Regarding the music issue brought up near the end: I definitely believe music was given us to heal and to open us to the Spirit through our emotions, but I don't believe that modern commercial worship music successfully does that very often. So about half the time when I'm at church and everyone around me is going at it, and I'm still in a cold, dark room in Ohio, I begin to wither under the belief that those around me are misidentifying a purely emotional experience as a spiritual one. And that's bad news, because if that's possible, how unlikely is it that that's what happens every time?

Rather disappointed by the mousy reaction to men beating the .... out of women in the name of God. When they say the Holy Spirit made them kick this woman or punch that woman, they are blaspheming the Holy Spirit.
