The bleeding on the shiny ribbons (looked like satin weave) was probably due to “capillary action” as the ink from the pen travelled along the fibre before it finally dried. The rib-weave ribbon has a tighter weave. Also wondered whether the bleach pen needed to be activated with water…like spritz it? Was checking this out before making a purchase as I was wondering about this as an item in a textiles classroom for some of the more artistic students to draw their own designs on cotton and whether one had to heat set the ink before washing…to make sure it did not fade after 5 washes. The more gifted students would be a little choked if artwork disappeared after 5 washes.

When they do through the wash do they fade/leak/wash out (I mean the non-wash out ones)?

good question, have to be honest I did notice some fading after a few washes
