I grew up brown/blonde hair. When my beard came through it had a ginger tint. I went bald. Some called me ginger for the first time in my life when I was 31. I felt like Eric when he woke up in this episode 😂
The guy I'm dating rn is ginger (and he had lots of freckles as a child). He finds this episode hilarious; he knows all too well the stigma behind ginger kids, but it was worse when he was younger. As an adult, it's more of a topic of conversation when people wanted to flirt with him, saying if he was Prince Harry or if "the carpet matched the drapes." Still annoying, but better than bullying. lol
It took me almost 5 months working at a theatre when I was around 21-22 yrs old before a girl asked me if I was a “Firecrotch” we were taking out the trash and I was like….wtf? She had to explain a nickname for gingers I hadn’t heard before. She was apparently very interested 😂 Unfortunately nothing ever happened with her.
The line about the guy marrying an Asian lady so as not to hinge kids was a reference to Trey. He married a Japanese lady. He says in the commentary that the joke is absolutely about him, so I’m not just speculating.
(They have since divorced, which is a bummer)

I found this episode interesting because of one comment: freckles being kisses from angels. I was actually told this when I was a kid, too. I used to have lots of freckles. They faded with time and I don't have them anymore but I found it interesting that I'm not the only one who was told this.

I'm part ginger mum had what she called"strawberry blonde hair" but it was a Maroon red like a unique red colour she dyed it brown but I got brown hair and red beard we areee Irish In our heritage so it could be from that but the brown hair is from Scotland genes I was born blonde but it turned brown with age guess you could say I'm a daywalker😂

Some of those references were just wrong and more a coincidence or common troupes, like the mirror one which happens in many horror movies. Shaun of the Dead was by far not the first movie to have a scene like that and comes off as just ignorant on who ever wrote that. It sounds like they've barely seen many movies. I would say the Witches is also a big stretch for the pride rally scene. Where ever you got those references from the creator is just making loose connections at times. Yes the Trey Parker one is true, so is the Blade one but those references were more commonly known.
