Great video, thank you! I knew the 20% wasn't for me, but I wanted to see a good comparison between the 5% and the 10% and this pretty thoroughly convinced me that 10% is the way to go.
20% is wayyyy too much. Honestly the 5% looks perfect. I appreciate the vid
This was incredibly helpful. And the different lighting situations you used them in was enough to show me which one I should buy for my typical shooting situations. Thank you.
I have an A7S III, but I don’t do photography, I write and direct stuff. That being said, I love how you showcased the filters. For most of my stuff, I’d do without the filters, but for flashback scenes, dream sequences and scenes where my characters may be on mind altering substances I’d gladly use these filters in conjunction with Sirui Anamorphic Cine lenses. Thanks for the upload, now I know what to get myself for Christmas.
Can’t wait!
Thanks for the great video. Was deciding between 5% and 10% and this was helpful. 10% it is.
This was such a well-made, helpful video--Thank you so much! Grabbing myself a 10% filter after watching, and a couple step up rings for my smaller lenses.
Can't go wrong with the 10%. Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! I think the 20% would be it for me :) Love the dreamy look :O
Thanks for making this video. I've been wanting to buy one of these diffusion filters for awhile, but haven't been able to see all three strengths of Cinebloom compared. This was a great comparison.
I’m glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
This was very helpful. Getting started with buying camera gear and this was super informative and showed lots of examples. Great video man
Side-by-side comparisons were extremely helpful. Thank you.
dam this is the best f'in video on these filters. im defintely coppin the 20% it looks like cinestill 800T film shots. thanks.
Best cinebloom filter comparison video!
Thank you.
Thank you for that! 🙏🏾
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CREATE SUCH A COMPLETE TEST AND SHARE YOUR WISDOM WITH THE UNIVERSE!!!!
Thank you!
I've been looking at these for wedding photography and loved the video! It's made my mind up, I'm going to pick the 10% filter up, get them dreamy couple portraits in
Glad I could help. Happy shooting!
This was perfect to watch before my purchase!
Kudos to the model...The poses are expressions are top class.
I was looking at the 10% pretty hard until I saw your video. Nice presentation btw. But I think the 5% is the winner for my taste of shooting landscapes...just a touch. I can imagine what it will do to a foggy oak hammock at first light. And yet...a close subject is still sharp enough. Winner winner chicken dinner.
Edit: Love your tree...although it's May now.
I love the 5% alot! & Thank you for watching and for the love on the Xmas tree!
Great!! Thank you!! Happy Holidays!!
Thanks for watching and Happy Holidays!
super helpful, thanx so much !!
Great video really helped with the purchase decision. 5% for night shoots for our cameras, and 20% for our daytime portrait shots.
Thanks for watching and glad the video could help!
nice work ! thank you for sharing I just got 10% yesterday in the mail I think I'm going to get a 5 also
Thank You, very informative and precise - and the model is cool.
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
5% for me. I think it looks similar to Black Mist 1/4 and is the most versatile type
Great comparison, appreciate video and photography side by sides
Appreciate it! & thanks for watching!
Thanks D for this very comprehensive and informative video on the Cinebloom diffusion filter, I am currently using an R5 with a RF 100mm Macro for head and shoulder shots and I ordered the 5% as it just seems to fit my taste. I shoot in Milwaukee, My fave spot for location work is at Marquette Universities Joan of Arc chapel
The 5% is a phenomenal option. Happy shooting! && I heard the Chapel is pretty dope. Might have to check it out one of these days. Thanks for watching.
@@DCaldwellPhotography Thanks for the reply D, I shoot at the Joan mostly during the golden hour doing impromptu portraiture work so perhaps our paths will cross one day
Cool comparison - thanks for posting photos and videos of each. Dig the Cinebloom look. Your model did a great job.
Gotta fix that video audio tho, not sure how it came out so poor from those Rode Wireless Go's... sounds like echoey camera audio yick.
Appreciate the feedback! && thank you for watching!
From everything I’ve seen on these filters, that 10% seems to be the sweet spot imho. 👍🏾
Nice comparison. I'm thinking now betweem this and Nisi's mist filter. Do every glow filter have that hard reflection what we can see here when shooting the advertisment lights background? That's very annoying becaue it deletes almost completely the model.
thanks!
You have a mic on your shirt, yer the sound is coming from another recording seems it seems.
20%👌@night cine vibe
Hi ! nice video can you tell me the name of the sound that start at 3.53 ? Thanks
Milwaukee REPRESENT! Let's link up.
I'm gonna go with the 10% and if i feel the bloom is too strong, I can always use the dehaze slider in lightroom I'm gonna assume.. I mean, i'm really close to getting the 5 but maybe i go the extra strength 10 and just add contrast back in post if needed. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the great comparison vid, probably the best i've seen.
Appreciate this! & thank you for watching.
İ think so, i wanna buy 10 and 20. 10 for all around use and 20 for strong effect.
@@ilyasguner2267 I have the 10 for a 50mm lens now and it's very similar to my pro mist 1/4. I haven't post processed any images yet but on the back of my camera screen they share a very similar look to my eye. I think if you have the budget to grab the 20 it would be good for stylized looks
@@MC-hr1py I'll get 20 for sure, but i think it might be overkill often, i think it's pretty strong (it makes me feel like I'm walking at a really foggy night in 1800s because of the rdr2 probably) it feels to old and nostalgic which i loved but I'd use it in certain situations. And when i think it's overkill im planning to use 10. Are my thoughts practical? Never used any filters before.
I have been using the Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/8 - but I'm looking to put a filter on each lens that does not get removed so I'm needing to purchase more. Moment is more affordable than Tiffen so I'm leaving more towards them in order to get a solid set up. It's almost looking like the 5% reacts like the 1/8, the 10% like the 1/4 and the 20% like the 1/2. Do you have any experience with Tiffen to see which you think is closest to the 1/8 Pro Mist?
I believe per a thread from Moment I saw awhile back; the 10% would be closer to the 1/2. & the 20% is closer to the Pro Mist 1. You definitely have me intrigued. I'd be interested in making a comparison video between the 2 brands' filters. & I actually have a short using the Pro Mist 1/4. --> czcams.com/users/shortstKRjSaNaeJQ?feature=share
Thanks for watching!
I own the 20% and it is more than 1/2 tiffen. Closer to 1. Very strong look, doesn't work in every scene even if you want to be artsy! I'd go 10% if I was you.
God she is so beautiful....
Hello
I recently order Cinebloom 20% and i haven’t try it.
I want to know is 5% is the best one before I order?
It definitely depends on your usage case. Best way to get a feel for if it's best is to just get out and test. I bought the 20% first before the other two and had to figure out where it performs the best. Based on that I then purchased the 10% and then the 5% when it was released.
There’s some serious ghosting with some of the neon lights. It’s like it’s creating a lens flare in the shape of the letters. Not a good look. This isn’t the only video I noticed this on either. Think I’ll skip these filters… Thanks for doing this video man!
I hear you. For example on minute 6:00 of this video when she's in front of the neon lights there are all these reflections around her jacket area. I just saw another video today of this guy comparing the Tiffin Black Pro mist against the Cinebloom and they both had these reflections at night. I wonder if other brands have similar results..
Hahaha! Yeah the reflections from the neon signs were cool at first but more I look at the photos, the more I'm like "eh" lol. Thank you both for watching.
Thanks for the nice review. I take it that Rode didn't work, ha ha
was the mic on?
Thanks for sharing. Nice ! Loving that music…..Title please?
Thanks for watching Kevin. There’s 2 songs in the video. Which are you referring to? It’s on Epidemic, so just lmk and I’ll get the title over to you. 👍🏿 Appreciate the continued support!
Can you send the title of the 2 songs to me as well? Great comparison video!
İf u had to choose only 2 of them what would your pick be?
Definitely the 10% and 20%. Bought the 20% first a while back and bought the 10% a little while after that.
@@DCaldwellPhotography i thought so, 5is pretty but most of people wouldn't even tell that it's there
😅
Damn, why is the 5% looking like the best percentage. I feel like 20% is way too much
The 20% is definitely a specific type of filter. 😅 thanks for watching!
5% and the 10% is perfect. 20% seems a bit much to me.
What’s stopping me from buying them is that when there’s lights the light reflects on the actual glass
Ah yeah, the reflections... can be hit or miss. Some folks love the artistic look it gives. Just depends on what you're looking for. But i feel you. Thanks for watching! 👍🏾
polarizer?
@@DCaldwellPhotography Did you use a step up ring for these, or was this straight on the lens?
Hey man, I a producer for cine filter, and I do many diffusion filters, like the Pearlescent/Glimmer Glass/Digital Diffusion/TOBACCO/Antique Suede, and so on , totally 17 kinds of diffusion filters . Are you interested in talk with me ?
Sure! Just shoot me an email and we can go from there.
Personally anything about 10% is just overdone. Only very special needs requires that. 5% for me is suitable for most shooting and it's very subtle.
So much talk about these filters but non showed the real differences between the % as clearly as your video.
Thank you!
pffff i dude if tiffen promist 1/4 or these cinebloom diffusion .... fantastic video
Sound, Sound, Sound smh. Great info and video but the sound.
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching! Happy Holidays!
This was super helpful, thank you for such a detailed video! 🫶🏼
Thank you for watching!
