Like it or not this car is definitely not some cookie-cutter common car that you see everywhere. The Grenadier is like a Greatest Hits album for offroaders. Lots of styling cues from other brands with a touch of originality mixed in.

What some people forget or didn't realize in the first place is this vehicle is meant to be a safari/ exploration vehicle. Its meant for expeditions and going in the bush. It's not designed for rock crawling or racing or grocery getting. So those are the criteria by which it should be judged.

It's ment for safari in the bush. But we have a BMW engine? Like this will need the dealership for everything. We're are they located in the bush? Wow can't even check the oil must cross your fingers the computer is perfect. I can see the dealership saying you though something was wrong so you started the vehicle now internal engine damage. You ran the vehicle so we're not covering it. Estimate to repair $15000. Service advisor states you should of brought the car in diagnostic fee $219 tow in because you can't check the oil $289. Plus $90000 to purchase mind-blowing

Yeah the BMW engine that needs to be dealer serviced and can't be serviced in the bush very well seems to be a poor choice. The rest of the design features are pretty good though for the intended purpose.

It's not for everyone, and it's pricey. Everyone knows that buying a new vehicle is a gamble, especially for a new manufacturer. But you have to test drive one, do research on the parts used. Just by opening and closing the door, you know the build quality is there. 1 month owner, head turner, and conversation starter when I park anywhere. When not disabled, the bottle cap click noise above speed limit drives me nuts though.

The peanut gallery comments are entertaining. It is, in many ways, a parts bin car. The part people seem to forget is that the parts being pulled out of the bin are some of the best available. Also, the engineering juggernaut Magna Steyr did the most of the engineering heavy lifting.
The Grenadier clearly has some quirks, but all signs actually point to it being a good overall package. What remains to be determined is timely parts availability, overall serviceability, and total value for dollar.
If I was replacing my SUV, I would probably lean toward the GX550. That said, the main bearing issues that seem to be affecting the V35A are concerning. The 4 door offroad SUV market finally has some options. We should all rejoice for having choice again if nothing else.

Ben, we are familiar with your rapid vehicle changes and your short loved romances with your latest purchase(s).
We are just concerned that you and your family will end up living under a bridge eating ramen noodles for your one meal a day. On that note, I warned you before you purchased this suv with concerns about dealership servicing network, parts are a minimum of 6 months wait and its a 1st year model . oh, and the steering drift on center. One positive is that the bmw engine they use for your suv is their most reliable one so it should do quite well, for a while at least.
Considering Toyotas new LC /first edition is a coming in close to 80k but comes with a
retarded 4cyl/ turbo/hybrid, I'd say you made the better choice. But you have to keep the vehicle at least 5 yrs so you arent upsidedown with negative equity.
And don't generalize everyone as being uneducated haters. We are outside your fish bowl looking in and are just trying to warn you of things you may not have considered. Thats called useful information, not a dig at your choices. Hell, I was considering getting a Grenadier myself until I researched it more. Maybe a few model years later I might.

BMW engine grenades it for me talk about something that will be an endless money pit you are going to find that out unless you get rid of it before it hits 100k miles. They look cool and well made off road wise, but choosing a German engine was a bad idea! People seem to thing the German engineering is great which it false they have not been great since the 70's, 80's, and some early 90's when they used to build bullet proof engines. Should have used Toyota or Honda engines IMO:P

Toyotas new turbo engines are having issues, and the same for Honda. The b58 has been so reliable since about 2015 that Toyota trusted bmw to work together on the mark 5 Supra.

@@josephsamsor1698 Toyota is not having widespread issues they are having some issues with a few of their engines. People forget Toyota is now the largest auto manufacturer in the World so when you take into account how many are sold and how many have failed it is still tiny. Toyota has also proven over the years to perfect their engines over time to near bullet proof. Only one turbo engine has given Toyota the most problems and that is the current new Tundra and still the amount of failures to total amount sold without failures is tiny. For Toyota to maintain its reliable name and be the largest auto maker is unheard of yet they have done it. Only issues Honda has had is fuel getting into the crankcase from HP fuel pumps easily corrected by earlier oil change intervals and these problems are faced by every single auto maker using direct injection. Also German parts are mostly patented designs so your forced to pay the high prices they choose when they break you do not have a choice in many cases. Proprietary parts is German trash engines achillis heal. Yes I am a real German engine hater they have not made reliable bullet proof engines since the early 70's and 80's. I have seen people time and time again realize after buying a BMW they made a huge mistake. Yes they ride better and deliver a different driving experience, but the lack of reliability and cost to repair is just stupid:P

The vehicle's main purpose is to separate suckers from their cash. Ineos will be out of business within 5 years. I'll be on the lookout for your future video: Why I'm getting rid of my Ineos Grenadier.

Awesome! Limited production value during a period of societal shift towards the 150k-10m annual earners. It's a high ticket item built for high worth individuals by a high worth individual. There will always be a market for this vehicle with the disposable income crowd.
