
P J Oh yeah! Fresh ragerts; nothing better.
Je ne ragertte rien
Sucks I just bought modo bass on sale for 69. EZ bass is way better surprisingly enough.
all this product description yet no mention of the price. really wish more product vids would mention that
Looks like it’s $179 ($149 at Sweetwater right now)
Sometimes plugindboutique.com has toontrack stuff on sale. Toontrack stuff is great but pricey.
You mean it's too hard to look up ezbass by the software company toontrack to see the price.
i know, i looked it up. i'm making a point. the price should be in a vid that is all about the product.

at 8:30 the bass sounds out of tune !
It just jumps to a higher octave at that point for a couple of notes.
No slap articulation for the vintage bass - instant fail. Trillian or Modo bass have so much more sound options.
not good for fonk or when you need slaps don't sound real

Yeah, i know is not base, and everything ive heard so far sucks.
