one of the few musicians now in days that can actually call themselves artists
this is my go-to gary clark jr. performance when I'm introducing him to a friend lol
same. JJ is the dopest.
I go with Numb and Pearl Caddy. Just found this though. Trying to convince some folks to with me to see him in Memphis in may. Guess maybe I should use this.
YES!
Years later, this holds true for me!
I couldn't play and sing as well way till I seen just his movement. He literally splits the time in half! Looks cool too!
East Texas white boy here... Reached into my soul and re-vibe it.. Thank you sir, your a angel.
I miss this man like you wouldn't believe!!! Miss talking to him after a gig, giving him a hug and waiting for next time... He played at The Continental Club out here in Austin,Texas every Wednesday... He's gotten too big for those days. Will cherish those memories till I die! Happy to see people around the world loving his music!!! Cheers to you Gary!!!
Absolutely Awesome. I saw him this morning on tv and had a little dejavu.......sounds like Jimi......
I'm a 66 year old female who had the privilege of seeing Jimi Hendrix while living in the Haight-Asbury in 1967-69
Mr. Clark Jr. has been blessed with a wonderful talent.
I've noticed in a lot of his videos, he's wearing the same shoes. Live, Studio or otherwise, those shoes. Just speaks to me that all Mr.Clark's songs are very real. Seems like a modest man.
diggin this. saw him live a year ago and wasn't really paying attention due to some certain things.. but damn jesus this boy is a genius. can't wait to see him play and truly give him the respect and appreciation he totally deserves.
Still listen to this jam from Canada 10 years later. Keep grooving my man.
JJ Johnson KILLIN it on the drums!!!
LOVE how he uses the high-hat!
Such a hypnotic piece of music. For something different, play this through a massive speaker with your chest on it.
This is really, really beautiful. The guitar and the drums are so synced and equal here. The visual effects make it that much more powerful.
The drummer is the heart beat of this jam🔥🔥🔥
And Gary is the soul
I just could listen to this on repeat all day.
This guy with the right exposure will do great things with his music.

No pressure... But thank you for saving music. I haven't felt so lifted from the modulation of time and space like this since hearing the greats. Mark my words, You are going to a Legend!
There are more great blues artists today than I can remember the names of.
You gotta admit...the man can play a mean guitar and has a great voice for the blues. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for keeping blues and rock for the next generations alive !
Goosebumps man, goosebumps....something rock hasn't done to me in at least 12 years. Swear to God I thought Hendrix was reincarnated. This is exactly what I have been waiting for! Rock on!
Nothing compares to the Phycodelic experience watching Gary Clark play it's Hendrix era comming back!
Very musical. Great to see such a talented musician making a stir. Hopefully there is much more to come.
Thank you for being here on this earth bro.. We need more real music like this.
I love how when Jimi Hendrix's riffs are played, colorful effects are added in the video
one word...AMAZING!!!
this music is an outburst of joy, freedom, self expression and happiness..
just saw him 2 nights ago in DC. Blown away. Raw talent! When he played with it was the highlight for me. Jimi was smiling that night.
I saw Gary at Brazil, when he played before Eric Clapton's concert for 50,000 people! He is amazing, I loved "I Don't owe you a thing"! And in the end, he played the encore "Crossroads" with Eric. It was amazing! Thank you Gary for the amazing concert that you did here in Sao Paulo, Brazil!
This video is such a calm place to be. I’ve been coming back to watch this again and again and it never gets old.
I hope he puts this song on his album...the entire jam!!!
just saw him in boston...this kids really got it going on...met him before the show....humble as they come...almost shy to a fault....he tore the roof off with all genres of his music....a sonic genius...
More than 10 minutes of pure and raw awesomeness. Good luck to this growing artist
Jack White and Dan Auerbach(Black Keys) are my absolute favorite musicians EVER & have been for at least 6-8 years now. There is something about this dude that just screams to me... "I'm next" ..and I bet he will be. 100% talent (plus some) and jaw dropping presence right here friends. Lets enjoy him together~ def gonna buy his album.
When i first started my radio show Gary Clark was in my initial line up and still play his awesome tunes today. Love his work
This is not bland. He takes something simple and adds his own twist to it. People have become obsessed with running up and down the neck and equating that to being a "good" guitar player. This is beautiful and refreshing. Going to see this guy March 9 in Houston!!!!!
Absolutely amazing!!! Love to see someone with that much command of an insturment and not being dubbed by a computer. WOW!!!! No Bieber, no commercial rap, this is from the soul. Great job.
Luv JJ's smile as he waits for the signal on that final beat. And Gary well... He's just too good!
I think that JJ Johnson was such a huge part of this awesome sound that I have a harder time getting into his live stuff now. Unless it's just Gary. Then it still kills. JJ for drummer!
what an incredibly talented man, filled with so much passion, you can tell how much he loves the music he is playing, god damn, that is some real music. Long live Gary Clark Jr. !!!!
Great groove. The drummer is sick.
Man, in the last week I found TWO up an coming artist. For a while there I was feelin' old and feelin' music was dead. Thanks Gary Clark Jr and Allen Stone.
I like his studio work, but he really shines when he's up on stage. Would love to hear a live album. Rock on Gary!
I saw him Friday night. Was awesome! You got to see this cat live!
Yes. Seen him 2 or 3 times.
Peace
Magic in the air and he tunes it in loud and clear.
Gary Clark Jr is a beast.
This is my absolute favorite new artists glad somebody had balls enough to let the world have some real music!!!
All that beautiful sound from 2 men! Amazing
My beautiful Black King. He makes me want to dance. Awesome song! I love the throw back.
This performance is EPIC!
After all the "guitar heroes" I've had to settle for in past few years, I can't think Gary enough for existing.
I bet you never thought just a guitar and drums alone could sound so good together these guys are so good together the best new artist i have seen in twenty years.
Thank god there is still good music in this world.
i love the balance between dissonance and overtones in his guitar riffs..it just sounds so freakin amazing
Starting 2020 with this lovely song 👍🤘
How ya been?
Why not 2021 also?
This guy's amazing. My faith in music is restored. And props to the drummer too. That guy's no joke.
Good ole fashioned jam session! That guitar fuzz just warms my heart...the improv guitar playing this guy does is OUTSTANDING. This is one of those show-stopping live performances. I love the album version, but I wish THIS was one the album. Just gorgeous.
And now I can go to bed with a smile on my, Thank you sir, what a splendid performance! And J.J. Johnson is always an inspiration! I really hope i could be half as good as he is...
Again, splendid!
Davide
I love this guy style and talent :)
Brilliant musician, pure sound, love it!!
Dude plays from his heart, that's all that should matter when it comes to guitar
Abso-freakin'-lutely Amazing!
I suspect the life of a pro musician isn't easy, but when I see and hear music like this, I just say "Thanks, man. Really and truly thank you."
Gary clark is so fkcin' cool player !!! I really love his playing and sound !!
The new hope for blues rock !!
It gives me chills everytime i watch this video. His on stage presence is just out of this world. His voice and skills on the guitar are in awesome. No way could anyone now a days compete.
This guy's got it down. Eyes closed, kinda seems like he's in a different dimension as he plays. Its magical. When you see someone that's totally entranced in whatever he/she's doing, it's awesome. This guy has the art of jamming down in a better way that I've seen for a while. Beautifully played, beautifully performed. Kudos, Mr. Clark. I hope you win a bunch of Grammy's and kinda pull a Nirvana revolution on our asses.
I've listened to this about 20 times since yesterday. Love the sound, the style. I love that there is just a guitar and drums. The rest of the album is very interesting too. Great job.
I have a big smile on my face when I watch Gary. I love it!
everything about this recording is just spot on. the sizzly ride cymbal, the snare, the fuzzy guitar, how the vocals can barely be heard....everythings just right
Nah man the voice! More vocal, I want to here that soulfulness I came for.
Spot on man, you said it perfectly!
Agreed 💯
naw...its right like it is
I love this man. His guitar speaks to my soul!!!! The musicians behind are excellent as well!!! They bounce off each other seamlessly. LOVE IT!!!
Come on man. Just because you don't like that genre doesn't mean the music is crap. They have some of the best song writing in recent memory. I love folk, and country, and bluegrass too. So I appreciate all the instruments in the band. Regardless, they are a great band. Anyone who is picked to tour with Bob has credibility. Combine that with talent, they are amazing.
So this is what it was like... back then.... in the days of Hendrix.
Thanks Gary for giving another generation an opportunity to feel it.
This guy has been my musical obsession since, like most others, Crossroads. This is the best song I've heard in YEARS. Keep it up, man!!
Very strong work. Deep conviction coupled with extreme originality and skill...rock on.
this is beautiful.. reminds me of jimi.. thanks for keeping him alive still in your music
Im in the inner state of happiness again! U are too good to be true Gary...
This sounds really nice! Keep up the good work Mr. Clark and Mr. Johnson!
One of my faaaavorite live joints. Drum_
I held my breath,I was hot then cold. I shivered with ecstasy. This is fantastic.WHEW.
Gary Clark Jr. is the most real soulful blues guitarist to be revealed in the 21st Century!! I know one day Gary, Derek Trucks, Jackie Green, Ben Harper, Warren Haynes and a few more will cross each other one fine day! Whether all at once or here and there I pray we can know that and hear the depths of the afore mentioned and the chemistry, Blues on top of Blues play for hours on end!! I would love to know that experience!!!
I have watched this vid three days straight at least three times a day. He's effin awsome!!!!
Oh man This sound just makes my soul weak!
I love this song one of my favorites from Gary!
This song is amazing, I am so thankful ...
published on July 20th'2011 and still on fire
this is like Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Borthers Band, and Freddie King mashed together. What an AMAZING sound from only a two piece band.
Goodness I love that version of the song...
I am a purist. So is GCJ! Love this guy!
This is sick. Love how he wove Jimi like a thread through the entire song. That solo. This is beautiful.
I am definitely a fan for a week and cant stop listening to his music ...cool
I saw them in lollapalooza Chile, and yes, they really did, was the best surprise for me in the festival, because till then I didn't know them...
Love this jam, Gary keep on rock'in Man!
This is absolutely awe inspiring. I wish some tabs existed for this rendition of the song.
Absolutely amazing.........
Singing with a pick in his mouth : BOSS

this song is what made me love Jimi years back. Thanks for playing this music, man.
It's cool to see a genuine jam session posted. Great little bits of groove appear and transform along the way.
