44:12 I used to fantasize about going through a life-threatening injury so that people would be concerned about me. Many severely lonely people are happy to sacrifice any semblance of dignity (or even chance at romance) for some form of extended attention

It’s not his world view. “The preaching of the gospel is to them that perish foolishness.”

If you don't mind, I'm going to take a swing at this because it's the kind of thing that gets me the most. Being the first to quote a scripture that kind of sounds like the situation at hand feels glib and lazy, to be totally honest- no disrespect intended. The teachers here are trying to articulate the nature of what clouds people's vision. It's not just demons, yo. To reduce it to "they're of the world so they'll never get it" is like only calling a skin infection "the works of the devil" and trying to pray it away when a doctor could actually give you penicillin to kill the bacteria. Did Sin and sickness come from the work of the devil? Yeah. Is prayer and supernatural healing the only course of action God's given us to undo those works? Heavens no.
Do you believe that medicine is merely the wisdom of man? If so then it's foolishness plain and simple. But if medicine is actually a gift from God teaching us wisdom and knowledge for how to live on this Earth well and take care of the life he's given us, then so too is wisdom about philosophy and culture and worldview lenses a gift God has given to those that ask for it. He explicitly says above all else "acquire wisdom; with all your possessions, acquire understanding."
You probably didn't mean to get in a fight by posting something like that but I've always wondered why people say those kinds of comments. It's like playing Bible tag. Whoever can find scripture that sounds like the situation first wins.
Truly I'm not trying to pick a fight I'm just trying to understand where responses like that come from. A lot of people don't really know what worldview is, and there are several definitions from the German origin. But basically it's a lens. If you have a naturalistic worldview then that precludes any possibility of spirituality, regardless of what you think* you want to believe - your worldview explains any and every new phenomenon you encounter.
So I'd like to submit that, like they claim here, worldview is a massive piece of this epistemological pie.

My friend, I obviously hit your hit button. I understand that. My reformed beliefs are not very popular so I’m used to that. However, if you mean no disrespect or offense it would be best not to us words like “glib and lazy”.

@@doingmanstuff2872 I apologize- I see your point. That would definitely come off as offensive without couching it in a lot more context. I'm sorry for any hurt I caused.
Would you have any thoughts re: worldview? I am mostly saying that worldview is a major paradigm shift that puts things into perspective in a way nothing else does, so I implore you not to discount our fellow humans who quite completely have a lens that precludes an ability to see any intelligence in spirituality

The study of logic allows experience as evidence. But requires other kinds of evidence as well. In Christianity we experience God or the New Birth, then that experience becomes confirmed by the Bible.

@@ambitionroad The pharisees ascribed Jesus' works to demonic powers too. And in almost every revival since, anything supernatural God did (or any unusual way people responded to Him) was either put down to demonic power, hypnotism, or "enthusiasm", and hysteria at best. I guess some things never change!
