FULL DEEP ROCK GALACTIC VIDEO WITH YOUR FRIENDS OR I'LL CRY.
@@potterinhe11 He's a vitamin D-deficient psychopath, he'd enjoy watching you cry.
Hey Yakko, would you consider making a video about retro games?
Nice seein ya back
game recommendation: Wildfrost
you describing brutal orchestra's combat system made me think of it.
she rock on my rock and im rock
Bizleboy be freakin
Thank you so much for the Brutal Orchestra shout out!
This was such an absolute joy to watch! I’m so glad you took the plunge into the depths of purgatory.
Keep your eyes peeled though, there is a circus coming to town 🤡🥩
Love the vibes of BO, its that sorta dream like eldritch vibe that I adore emulating so much.
thank you for the kind words! i'm excited for Clown Meat 😎
rephrase please

Quick question, mr./ms. devs: on a scale of 1 to Yes, how much do you like Hylics?
I love every game on this list, but DRG will always hold a special place in my heart. Rock and Stone forever!
Did I hear a Rock & Stone...?!
ROCK AND STONE
ROCK AND STONE
ROCK N’ STONE TO THE BONE!
ROCK AND STONE BROTHER
I love how I see the thumbnail and my brain immediately goes "ROCK AND STONE" without skipping a beat
heckyeah brothar
did I hear a rock and stone?
rock and stone to the heart!
STONE AND ROCK
Oh wait...
Fun fact about the procedural generation in DRG that isn't explicitly told to you and can be difficult to notice organically: Another part other than the layout of the caves themselves that's variable from mission to mission and contributes to keeping things fresh is that there's a pool and priority system for determining what shows up during a mission and how often. Grunts (+elite variants), praetorians, and oppressors are always going to be on the table, but everything else is limited by either a limited number of slots in a pool, or a priority system that makes the director handling the enemy spawns much more likely to spend its credits on one enemy type than another.
Like, you know how you'll go tens or twenties of missions without seeing a Bulk, and then in one mission you get two or even three? That's probably why; it wasn't in the pool in those other missions, but that one it *is*, it's on the table every time the director has credits to burn. Those missions where you feel like you can't take a second to breathe without getting mouthful of web from a web spitter? The ones where you look at the corner of the screen and it definitely isn't a Mactera plague but by god does it feel like it? The priority system. It's fucking brilliant. Ghost Ship are great.
Its also dependant on the biome. Some biomes are guaranteed to have webspitter, acidspitters, or sandsharks, etc
Whaaaat thats awesome!! Ive got like almost a thousand hours and i never knew this. That explains all the swarmers....
I just finished pseudoregalia recently, it deserves every penny and can't wait for more from the dev in the future.
Fr, I beat it a few months ago, and I've never played anything else like it. Genuinely an awesome game.
You'll be happy to know they're working a a new game called ElectroKinetic, a Rougelike 3D platformer
@@derple8524 HELL YEAH, and I'm gonna look forward to it
yeah! finishing it with 1 hand was tough!
@@VintageMarine I'm not a furry, BUT DAMN SHE'S THICC
It’s always cool to see how creative the indie scene is
BRC was such a fun little game. By far the most fun I’ve had with a game all year
You clearly haven't played deep rock
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a truly fun 3D trick-based platforming that respects its players, like most indies
fr and the mods just make it even better
@@xigboythe13th40repetitive ahh game
@@civilizedpizza5902 you also clearly haven't *played* deep rock
Great video and nice list also Sybil in the thumbnail is just a chef’s kiss 😩
• Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
• Pseudoregalia
• Deep Rock Galactic
• Case of the Golden Idol
• Citizen Sleeper
• Brutal Orchestra
So happy to see BRC on the thumbnail! This game needs more attention so that more people can check it out. I feel like it is also important to mention that the modding community in this game is also very active, that you basically have a dlc expansion because of them! ..and they are still going at it!
PS they are also releasing a 3xLP/vinyl record of their awesome soundtrack! To which i'm sure Yakko would be thrilled with!
you say that last part as if i haven't already pre-ordered the vinyl 😎
@@yakkocmn yea part of me was thinking you most likely already did! lol
Dude i adore this series. More creators in this scene needs to look for and showcase indie games, im sick of seeing the same 5 new AAA games every month. I always know 2 or 3 of these but you always manage to put a couple of new bangers on my radar. Insert praise for the design of Deep Rock here.
play thunder goober's personality dungeon
How is this real?!?!?
In terms of Indie Games you haven't talked about, you definitely gotta give both Dust:An Elysian Tail and CrossCode a go, they're my favourite indie games for good reason.
Definitely agree on Dust. Never did finish it, but it's definitely a game I plan to revisit.
Dust is great
Crosscode is an all time best for sure.
CrossCode fucking slaps and I need more people to talk about it
Crosscode is an indie cult classic™
I'm a simple man. I see deep rock galactic. I click
I'll rock and stone to that ⛏️
ROCK AND STONE 🍻
I think you should take a look at Laika: Aged Through Blood. It's a "motorvania" as the devs called it. They basically turned the Trials games into a metroidvania where you do backflips to reload. Also, the story, art style and music are all amazing. I think its right up your alley.
Absolutely. I think he would love the soundtrack
I came to the comments just to recommend this game, too.
It's outstanding.
Thanks for covering Brutal Orchestra. It is criminally underrated and I feel has a really unique and fun combat system and some of the best writing I've heard in quite some time.
Have you played Rain World before? It’s a 2D platformer/survival game where you are just a little creature exploring abandoned superstructures while trying to survive at the bottom of the food chain. I’ve heard people call it the “New York city Rat Simulator” and honestly that sums it up better than I ever could.
Oh plus it has lots of cool movement tech and a killer soundtrack-
scug
Yeah! Rain World appreciation!
These videos are like a holiday for me because your recommendations are so good. Even if I some don’t do much for me, the ones that hit, hit like a train.
I love this series! indie games are amazing and it's great to see you giving them a spotlight like this, especially the less known ones.
I don't know if you've played it already but I would love to hear you talk about Signalis. It's absolutely amazing and one of those games I could not stop thinking about for months after finishing it.
Man, the indie scene really knows how to get games a-going. And I swear, that end card with the Brutal Orchestra head, I swore it moved every time my mouse hovered over it. That's detail!
29:45 I’m so glad yakko cares about us Bosch enjoyers who also like games
I love every single suggestion you’ve ever made in these videos
I'm so happy that you had brutal orchestra in this video it's such a great game
goodness me yakkocmn is on the deep rock grind as well! ROCK AND STONE!!!
ROCK AND STONE!! Thank you for your hard work and for sharing this wonderful video! You have given me some great ideas for gifts for my friends!
Your videos are part of what made me start development as a hobby. Thanks for comin back bro.
I found out about pseudoregalia thanks to Iron pineapple
A bite sized 3D platformer metroidvania with fluid movement and a bunny girl protag with a (pardon my french) sublime arrière train, all for a price equivalent to a 4 scoops ice cream while being infinitely less unhealthy and not costing anything to re-experience
This game was a true feast for my platformer loving heart so thank you Yakko for helping spread the word 🙏
BRC holds a special place in my heart forever, glad you're spreading the word
This video was a great watch, I loved your energy and the format. Cant wait to try out some of these recommendations
it's always a joy seeing you upload :)
Great video Yakko! Always glad to see some Brutal Orchestra representation too! If there's one game I'd recommend I would choose Golden Light. It's a messed up horror rougelike where the props hunt you down and everything is made of MEAT
You should really try Wuppo.
Its an little Metroidvania I fell in love with because of the Artstyle and charm of the game.
I second this. Wuppo's a gem.
Wuppo!
YES PLZ THE WORLD NEEDS MORE WUPPO LOVE
Great to see you back with a video, and I love seeing Deep Rock get attention from youtubers I watch!
First time hearing about Brutal Orchestra, looks right up my alley! Thanks yakko.
Yakko this is the first time I knew about all these games before watching, feels very weird after being introduced to so many amazing games from your previous videos in this series. I still enjoyed it a lot and hope you make more full of more obscure stuff!
omg did not expect brutal orchestra, I'm so glad it's getting more traction
Thank you Yakko, your uploads make my days better!
love your reviews, videos, editing, commentary..., keep it up!!!!
I like the video's thumbnail illustration, looks good and clean and makes me wonder what could happen if those three characters/games were to meet up.
Also sweet to see Brutal Orchestra in here, and generally indie games get more coverage. If more of these videos get made, i hope the likes of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Soulstice, and the upcoming Cookie Cutter and Genokids may become part of them. Perhaps No Straight Raids and Metal: Hellsinger as well.
So happy to see some Citizen Sleeper representation! Such a fantastic story. Looking forward to the sequel.
Yes! I was very happy to see him review it and talk about how much the story grips you.
Happy to see you back! Your videos are always a treat to watch :)
Great stuff, as always, thanks man!
Yessss!!!!
Drg!
Rock and stone brother!
I know that it just came out like 3 days ago but kinda surprised Knuckle Sandwich wasn’t on here. Really recommend it btw for people who haven’t heard about it it’s a really good rpg
i was actually just finishing up the edit when it came out - i'm excited to check it out and maybe feature it in the future :)
I’ve been checking for a new yakko video every day for quite a while now and this video does not dissapoint
Glad to see you back! Your content always brings a smile to my face and inspires me to get creating. Much love! ❤
I am so glad you mentioned Citizen Sleeper. That game is so amazing and so few people know about it
couldn’t even edge to this, I exploded immediately!!! Clean up on aisle MY PANTS🤣🤣🤣🤣
My partner and I are two of the 5 or 6 people that are gamers AND fans of Hieronymus Bosch (they even have a dress with a print of one of their paintings). Thanks for showing us Brutal orchestra, we are going to love the hell out of this!
already knew some of the games from Olexas Channel, love u both :)
Why do you have such great taste in games? I wish I could just talk to you about games for a whole day
6 MORE indie games no way?!!?!
you're telling me that many video games exist?!
Have yet to fully watch the video but youre SO REAL for putting citizen sleeper here i love it so much
Fantastic video !! My best discovery of the year might be Hardspace Shipbreaker, the story the music everything got me to a point I can't describe !
Thanks for giving indie devs some spotlight!
I feel like you would enjoy CrossCode a lot Yako. It has a very satisfying action combat system with a lot of fun exploration and even has an optional mission that acknowledges a common movement exploit.
im so happy we got an upload
Love your recomendations!
Citizen Sleeper is such a great game, even if i feel it gets a little too easy to maintain at the end. There are choices in the game that made me genuinely have to walk away and think for a moment. It's full of flawed but understandable characters, to the point that even the early villain ends up looking like he needs help somehow. The end of the game takes a lot of the focus off of your personal survival and makes you wonder where your path has brought you, including the people you influence throught the game. I loved it, i still think about it, and it's been months. Im waiting for the day when i forget most of it to go back and play it again
Psudoregalia is so good, I saw it popup on the steam new releases, gave it a click and soon It was in contention for my game of the year.
An inde game iron pineapple recommend back in early access I think you might enjoy is lunacid. A beautiful atmospheric first person dungeon crawler with some incredibly rewarding exploration
been waiting for another video like this from you and JUST KNEW bomb rush was gonna be here haha ❤
would love to see a full video dedicated to it
I can't begin to thank you for the amount of amazing indie games you've made me play through this series
I would LOVE to see you check out The Upturned at some point. Same dev as who made Lethal Company that's blown up recently, but The Upturned is just super special and didn't get nearly as much attention as it should have!
true the upturned is goated
You should definitely check out Paradise Killer and The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood! They're some of my favorite indie games and I'm kinda sad no one seems to be talking about them. The lore, vibes, and music(Paradise Killer especially) are immaculate.
One of the few games that I bought the soundtrack on vinyl! Wish I grabbed the A sides but the purple color for the B ones is so nice.
Every cut made to yakko with the silly glasses made me laugh. Every. time. Keep up the good work
Love to see the great recuring usage of a good skeleton. Amazing video as always.
An Extremely underrated game this year is "American Arcadia" which is basically the truman show if it was made in 2023 and with an entire city. It Parodies Disney and reality shows a lot.
Dinkum is a gem too. It's Animal Crossing in the Australian outback with more to do, they just released the summer update which adds a bunch of new stuff.
You always have the best taste, I always learn about a new gem i haven't heard of from these!
Yet again, you deliver as always. I'll definitely check Golden Idol.
Recently I finally played Pyre from your recommendation and I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH. Absolutely loved playing it and definitely it landed on top of my fav game list.
Thank you again for what you're doing for indie community
*WE’RE RICH!!!*
ROCK AND STONE
If you liked Brutal Orchestra you might wanna give Library of Ruina a try, it's got a similar feeling of resource management, punishing turn based combat and just a lot of cool and weird shit going on.
god I absolutely love library of ruina. it's only issue is monotonous grind which seems to be a popular korean dev thing.
past that is a glorious story, fantastic world and killer soundtrack.
so y'know, all the makings of a good indie game.
I just wish the translation was better… it gets a little confusing at times
You should seriously check out void stranger, it’s criminally underrated and one of the best games of the year
you should totally talk about RAIN WORLD, it genuinely scared me at some points without necessarily being a horror game just because of the atmosphere and the fear of the unknown which is something you find at every screen, not to mention the gorgeous art style that i've never seen used and the impressive Artificial Inteligence of the enemies which makes them a real threat and i personally never found a way to "cheese" the AI
if you play rain world you'll really feel like a spec of dust in a big world where nothing revolves around you besides wanting to reach your own personal goal, it's tough as nails and has no mercy for the player, no hand holding besides the first few screens that just show you the basic controls
there's also some cool movement mechanics, interesting themes about life and cycles, adaptive music, hundreds of ways to die, a bit of rng sprinkled in the enemy spawn locations and their interactions, branching paths to get to one location, similar to outer wilds you can finish the game if you know where the goal is, and of course the most important part: slugcat :)
Brutal Orchestra is absolutely amazing, and I agree that it needs to be played. And I say this as someone who absolutely sucks at the game. It's so good that I have fun even when the game is kicking my teeth in.
I think BRC needs a sequel that expoands on two aspects, tricks and combat, so why not tie both together make some kind of street fighter type special attacks that double as different tricks, the skates or bikes would be like classes and each character could have some unique super moves
The fact I played all 3 games shown in the thumbnail just reassures me that I have good taste. Definitely gonna check out the other 3 games you mentioned as well!
Fun Fact: The Ouroboros from Brutal Orchestra is also the main antagonist from the game Swallow the Sea.
This video has my like for having DRG and Brutal Orchestra.
This really is the Brutal Orchestra
just wanna say, that your videos reignite the feeling of addictive joy in me, you are awesomr
Happy to see someone else talk about Citizen Sleeper. I forgot if you have talked about it yet, but you should play Sable :)
I love BRC so much. It's kinda funny how right now my picks for my personal game of the year are between Baldur's Gate 3 because well it's baldur's gate 3 and BRC. Something about that thought just is funny to me. Also damn it Yakko every time you make one of these videos I feel I need to try all of the games because you're so good at making them sound like the exact type of games I enjoy! (it's usually because they are)
Play Void Stranger, and go in blind. Trust me, it's something special.
Great review Video
If you ever plan on making a pt. 2 I must recommend you Ultrakill. Amazing movement, the weapons mechanics are extremely cool and satisfying and breakcore OST slaps HARRRRD
A pretty new game you would probably like is Chants of Sennaar. You basically scale the tower or Babel to learn all the different languages of the people who live in it and figure out what's going on.
brutal orchestra POG
I looked up the soundtrack for bomb rush and it's nothing but banger after banger frfr. Thank you for sharing these amazing sounds with me
fun fact!: big sea monster that has a weird human face above its mouth is actually from one of the developers' other games called "swallow the sea" where it serves as the primary antagonist
Yakko, i would highly recommend you look into a very deep and fascinating story telling game, called Coffee Talk. It's a lovely pixelated visual novel that combines the smoothness of coffee making with LoFi beats so beautiful that you'd be able to ascend to Heaven upon hearing them. I cannot recommend it enough, and I hope you make a video on this game someday, because this game deserves the attention that it's reaching for.
Side Note, this game series recently put out Coffee Talk: Episode 2, which I haven't played myself, but looks fantastic. I definitely plan on playing it here soon. Hope you see this, thanks again.
i'm not sure what i'd say about a game like Coffee Talk in a video but i played it last year and i enjoyed it! also been meaning to get to the second one when i find the time
I cherish this series... There's always one or two games that sneak under the radar even when I try to be vigilant and this makes sure I don't miss them.
The jokes and editing were top notch too
I was waiting for you to cover BRC! Goty for sure
yakko with a new vid??? wooooaaaaah, nice vid!
I love Bomb Rush Cyberfunk so damn much man, might just be my game of the year alongside TOTK, and it definitely should’ve been nominated and won soundtrack of the year at the game awards, shit was unreal with how good it was.
That's why I don't bother with Game Awards, there a whole can of worms that ain't worth. I love BRC, and that's all that matters to me
@@derple8524 fr, while games like brc dont even get nominated, we got boring garbage money stealing machines like forza motorsport on the spotlight
an indie game that i think is SUPER underrated is Laika aged through blood. Its essentialy a game where your an immortal furry riding through an apocalyptic wasteland ON A MOTERCYCLE. The combat is amazing (i mean you reload by doing a backflip how is that not awesome) and the characters and writing are genuinely amazing. It depicts the struggles of war and the pain that it brings absolutely perfectly and honestly its an amazing game to play through.
I got into Deep Rock Galactic because my friends kept playing it, and one of them gifted it to me so we played it together constantly.
Citizen Sleeper was my game of the year when it came out, and it felt rough to leave it behind when I finished it.
It's been a while since I genuinely cared about the fate of digital characters.
The game has a lot of heart, and I'm incredibly happy to have been able to experience it.
