    ✅ You will be surprised with these 8 Weird Habits Of An INTJ Personality Type!
    If the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessed you as an INTJ (Architect/Mastermind) Personality Type, chances are you have some weird and peculiar habits. Being labeled weird or awkward might have negative connotations, but for certain people, it can be appealing and separates them from the usual. INTJs can certainly be labeled as odd or peculiar, but this is largely due to people's inability to look beyond the surface.
    Architects take a different approach to things, which can be perplexing to some others and cause them to misunderstand where the INTJ is coming from. Architects are quite unique, and some of their traits and behaviours can be very bizarre. Find out if you have any of these weird habits and remember if you do, think of it this way. You are not some weirdo because of this, you just possess some distinctive features which are typical for your personality type that don't necessarily fit into particular social conventions and they are often characterized as weird. Furthermore, most of them can help in reaching personal growth and self-improvement so it is very beneficial to know them. Here are 8 Weird Habits Of An INTJ Personality Type.

    INTJs do NOT despise being proven to be wrong. In fact, it's the opposite. They don't mind at all if you can show evidence and logic in your argument. What INTJs DO despise is being called incorrect without having any evidence backing up such as assertation. Or worse, saying, "Well, I just FEEL that you're wrong." That is something that INTJs really do despise.

      Yes but we are also described as careful thinkers we have put lots of effort into our conclusions and we are right an overwhelming amount of the time once we have come to a conclusion so we can be resistant to listen to a poorly organized counter to our argument. Once we hear and understand it then yes we flip like a switch because it is about right ideas not who had them. But we also tend to discount ideas that come from frequent bad idea givers. Hence the negative perception. And honestly we aren't necessarily being fair to slowly warm up to listening on those cases. Probably not all of us. And some always get a fair shake as they have quality ideas.
      This prioritizationikely stems from our high value of time and efficiency.

      I was thinking about commenting to a similar effect. INTJ's don't necessarily mind being proven wrong, but often if you think you've shown them the facts, the "two sides of the same coin" type response, or just denying it means that you haven't convinced them or proven anything. This tends to happen because INTJ's have a large complex of thought and "facts" that are consistent with their conclusion. Most of the time when anyone is arguing, the actual point of disagreement has not been discussed or even found. If an INTJ is wrong, than you have to find the actual point of disconnect, or challenge his/her presuppositions relevant to the argument.

    One correction. The INTJ type will change their position as long as the facts support the new position. Now this is easier if the correction is presented as new information to make an informed decision rather than the I told you so emotional response. It has taken me a long time to learn how little I truly understand.

  • @sherrylee-im9if
    @sherrylee-im9if Před 9 měsíci +28

    I feel most videos describe INTJ as an anti-social intelligent grumpy weird loner, but I disagree with that. I think a matured INTJ can be very unique, original, fun, and charming too.
    I’m an INTJ myself and have almost all those qualities described in this video when I was a teenager. After I grow up, I remain an introvert, an intuitive thinker who always analyze things rationally and trained to be an architect in college. But I also learned how to be with people and I am not cold nor judge-mental at all. I enjoy my alone time and have no problem to go to a movie or go to restaurants by myself, but I also don’t have problem to chit chat with someone next to me in a new restaurant, especially with some interesting topic and conversation. Yes, I enjoy my alone time very much and often think differently from others, and I love being different and unique and never try to change myself to fit in any environment. But at the same time, I am also social, friendly and barely criticize people around me, although I still feel tried after parties. I may not need others much like other personality types, but I am certainly not an intimidating lonely weirdo either. When I hit it off with someone, I can also talk for hours and feel exhausted after.

      I can heavily relate. I was that angsty teenager and had a REALLY difficult time because I didn't understand myself. Things got much better after 25. Its easier for me to socialize and I can be a lot of fun when I want to.

  • @MelFlagg
    @MelFlagg Před 2 lety +209

    I feel like this is more for immature or younger INTJs. We are intuitive (hence the N), we know things, and a lot of times we don't know how we knew it. We can very easily intuit someone's feelings because of out ability to observe even the tiniest details, like microexpressions and body language. And INTJs are actually not judgemental. While we can form opinions of others, more enlightened INTJs try very hard to not judge others because we feel like we have no right to judge anyone. We are very much live and let live. And we do try to see the various perspectives in every situation, but a real INTJ will actually admit when they are wrong because the need to learn something new is greater than their need to be right. This is why I say this seems to be more for a younger or less mature INTJ. In fact the only thing in this video that really applies to an INTJ is the need for extreme amounts of alone time and being easily annoyed. Also for those who wonder which personality type makes a suitable partner for an INTJ, it's an INFJ. They have the ability to help us understand the aspects of humanity we just don't get, and they can more easily understand us.

    • @MelFlagg
      @MelFlagg Před 2 lety +41

      @@PsychologyRefresh I think there's 2 biggest weaknesses. I'm loyal to a fault. And when someone doesn't meet my standards I get very hurt because of how loyal I am. The second is thinking everyone thinks like I do. While I realize people have different perspectives, my default is to assume people think and know what I do. That gets me into trouble. A very close third would be inability to make a decision without having all the facts. I constantly need more information in order to properly make a decision. But the world doesn't work that way, so I make a decision based on the info I have and then end up wondering if it was the right one. And I wonder that for the rest of my life. Not like most people who can let it go.

I feel uncomfortable when people cry because it makes me sad for them but I get annoyed by my own emotions and I’d rather not. We dont like treating people badly because we ourselves wouldn’t like to be treated like this. I think we have a strong moral compass that overrides any need to be cruel to others, we’re honest if asked but we gauge how honest and how to address a situation depending on the person and what they can handle but never lie. True, we formulate our opinions intuitively, but our intuition runs on the evidence provided. I’ll argue until I’m blue in the face when I think I’m right. But if reliable evidence arises contrary to my preconceived understanding, I’ll accept it readily.

    One of the things i disagree with most in these personality descriptions is the inference that INTJs over emphasize logic and suggest that INTJs rely on that exclusively. The fact (pun intended) is that while very few people can out logic an INTJ it is INTUITION that is our dominant function...and it us the COMBINATION that makes us so formidable. Very few people are capable of both of both types of reasoning. So we are both highly creative and insightful, but also quite willing to change our minds and "reassemble" our positions when new facts come to light. However we will not do so if presented with an imbalanced argument that takes only one type of reasoning into account. We believe we are correct and our judgement is optimal given a set of facts because experience has shown us (and frankly everyone else) that this is the case. People argue with us because they resent our track record of being correct...not because they have done the work we have or are confident they are right.This video seems to miss this fundamental point.

    A lot of these habits described feel like their of a less mature INTJ. For example leaving a social situation just for some alone time can come across as somewhat selfish which not all INTJs desire to appear as, that being said we are more prone to leaving a conversation because we're judging the topic of discussion. Also easy annoyance can defintely be a factor of maturity, while we're definitely more judgement, we can still control the level of effect that judgement has on our emotional state

    No, others think I'm "being critical" when I'm actually being observant (as an introvert, my J is secondary to my P, but I may face the world with J without really meaning any Judgement against a person). Another INTJ would understand that, so that's what I want in a mate, an INTJ like me. I communicate feelings and everything else just fine with another INTJ. We're subtle, but totally readable (see Emma Thompson's acting in the first half of Sense and Sensibility). Two I's can split the extrovert tasks, communicate iNtuitively, often without words, understand logic and not be offended if logic or data flaws are pointed out, able to give each other space, and go face the world with J only when necessary as a team.

  • @MissLibertarian
    @MissLibertarian Před 7 měsíci

    OK, I think you underestimate how many people who think they are offering new facts or rationale absolutely refuse to discuss it with an INTJ who is just begging you to come up with new data or rationale. We are married to the logic which is an ongoing process that never ends. Truth is very elusive, and if we think we found it, we want you to convince us if there is something we're missing. Any frustration we express is because so many other types think we should submit to dominance, and fake agreement. That is no way to find Truth--and we know better than most that "Truth" is a concept like "Reality." BTW, my INTJ father (electrical engineer, pilot, inventor) taught me that listening on both sides really helps. Listening and conveying that one has heard what they said. But both sides need to participate.

I'm pretty sure we are necessary to the survival of humans, and that we are rare in our aptitudes and skills and attitudes is the main reason why. The crow's nest is small, and if too many are in it, it is easy to rock the boat too much. It is the INTJ's job to be up there pointing out the things we see over the horizon from those on the deck and below. If the sail-menders, cooks, swabbers, accountants, rowers, and all the other necessary people could see what we see sooner, we can avoid many shoals. I'm not weird for saying, "End the Fed," or "Greed is the cure for price gouging."

    If someone disagrees with me they better have proof to back up what they are saying. And yes we will fight for life, my dad is an INTJ like me but becouse he is an old fart anything that is new and that wasn't around when he was going up is in his own words "fake woke crap that you kids are comeing up with," so yeah dealing with him is a pain in the ass.
