thanks kimba! for the post. I will miss all your postings of Emerdale. It was because of you that I got to watch the best acting I had ever seen on any soap, including here in the USA. That story line with Aaron and Jackson was just so moving and compelling. I have never been so moved by any characters on any tv story line like Emerdale has had with that one. I hope Danny makes it to the USA sometime soon. He and the other actor that played jackson are WINNERS
No one can ever replace Danny and we only have 3 months ro prepare to possibly of losing this show. Can they find anyone to do what he has done as Aaron. That is dougtful and may mean the show tanks in the ratings. Wishing Danny and the show the best.

Speaking from a gay man's point of view, I do believe Aaron is a credible gay character - everyone is different when the come out and don't all embrace it right away - danny said it himself that Aaron is a homophobic homosexual - also he was never a sweet, lightfooted person - he was a rough, aggressive, mischeivious lad - he'll always have some issues because he's got Dingle DNA - it would be nice to see the character have a partner but he needs to deal with a few issues first before he's able
I quite like the idea of him leaving with Hazel to go explore the world. Then he can come back in 2 or so years, more mature & maybe with a partner in tow. I agree he's a weird gay character. It's like his being gay was a "bit" and not a part of who the character is. So it will be great to see a new older more comfortable in the role actor play Aaron as a fully three dimensional gay character. Imagine a Brit soap having a worldwide following for a couple like Chrolli, Ludwin, Carenny or DeRo.
I really really hope they don't kill him. That way he might be able to come back like Olli did on VL. Hopefully it won't take half a decade though and be more like Sam coming back mid season on Glee. I don't want Aaron to go. He's the only character who I know everything about on this soap and to be honest the other characters aren't that interesting. Except Chas.
@kendon0923 I agree I think his character should have an accident that disfigures him then make him do plastic surgery, then have a new actor play Aaron ( like they do in mexican soaps) lol

Months and months have gone and they still come back here to talk shit about somebody´s work (critically acclaimed in soapland whether you like it or not), that´s what I call being pressed at somebody´s success! lol
@mmatoz212 I really really want to argue with that but I can't. But hey Aaron's the only reason I watched Emmerdale. Well him and Chas. The show isn't really that interesting without him. I hope they replace him soon. Btw couldn't they have just recast him with an actor that was ok playing gay. I don't think Aaron is big enough to be too big to be replaced.
Not a huge amount. Mainly other itv shows, Lightfields, Scott & Bailey, Jamaica Inn, then ended up doing a bit of Panto, played Prince Charming in Cinderalla. Oh and he did a film called Cruel Summer which looks quite good. Wish he got more of a break to be honest and the chance to do some big films because he's so talented, but then again so glad he's back on emmerdale, he's the main reason I watch!
I have seen many soap actors leave and eventually come back. The one thing about a soap is that it is a steady acting job and if you are given great writing and story lines to work with then that is every actors dream. The problem is when you do movies or other television work you are always waiting for your next job so I can see why the steady work of a soap would be enticing even if the pay is less.

I find it hypocritical for you to generalize what all 20 year old guys are like, and then accuse someone else of speaking for a certain group of people. I felt the Jackson and Aaron relationship was false it seemed to me the actors were uncomfortable playing a gay role. I also feel the Aaron character is too unrealistic a young gay guy only 20 years old is going to want to have sex. The excuse Emmerdale will use is Aaron is grieving. The whole Aaron gay storyline was terrible and homophoboic.
@canisrufus I disagree with your opinion because your view is your own you don't speak for all homosexuals. It seems to me Danny Miller wasn't comfortable taking on a gay role it is obvious. The Aaron and Jackson relationship was terrible very awkward. Emmerdale ignores the SEXUAL side of Aaron. The writers want the public to believe Aaron is now asexual he's grieving over Jackson. Okay, this is true but forever? Aaron is only 20 years old young guys have a sex drive.
@kendon0923 not really but if you look at other actors straight playing gay like Emmet J Scan for example his credibility is just sad lets face the truth the only reason he is leaving his role is because he does not wants an on screen partner, and they can't explain why a guy that looks like him would be alone for such a long time, they keel milking Jackson forever PS when he did kiss Jackson it was life some frat that lost a bet not a gay guy
