Those were nice cars, affordable luxury on its time and quite fast. I had one like this one and it was very comfortable, the speedometer might say 85mph top speed, but if you floor it you can tell you are doing at least 100mph, the needle just bouncing at the bottom way past the 85. During that era, American cars still had some quality in them. Sadly, American cars are neither as reliable or as luxurious as they used to be. For those who might say that back then american cars weren't reliable, at least they were easier to work on, and parts were cheaper.
89’ was the last year of the M-Body; and the the first and only year it was offered with a driver side airbag before being swapped over to the New Yorker K-body
They had these as Executive Loaner Cars along with black Lincoln Continentals when I worked at Universal Studios in the 80s and I longed to drive one.. even though they basicly were retooled and tarted up Dodge Aspens.. they were beautiful. I can say I've driven a heck of a lot of cars.. except one of these to this day..
What's up with the rocker panel molding?Did somebody paint it body color or is it gone?Should be aluminum chrome trim. And it should be replaced as I'm sure you were asking a pretty penny for this car with it being at a dealership and all.....Just go to the Mopar Nationals and get a 5th Ave much cheaper than a stealership.
That poor, poor 318. The 318 in that car was designed in an era where smog control didn't exist. This engine, just like the rest were literally choked out of existence, and you can tell just by listening. In fact the slant six, was bogged down so much, they had to get rid of it, bc it became so badly underpowered due to gov. regulations. The big V8s were choked to the point where it killed the muscle car era, and a 440 struggled to move a camper. I should know, my pap had one, and it only went 65, give or take, and it was a 77'.
The 88-89 could go about 95-100mph. 11 seconds 0-60. The car was actually the lightest full sized luxury sedan at the time in the US. It was only 3600 pounds.
What’s the difference between the Fifth Avenue and New Yorker? As an 80’s kid this is one of smoothest cars I’ve ever rode in with pillow top velvet like seats, like Buick & Oldsmobile had
Didn't know Mike was selling! 😂😂 Even has the red interior just like in the show
Mike from Breaking Bad
David H mikes car isn’t a Lebaron?

I used to love these. Very much like Caddy Sevilles.
These cars very beautiful and amazing
Seems like 88 and 89 they made a few changes to make interior a little nicer and more comfortable

Mike must have had Nacho’s dad work on the car after all. The upholstery looks great!
I have a ‘89 Chrysler New Yorker 5th Avenue. Still in great shape!

Thanks for the interesting info!
That is clean but I prefer the plush seats over the leather ones
Yeah, that plush velour is the dope!
@@craiga7652 Chrysler referred to it as Kimberly velour.

Awesome Car
I'm interested to buy this car.. Please how much the price
I bought one new back in the day. Ive owned several caddys, but the Fifth Ave was a much better car. I would own another in a heart beat.
I am not a Chrysler fan, nor a fan of non-modern cars, but I’d gladly make an exception for this one.
Would have been glad to get one of those brand new in that day.
Looks ULTRA COMFORTABLE. An American Classic.
This is pop-pop mike's ride lol
What a beautiful car.

Ok, so it's really a Volare! But isn't a Sedan Deville actually a Caprice?
Water spots or pit marks on the bumpers, not cute.
Have you sold this car Yet???
Is it for sale?

Why can’t the interior of cars look like this anymore? SMH
Great question... It could be answered as follows: Luxury is now measured by technological and connectivity attributes.

Heloo Masar appropriate to this car
Ultimate dodge Aspen / Dart
The Dart had nothing whatsoever to do with the F/M/J. The M body was a reengineered F body.

Music is CHEESY. I’d rather no music and someone explaining the features of the car. Where are the rocker trim pieces???
