  • The guy in the skidder that is sitting in the swamp was foolish for pulling the chevy out thru there. He intentionally drove into it rather than around it and well MIRED!!

      Detroit's were made by GM back then.they changed their name From General Motors Diesel to Detroit Diesel in 1965 because International and Ford didn't like the idea of a diesel named after a competitor powering their trucks.
      Even when called Detroit Diesel,it had GM stamped on it

    • @jonrichards1754
      @jonrichards1754 Před rokem

      Neither of them know what they were doing. The first skidder should have only backed up as much as it absolutely had to in order to get the cables to a guy on the truck to connect the two. And then as someone previously said the first skidder should have then driven away with the cables dropped until they were on firm ground and then used the winch to pull the truck in. The second guy should have done the same thing as described above instead of trying to pull both while to its belly in mud itself, but most of all he should have never been using the machine to pull them oh except maybe in an absolute last resort. Even in that case he shouldn't have been trying to jerk the cables like that, just asking for one of those cables to snap and kill one of the two of them. Taking unnecessary risks of breaking equipment or injuring people.

      @@lauramurray6690 physics 101 in order to get a stationary object to move twice the force must be applied. Now add in a poor surface to move that object the force needed to get it to move increases exponentially example 5lb object needs 10lbs of force on a smooth surface with ideal traction thier force the same 5lbs on a slippery surface will need 01 lbs of force to move it but by increasing increasing the surface resistance ie. Traction coeificant less , lbs of force will be needed . In country terms anchor yourself to tree use a dang pully thier buy putting less strain on an already tired winch giving you twice the pulling power to get out of the mud work smarter not harder busting up equipment .
