I had a recently published video become #1 in views for my channel overall, so I decided to pay to promote it. The video made a decent amount of ad revenue, and I figured that a very popular video would be a good one to use for testing the promotion efficacy. I paid the max of $200 for CZcams to promote the video for about two weeks. Here are the results: 81,795 impressions / 834 views / 102 subscribers. Those are all solely from the promotion as per CZcams's analytics. I often get 102 subscribers in two days without giving CZcams $200, so for me the results of this experiment indicate that promoting a video is not at all worth it-not even close. The CTR for the promotion is also a very paltry 1.02%, which is much lower than I typically get from CZcams's regular, unpaid promotion of my videos. It is also worth noting that I have not seen the drastic drop in ad revenue or discoverability that other creators mention. My channel has had steady growth in all areas since I started it almost four years ago. I feel very fortunate in this respect.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE "OLDEST TO NEWEST" FILTER ON PEOPLE'S CHANNELS. Every time I come across a new-to-me channel that I really like, I want to see how their channel started out without having to swipe for days just to get to their early videos. PLEASE!!

It's a nightmare imo. I've 114k subscribers and it's taken 11 years to grow organicly. I was getting 10k subs a week and it was amazing. Now I'm loosing 60 subs a week and views are down massively since this promotion thing hit. It feels like if we don't pay youtube per video. Our channels die

Already feeling this at 9 subs but it's stagnant. Part of it is me not uploading for two weeks. The other 90% is this stuff blowing me off the radar like a spec.

As someone who legit has hardly any views or subs or even retention, OR MONEY, I'm being thrown into another pool filled with others who apparently won't get views either. So you're going to... ask for money for me to even start to show my worth or work... and I will still hardly get up there... Nope...
Biggest takeaway -
Promotions streamlines a creator's ad tools, but in the end if you're not working on your ability to make good videos, the people that you spend money to get in front of will leave just as quickly as they arrived.

Your videos would obviously have to be good for this to work at all therefore it's not a pay to play feature. If you promote a video and the content is good, maybe you will get new viewers, whilst if the video is bad no one is going to care. The biggest concern I have is botnets auto subscribing to ads and leaving tons of dead subs which might affect natural growth.

This was done in Ecamm using the built in video call feature. 👍 That is a Mac tool but you can use vMix on PC for the same results!

No, you only pay for the promotions you sign up for.
