I apparently am (3 times got that result) and I have the theory that INFJ's are the personality type most likely to take the test and that's why about every second person is an INFJ or INFJ is just secretly the most common personality type (which would make sense since I don't think I am either special or rare)

yeah I think this was the 4th or 5th test I've taken within the last 2 years. Still an INFJ. And regarding the "rarity" of infjs... there are 1% INFJs. With 7.8 billion people on this earth, that makes 78.3 million lol. Also INFJ seem to be the most interested in their type hence why so on here seem to be INFJs :)

I surely can't be the only INFJ who took way too long to take the test because my initial thought to nearly every question was, "Well, it depends..."
And then maybe went back and took the test again, and then tried a different test only for every single one to tell me, "Yes, you are still the type that struggles with your identity, so please stop."

no, literally! I think every time I take a test to determine my type it ends up taking what feels like the better part of an hour- I can't count the number of times I haven't been happy with the answer options and have said "ugh, well it really depends on x y and z" then worry that I wasn't truthful. But then I'd still be like "omg this is so accurate" after getting my results lol
OMG!!!!! That test was painful!! I literally needed a “it depends” option on the majority of the questions….. I got INFP… but. Other tests have told me I’m an INFJ and I feel like I was overthinking every single question… or I didn’t know what to pick because there were no analogies to define the choices… and now I’m just confused and to take like 10 more tests.. just to be sure.
The problem of us, INFJ, when it comes to these personality test, is that we are too afraid that we are not truthful enough. That's why i've taken a lot of MBTIs though the results will always be the same, INFJ.

I have noticed that real INFJs do not care about being special, which is ironic given how many people delude themselves into thinking they are an INFJ, just because it is rare and unique.

@@Flaimbot Well said, as Fi blind (I am an ENTP) I always found identity and pride on being unique as the weirdest and silliest thing ever. Of course, I am always drawn to different people because I am a curious person by nature, but there is no inherent value on being unique. When the curiosity fades away and I see the person for what it is, an stagnant person using its uniqueness to excuse their lack of value as a person. I have found recently that a lot of "boring" people on the outside has a lot of depth on the inside, INFJs are a great example of that. The real ones (not the I want to be special kind) might seem like a normal person on the outside, that just seems nice and reserved, but when you get to know them, you open up the floodgates to lots and lots of depth inside.

@@kaboomgaming4255 when you do take the test, i advice you to take it in multiple pages, and the result you get the most is the most accurate one, though it is possible to have two or even three or four personalities that could be the most accurate, for me, it said that im infp/infj, but personally i relate more to infp so i just say im an infp, so yes:)

16 personalities/Myers-Briggs is fun, but not scientific at all, that’s why. It has no validity, so people are bound to get different results when they retake it. Take the Big 5 personality test, which is what real life psychologists use. There’s nothing wrong with you at all :).

Mbti is like psychology categorization. So it has truth in it. Difference is we are human. Even you are 90% introverted person but 10% of you want to be extroverted. So yeah, Human is not a clear cut personalities. but like some mix
thats what happens when you answer with what you THINK you do. but if you answer according to what you actually do, its more accurate. also, check the percentages. you may be teetering on the 49%/51% mark (E/I, S/N, T/F, J/P), so its easier to shift your introvert/extrovert priorities depending on the situation.

INFJ's are all about~~~ "No wonder, everything makes sense now" when they first find their personality type.... Finding spiritually and physically who we are, trying to figure out our own individuality and trying to prove our unique sense of existence is very important to us because , we are always wanting to brush up our existence where we know people would understand us.... this is most possible in comment sections of INFJ or all personality oriented videos, because we feel recognized without being bothered... So, these comment sections are always somewhat loaded with INFJ comments even with us being rare.... because our personality type directly targets these types of videos, which makes us feel understood and not weird. At least we don't suffer from identity crisis anymore......!!!!!

I think you're correct to an extent. You also need to realise that INFJs get mistyped a lot with INFP (I was mistyped with INFP until recently), and people like pretending to be the (former) 'rarest' personality type because 'so quirky and different, omgg'. Real INFJs, honestly, just eye roll at the stereotypes and the people that think they're unique.

INFJ is so true, my mbti describes so unnervingly well and now I know why I consider myself very different, I AM the rarest personality type and I don't know if it's just me but I have this superiority complex when it comes to my mbti. "omg I'm an infj too!" and then I'm like "no you're not? IM the rare one, MY experiences are more complex than YOU, I AM the only one who thinks this way, NOT YOU. I AM the terribly nice, empathetic and understanding one, IM more rare than YOU" even if I know the other person is also an infj 😭 Don't get me wrong, I am a very considerate and kind person but it is just what my mind immediately goes to when thinking that my experiences are not just my own, and that I am very much not alone. Sounds positive, right? But I hate it. I want to be different, I want to be my own, I want to be alone even though I KNOW it is not healthy. But not everyone is healthy, right? and that's okay
Knowing you have a problem is the first step to solving it :) INFJ is 2% of the general population (supposedly- no idea how they would know that) which is over 150 million people on Earth. Of course there are a lot of differences between them. You're unique for other reasons but not just because of your mbti personality type.

Depends on the person. An idiot that doesn't put any effort into life? I'll step on them all day, though with one of those stepping on them doesn't really raise you up much so it's almost a moot point. Someone whose really trying but still struggling? I'll help them. I've found helping people that are genuinely trying actually tends to get you farther than stepping on them. You just have to be a good judge of character to see which ones are worth helping, that being said as an INTJ judging people's character accurately comes naturally to me.

Oh man. This literally gave me flashbacks of that “My Future Life” form we all did in middle school where I wrote that I wanted ZERO kids. I was the only one who wrote zero next to “How many kids do you want?” and yes, I was kept after class. And forced to make an appointment with a guidance counselor. If I had a penny for every “You’ll change your mind when you’re older,” I’d be a childless millionaire bc no, Karen, I didn’t change my mind and there’s nothing wrong with not wanting kids.

What was wrong with them? Are they idiots or something? You probably went to shity school like me. I was bullied heavily bullied, and their answer was "Three of them are telling me one thing, and you are telling another, so they are right." When I said that every one of them was telling a different story, even though they were listening what the bullies before them were saying, the answer was: "Whenever you ask two people the same question, they will always have different answers because no two people are seeing the world with the same eyes, but differently." There were also many incidents like yours.
Geography teacher teaching us about the importance of faith (only catholic one, of course), how women should stay home with the children, and how the catholic church is the best friend of Croatian people. This was not a catholic school, and the catholic church, I already knew was a parasite that was making our lives difficult.
There was also the history teacher telling us that the condoms don't protect you from any type of STD, the pill is causing abortions before you even knew you were pregnant. Also, most of the women going to the artificial insemination have became infertile because they went to abort the child/ren, so they don't deserve to have a second chance because they have already proven themselves to be bad mothers.
You could only get the job in this school with "connection" so there were no good teachers there. Just religious fanatics. The principal had even said to our parents that the "goodly teachers are the best, no matter how bad they were at teaching" when the parents were complaining about children learning nothing in technical science class. "The faith is more important to us than knowing how to repair a broken computer."
I begged my parents to send me to another school, but they haven't. I still haven't forgiven them for that, even though the decade and a half had passed after I left this "Majority is always right, even when they are wrong" children brainwashing institution.
When I left that school I was so happy. I was smart enough to choose the best school around. At the age of 14 I already knew that the best schools aren't the ones with the most students going into the engineering, medical, law or other fancy schools afterwards. How the students were treated is more important than that. Not just because of the fact that those schools are the ones that have the best students entering, but also because of the fact that your mental health is more important than the average results on the college entrance exam. If you study, those would be great no matter what school you went to. That is why I went into the "school number 4" that was in reality much better than the 3 schools "ahead of mine" in the city. We were treated so much differently than we would be in other schools. We either liked our school, or were satisfied with the fact that we chose well.
I would rather go there even if it was not "a nerd school" than going into "the best school" where students were dropping out of to go to the easier schools like flies. This was the only reason why the results on the enterance exams were so great.

Emily I have no idea. Thinking back on it now I’m realizing just how messed up that assignment was. It’s fine to encourage kids to dream and explore ideas for their future but this wasn’t that. It was very specific questions about your future like what job do you want, where do you want to live, when do you want to get married, how many kids do you want, etc. “How many kids do you want?” That question feels like it’s assuming I want them, right? It was asking for a number though and zero is a number. Like I was literally 12 lol why are you asking me these things? It was even worse bc my family was notified and my mom was literally like, ‘You’ll change your mind when you meet a man.’ Like hi mom, I’m not even straight so...yikes (and even if I was I still wouldn’t want kids). They all made me feel like I did something wrong. I refused to change my answer on the assignment after discussing it with the guidance counselor though so I was forced to write an additional essay about the pros and cons of having children. Like what tf.
I. K. Omg I am so sorry to hear of your experience. It is so cruel and unfair. I wish someone had helped you with the bullying, especially when you were so brave to ask for the help. It makes me sick to think that they believed bullies and gave such ridiculous excuses for not helping a child. :( That misinformation about sex education is also horrifying. I know what you mean though - my family doctor when I was growing up said people should put holes in condoms bc it was a sin otherwise (and this was of course for married people only, or I should say a married man and woman bc he didn’t believe in marriage equality). It always blows my mind bc these are the same people who are against abortion! Like they don’t want people to get education on how to have safe sex but they also don’t want people terminating unwanted pregnancies?? It’s so illogical and crazy. It disturbs me so much that not only that but they gave you wrong information! I am so glad you survived and made it out of that school, away from all of those harmful people and things. I hope so much things are going better for you these days.
I‘m ENTP and I‘ve done the thing at 2:31 a dozen of times, just to convince my friends the test makes no sense.
And yess the test is shit lol, I get different results if I take the test imagining myself in different situations and conversations.
I once took a personality test and the question was, "Do you have a hard time making decisions?" After thinking for a minute I said, "I'll have to come back to that one later..." 😅

I’m INFJ and have been in an INFJ group before. What I can say despite the lettering everyone is still different from the where they live, grew up, what they read etc. You are still your own person but with the INFJ working mind. One thing Frank mentioned is our biases towards patterns wanting things to fit into those patterns. I’ve learnt to loosen those pattern biases.
As much asI feel ashamed for it, I must admit that I’ve had similar thoughts as an INFP. If I see an INFP who doesn’t act like an INFP at all, I start doubting them.
I’d never tell that directly to them though because I don’t want them to feel excluded. At the same time, I worry about them having harder time figuring out themselves if they mistyped.
My infj friend doesn’t even tell me how upset he gets when I mention someone is an infj, it takes away from the feeling of all these years of being a unique loner; is what I think you guys feel/process the new info. However, don’t dislike my infj friend ☺️ and have a nice day.

- does more research
- becomes obsessed/ becomes a fangirl-/boy
- does more research and finally finds nice articles that actually seem to be authentic
- reads the other nonsense-articles anyways (because it's fun and Ni-Ti is having a good time)

At the end of the day is still confused whether they are an Infj or not.
Edit: Alas, we'll maybe never know what type we are and whether or not we are an INFJ. But who can know for sure? So let's not put ourselves in a box. Instead, see this typology as a means to understand others and improve yourself. In the end, it's not about what type you are. But who YOU are.

I took the test and got INFJ and after hearing other explanations of what INFJ's are it did actually help me to understand why I felt different from everyone and why there seemed to be a barrier preventing me from explaining myself or being understood by anybody except my dad who is the same way. I don't say I'm INFJ just cause I want to be rare because it hasn't been fun when the differences really show themselves and I'm unable to feel understood by even my closest friends
