i believe Tim Lambesis is the only original member left, so they definitely needed this change. Also getting the clean vocalist from Miss May I was a great addition.

"AILD goes road trip rock" cracked me up and is on point. Also, "people are going to be all over the place with their opinions" is spot on. I'm not sure how I feel as a long time AILD fan. To me this sounds like their old stuff which is good and nostalgic, but also not trippin' any triggers for putting in my daily listening rotation. I wouldn't skip it if it came on, but I also wouldn't choose it when searching. Always appreciate your vids and puttin' your opinion out there!
I find that the addition of more melody (this is a band that was at the forefront of American metalcore) wouldn't be as enjoyable if Tim's heavy vocals weren't so diverse. But also (imo) the hardest I've heard him go. More fry screams. More gutturals. It's doing EXACTLY what the band should have done years ago: featured the guy who damn near killed the band less and their other guys more. It's not Tim and friends. It's As I Lay Dying. There's also a bit of edge to the cleans at times (or maybe that's just the layered effect WITH Tim that creates that effect) which helps balance how long thise clean sections run for. I particularly enjoyed the lines "All I see and all I know is pain. All I see and all I know is" and how that 'is' rings out a bit, the way that note is held is quite lovely, despite the context. This is not a band for everyone. Especially those who like to be offended on others' behalf..
I rather enjoy this, the first song was more of their mid-old style where this one was like well we can do other sounds as well. I hope the new album that is to come we assume has a blend of both the first and second single.
Man, I love this band. And the song is great, despite all of the changes that they had. And man, if they gonna sound this good live, because previously only Tim sounded good live on vocals, then I'm gonna lose my mind.
Yo lo noté. Pero como que en los videoclips los actores no tienen mucha relevancia. Hiciste un gran trabajo y comenté una publicación tuya en Instagram, que me sorprendió que no te quebraste el cuello en burden. Hay tercera parte?.
Read the lyrics... holy fuck... song can hit you in the feels if you let it and the music really captures what they are saying. If you had Kelly Clarkson or Taylor Swift sing these lyrics to piano it would be a #1 on the billboard. Tim Lambesis is AILD and god damn is he good at what he does. Craziest of people tend to write the best shit. LOL
Infinitely better than the last single. Really wish they’d change it up a little bit though. So far both of these singles sound and feel like they were just B sides that didn’t make the cut of the last album. (Yes obviously they aren’t - I just mean they feel so similar and the formula is tired. They are just super predictable tracks.)
I feel this mainly with how every song is introduced with Tim growling lyrics into this "big" release of energy. They need another way to introduce songs lol.
I don’t really hear any difference between this and the old shit. Love both new and old stuff from this band regardless but imo this is pretty much how they’ve always sounded since Shadows Are Security but with maybe a little more cleans now.
Like him or not, Tim always delivers on every track. Getting the vocalist/guitarist from Miss May I was such a great addition for the band. 🤘 I feel like the cleans were too prominent on this track for my liking but I still enjoyed it a lot.
@@patrickl671 Tim has always been the push in my opinion. He felt like a straggler here though. I feel like his parts just didn't have a lot of emotion and fierceness
While sonically the first single is closer to what the band USED to sound like, it felt like Tim wrote new lines over an older song. And a b-side at that. It felt closer to Tim and friends covering some unused AILD song. This one feels more honest to the new lineup. And if all you want is heavier AILD, there's recordings of that out there. But expecting a band that help define American metalcore to play their greatest hits, twenty years later and with a new lineup feels more than a bit selfish 🤷 Oh, and kinda narrow minded too, ngl
@@nolankuffner3573 Holy shit. The song isn't that interesting. No need to turn it into some diatribe about selfishness and shallowness. The fact that you managed to stretch it that far isn't just incredible, but definitely a sign that you're a bad person and shouldn't be allowed to be around schools. See how weird that was? Fuckin weird.
This new line up is so awesome, still miss the old members, but this is awesome
Tim is the only one untouchable
This song at 100 volume in the car is dangerous 🔥
100%!
Its a banger for sure....
The chorus is so magical. It’s HUGE
Such a banger, they are still the kings of metalcore imo
Now and always! 🤘

Probably my new favorite AILD song
Love to see that you find your way to As i lay Dying! I've seen them at 2 concerts here in Germany!🤘🏼🤓
I love your reactions, Bro. You remind me of a guy I used to work with, back in the 90's, while living in Toledo.

If As I lay dying in your workout playlist... You need help. These dudes get me pumped.
It's still As I Lay Dying but with a breathe of fresh air. The best of Metalcore 🤘🏼
I liked the last song a little better but this is a banger too. Kings of metalcore, bringing back that early 2000s sound.

The riff kinda sounds like it was written during the “awakened” album.
So good!
Ngl i kinda hope Levi does guest vocals on one of the new songs off this album
He appeared on stage one time when they did The Sound of Truth! (In Ohio I think)
