  • If I learned anything about Xenoblade Chronicles 3 over the course of these past 77 episodes, it’s that if they can make it sad, they will make it sad. And there’s no exception in today’s episode. This episode starts the post-game content, since the last episode saw me beating the game!
The first thing we do is go to the Fornis region to talk to Miibomii. I tried to talk to him earlier, when he first got released, but he said I would have to wait and come back after I had more experiences. What he meant was that I had to wait until the end of the game, which I did, and now I’m back to see what this little man is all about.
Turns out Miibomii is the way to get amiibo exclusive content without having to buy the amiibos, which I think is pretty cool. Fortunately for me, the two hardest rewards were for the amiibos of Noah and Mio and I got those for my birthday; I’ll have to grind for an insanely long time before I can earn those prizes through Miibomii. But the other two rewards were actually obtainable for me, but of course they were a callback to the previous games so I didn’t get it.
Moving on from Miibomii, we head to Agnus Castle to see how Ghondor is doing. She’s fine, but the Agnians living at the castle are nervous because some of them have been called to the city to have a meeting with the higher-ups. They were worried this might be retaliation for the death of Dana and her crew on the supply run from the castle to the City.
This is the first time these Agnians will be in the City, so of course, Ghondor had to instill as much fear as possible into them before they got there. Of course, we all know that the City leaders wouldn’t kill the Agnians just for being involved in the same mission as Dana and the others, but they didn’t know that. Fortunately, their torture was short lived, and peace is made. This leaves the Agnians to explore the City at their leisure, and perhaps even run into some new, and tiny, friends.
Finally, we stay in the City to hang out with Triton and his friend for a while. Triton made this friend recently and now they’re good drinking buddies. This friend tells Triton that his miso reminded him of the miso his father used to make and pair with the most delicious fruit he ever ate. Triton feels inspired to go out and find that delicious, legendary fruit.
Fortunately, we happened to find one of those exact types of fruit trees earlier in our journey, so it wasn’t too hard to track down the fruit. But this leads to one of the most jarring and upsetting endings in the entire game. It really did come out of left field.
So if you like sudden tonal shifts, lying to cause fear and discomfort, and/or trading stories for treasure, then this episode of my Xenoblade Chronicles 3 playthrough episode is for you!

Forgiving and Fruitgiving in this episode of Xenoblade 3
I mean if you think about it, Being in denial and continuing to play the game after it's ending is kinda what Z wants...
    Hmmm....
Yeah, Not much point with Miibomii if you have the amiibo for them already
Yeah, I have no context for Future Redeemed either. And with how busy I am right now, I might not be able to get the context any time soon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fruitgiving lol that's such a funny word for such a sad event
Yeah... I did kind of do exactly what Z said I should and just keep going in the endless now, but if you ignore it hard enough, it's like the game didn't have a lesson at all! It was just a bunch of stuff that happened
I'm glad that the two items I could get from Miibomii were items I didn't already have
Well maybe some future playthroughs will provide some more context 👀

To all those who couldn't get those Amiibo:
    Unreasonable Nintendo strikes again.
Some rewards in Nintendo games just have extremely unreasonable conditions to unlock them.
In recent games even more often than usual.

This is so true, there's no way I would be able to get the Consul M and N armor if I didn't get the amiibos for my birthday
The conditions for them are absolutely wild, and by that point, you'll have already played the game so much you wouldn't have enough to do in order to enjoy the rewards

I think Coralie might have stolen Segiri's stealth tech...

I don't watch your Xenoblade content. but i just pressed it and I have to say. What happens in this? I know about 1 and 2 but what in the world happens in 3.

I love this question because the answer is wild. Basically the world from the first game and the world from the second game were once one and had separated into the parallel worlds, but they were set to merge back together which would have caused them to cancel each other out and end all life. The people of both worlds were able to contact each other and build an information ark (the Origin) that would store all of the information for both worlds as well as the souls of their inhabitants so that they could return once the worlds remerged. BUT humanity's fear of the future and desire to stay in the "endless now" manifested into a being called Z who stopped time and created Aionios, the game's world. In order to maintain control over the inhabitants of Aionios, Z has a crew of beings called Moebius who force the inhabitants of the two worlds to engage in a war with each other. Not only does this keep them distracted, but it also allows the Moebius to harvest their life energy into a "flame clock," which fuels them.
The game is basically about unstopping time again so Origin can do what it was meant to do, which in turn would result in Aionios tearing itself apart back into the worlds of the first two games again. We do this by playing as a party that is half Agnian (XC2) and half Kevesi (XC1) and transforming into being called Ouroboros, a physical match for the powerful Moebius. An Ouroboros is made up of one Kevesi and one Agnian, who merge together into this larger being.
I only barely summarized it, so I'm sure there's a lot I missed, but that's the basic gist of what happens.
