Super Grandpa, keeping the flame alive and passing the knowledge to the younger generation! I love that! My Grandpa did the same with me and my brother!

I really love these engines. Such a balanced machine, just like a swiss watch. Nice work fella too.

Nice the 4 stroke cylinders are inline with the crank pins being in the same position so one is either on combustion or induction so each TDC one is either a compression stroke and one is an exhaust stroke basically making this twin the equivalent to a single two stroke engine because in every two strokes there's a hit allowing the engine to go "hit hit hit hit hit hit". If it were a typical inline twin where the two crank pins are 180° from each other it would be "hit hit miss miss hit hit miss miss" no matter how you put the firing order so they've solved that problem of the large delay between the combustion pulses.

Having the crank layout like that also reduces the vibration that would be caused by having a 'rocking-couple'.

That is awesome. Parallel twin. When an engineer ran engines.

One: a very nice engine rebuild. Two: he leaned over the engine, and his coat sleeve was an inch away from possible arm amputation, flinging the baby away. Three: combustion fumes directly on the infant, possibly producing asthma. But good work on motor

Hi I am looking at an engine just like this, but missing the lubricator and tachometer. Is there a way that I could get dimensions on the tachometer casting so I can have one cast? Thank you, Jack in USA.

Había dejado de funcionar hace más de 60 años. El vecino Daniel Dezzotti logró ponerlo en marcha. Fue instalado en ese lugar en 1896, 14 años antes de la fundación del pueblo.

A lot of parallel twin motorbike engines are like that as well. It is done to get a more even firing sequence as each piston only gets fired every second turn. If the crank-pins were set 189 degrees apart the engine would still work but it would not run smoothly.
