  • I’m a risky guy and I want to go next level by showing you guys a green/beginner trail! Warning no, big drops or crazy sketch.
Rustler’s Loop, part of the Kokopelli trails in Fruita Colorado. We'll be featuring Charlie and Will, 2 shredders from the front range and a few more drone snaps in this POV to make it more entertaining.
Even though Rustler’s is low tech, it makes for an excellent ride for first time mountain bikers and fitness enthusiasts alike. Despite the Beginner and low end Intermediate difficulty ratings, Rustler’s is debatable in the fact that it is in the top 5 most popular trails in the Grand Valley. It mostly consists of packed dirt, but expect everything from ribbons of sandstone, river gravel deposits, and sand.
Some more neat features include informative ride tip signs talking about everything between climbing, descending, Utah juniper, Entrada Sandstone, etc. We are only missing a sign depicting the plague of cedar gnats in the late spring. Expect, to see the place come alive in the spring with “green up”, cactus blooms, bald eagles, colored lizards, snakes, and heavy biker traffic volume. Fringe seasons like late February after the snow melts and November make for peaceful rides.
Look for about 3.75 miles in distance to complete the loop. There is a short climb at the start and a solid downhill at the end. It is relatively flat in between with one high end intermediate climb towards the end. Rustler’s can be legally ridden both ways and frequently it is, but I HIGHLY recommend riding it clockwise as it was designed to be ridden clockwise. This also maintains traffic flow going the right way and keeps the track single.
Right after snow melt, Rustler’s can be too ugly to ride. Please don’t ride muddy trails as it creates ruts and redirects stormwater into the singletrack. This will mandate repairs and potential need for reclamation, a waste of trail resources. It’s not worth it.

Thanks Grant Miller! Trying to give some exposure to trails that haven't received much air time!

Somebody pointed that out to me a couple years ago lol. I think the horse thief drop in needs a giant banner strung across the east wall for St. Mary's and a Heli spot for the chopper lol.

This sounds like a job for unprofessional kyle! He needs to prep for the Grand Enduro! lol jk Actually, its better for all of us if kyle stays rubber side down and healthy in his quest!

LOL, yeah I did plenty of walking my bike on Rockstacker in Moab a couple days prior so I owed that one to myself lol. 100% agree, gotta save that energy!
