This song was always played to me as a kid by my dad, he passed away 4 days ago and I'm listening with happy tears. Will have this playing at his funeral. 😇
When I was 6, my dad had to live in london during the week because we lived really far away and that's where he worked. So he would visit us every weekend, and on sunday, he would grab his computer and headphones, and we would listen to music together. He showed me this song, and many others, but this one always stuck with me, and even though my dad doesnt have to live on his own in london anymore, he lives with us now, it still makes me remember that melancholy feeling, of how I was happy to be with my dad, but I was sad that I couldn't always be with him. It just shows u how special family is, and how much those tiny moment mean.
i remember listening to this in my bedroom when i was all of 12 years old. it was time for bed but had this on cassette and had a little radio/cd player. i listened to it, then stopped, rewound, and pressed play atleast 5 times... the next day i mentioned to mum that i was digging this song and she said yeah i heard the clicking :)
Armando Blue Osenator told about how the 50s and 80s were the best music to him, so I responded with what piece of music was best for me. I was simply showing empathy.
Ah, there are actually two reasons behind that, 1 being that many other people were telling their ages and what era their songs are, I felt to share a little story of my life which leads me to reason 2, my old algebra teacher called me an "old soul", being an old man trapped in a young body, thus I started sharing the rest of my favorite songs with him, he was astonished as to how far back I was in the times of music, and most people don't think someone as young as me would be into a song that came out in 1938-1939. They'd expect something from current times. Sorry if I sparked your interest, and sorry for this long ass story, hope you understand now, have a good day, alright?
This song reminds me of my Grandparents. I remembered how they slow dancing while this song play on radio. For sure they're dancing up in heaven rn as i play this song :) Good old days🤧
Yes, modern songs may be longer but do you really want to play most of them a second time?? Just put the OLDIES Tunes on and tap the replay / auto button and enjoy the greatest songs that will ever be produced..
One of the reasons why i loved Fallout. The music fits but also there short and sweet. I can listen to a playlist of my old songs for hours without getting bored. Especially Guy Mitchell.
I’m born in the most powerful generation, where I can see informartions I want with the tip of my finger, to see what’s new in our world, news, politics, entertainment and technology happening in the future while also being able to watch very old audio recordings, and videos from the 90’s not buying any stocks of inconvenient discs, at the “tip of my finger”
I cry everytime I hear this...it reminds me of my great grandma who passed away it played at her funeral she basically raised me I want her alive so much she was always there for me
My grandmother used to sing this to me before she passed. I just thought about it and started singing it, and then i ended up here. I miss her so much and this just brings back so much for me.
Dream dream dream, dreeeeeeaaaamm... :) Woke up one morning out of my sleep, and I had to just listen to this, then went back to sleep happy... :) Forever a classic! I dedicate this to my baby-girl that I cherish and love with all my heart. ❤️ #OldSpirit

I remember when I was little my mom would put this on while me and her were cleaning the kitchen and we would always sing along, sure does bring back memories😅
I agree, it is a shame isn't it? The younger ones tend to mock it, but it is real beauty. And I guess they'll never be poetic enough to see it that way.
Hey buddy,Thanks a Million..! I just have finished the series of "Lost Ollie"..& the song tittled with 'Dream' just touched my heart..& i was just searching the song with lyrics & now when i've got that on here than I just can't express my feelings..my emotions. My tears came out hearing the song at the dead end of that series. Thanks Buddy💝💝
I was in elementary school back in the 1970's when I first heard this song. I use to play this song over and over and sing to it. Love the song and the lyrics. Timeless classic. Peace
At last the original recording of All I have to do is dream. No one has ever come that close in turning a beautiful song of pure and simple words into true feelings. Thank you, Don and Phil for this everlasting gift to the world and to me.
Ah, the incomparable Everley Brothers. Lovely to hear the actual original, produced by the great Archie Bleyer and issued on his Cadence label. Thanks very much flikchick83 for the happy memories from way back.
