They are. I believe the designers wanted it to look like a watch.

My car is lugging hard at low RPMs. Almost got stuck at an intersection because it didn’t want to accelerate till it reached higher RPMs.

Is it an is300? Does it run fine at idle? Tell me all the details

@@danimal865 2005 IS300. 145k miles. Idle is fine. While the engine temp is low, accel. from a stop is very unresponsive. And I mean pedal to the floor and it barely wants to go 7mph. After driving for a few minutes, it accelerates better but, when engine temp is at normal, I floor it and it stutters at odd points in the accel process. I don’t get a smooth acceleration. Feels like it’s lacking power the whole power band too.
Just had a new vvti solenoid installed as well as a new vvti connector and new spark plugs as of early June.

@the_rush_to_nothing do you have a check engine light? Any known codes? One thing i always start with when im having idle/power/hesitation issue's is clean the throttle body really well. Make sure all the oil and grease is off the throttle blade and spray some carb cleaner in the ports and use a tooth brush. Its free to do. Also you need to run your hand down your vacuum lines cause those will cause most of the issues you're having.

@the_rush_to_nothing i was gonna suggest changing the tps and iacv but you did that already. You can also spray a little starter fluid (little spirts here and there) around the vacuum lines to see if the idle raises up while its running.

@@the_rush_to_nothing then my next suggestion would be clogged cats or O2 sensor problems

@@danimal865fastest slowest car I’ve ever had, feels amazing like a go kart. Super responsive, and every single drive I do a few pulls for the past 3 years and I have 230k miles, no tranny slips, nothing bad. Any other car if I do WOT I swear it already damages it, whether that is a Ford Edge, jeep Cherokee, Pontiac V6, GMC Denali etc..🤣 no car I have ever felt comfortable doing such things, only in this Lexus. Absolutely amazing.

@sym6oI yeah they were definitely ahead of their time. Very light weight and handle corners great. I had it for about 6 months then i sold it for 3k more than i paid for it. Definitely fun for the short time i had it

@@danimal865 I grabbed mine for $1000 flat, was outback as a repo at my old job. Some crackheads owned it (literally found a bag of herion under my seat when first inspecting) and had a front end collision. I knew nothing about them or the 2JZ just caught my eyes because that was the first car option you could get on the old NFS: Most Wanted game. Once I found out more about it and actually got it running it’s been nice

@sym6oI dang you got a lucky find kinda like i did. I bought mine from a guy that thought the engine was on its last leg. He replaced a lot of parts trying to get it to run right, it was the clock spring in the sensor on the throttle body that was clocked wrong. Simple fix. It had an exhaust leak which you can hear in the video but it was clean other than that.
