Yarder logging and ground base logging, for all to enjoy Thanks for watching. czcams.com/users/danielmb... King5 Logger legends interview )))) • Logger legends live on... #loggerlegends
We log on the in the very steep mountains of Virginia and we have to road everything for the skidders I've spent many hours on a 525B and 525C. I run a Cat 320C excavator with a grapple saw now to shovel and top to the skidders.
No new skid trail building is allowed in California anymore. now there is talk about having to remove the blade from dozers also. the timber industry is lost out here, in my opinion. but, mismanagement of our last 2 years of fire seasons has helped me with the decision of leaving. The wife and I are getting the fuck out. let this state burn.
Crazy technology. I ran a 518 for a few years. no heater, open caged cab, and everything was controlled by levers. grapple system had 3 levers, blade had 1. steering wheel wasn't a wheel but a butterfly shaped push-pull. if I had to do it all over again, I'd take my old 518 over this thing.
One winter I pulled trucks 12 -14 hrs a day in my 525C I rode out with the loaderman every morning he drop me off at my skidder at the bad Hill and every truck that came out of there from two different loaders I pushed or pulled up that hill for 3 weeks
Very nice skidder and great views !!!

I hope the gauge panel is wrong like my 04 Chevy.
Good vid👍👍
Why tow truck it's empty... no wait on rear end for traction??
No lockers and super steep
Oh I forgot that the road is pit run as well so not much traction haha.
Why the hells an mty truck need pulled up hill in the dry?
Really steep and he doesn’t have lockers
Why did log truck need pulling?
Super steep and no lockers
Was it muddy or just too steep for low-low or truck too light on the drives? How does he deal with it when he is headed back down loaded?
Too steep / loose rock/ no lockers. A truck with double lockers and cross locks can make it but barely. It’s a nasty little hill.
