Please don't make the same mistake as me and book a trip to Siargao in January. We're getting hit with a lot of heavy rain, thunderstorms, flooding, etc. All the heavy rain causes very poor internet/wifi signal throughout the whole island. Not much to do. All the locals here tell me it's like this during the months of Jan/Feb. I just canceled my stay here and will try booking another destination. Thanks for the video man! 👍

I stayed at Kermit surf resort in the past. They have excellent surf instructors, good accommodation and PIZZA! I hope Siargao will recover quickly, many people rely on tourism.

Both San Juan & Baler are more easily accessed via Clark, which has direct flights from Hong Kong, Korea, Japan & China. This cuts 2-3 hours off the commute compared to Manila. For Siargao, best to fly into Cebu, then take a ferry.

Surfing is booming on the islands, La Union and C9 regular comps on the WSL tour. Lot of talent rising through the ranks now.

LaPaz Beach in San Narciso, Luzon is also noted for its surfing. It's about 90 minutes north of Olongapo. There are many smaller resorts but the best by far is Crystal Beach. Folk come from all over the world to stay there and surf. You'll be driving right by our home to get to the beach, so wave "Hi" when you pass. 😁

Siargao for those who haven’t been does have brown outs during the day. But the nicest clear water. Aurora is nice with a big boardwalk, water not so nice. My wife has property there. San Juan can’t really say, it was raining for the 3 days I was there. My pick would be Siargao for the beauty but get a nice hotel with a generator. Hopes this helps.
