Thanks for checking out our videos. The phrase "Run Steep Get High" was coined on a training run in Silveron, Colorado one of my favorite places in the world to run. We hope to inspire you to reach for that higher peak and goal in life by living "The Steep Life"!

Having competed in over 15 Mount Marathons (with several Top 5 finishes), and done races around the world, this is an amazing race with great atmosphere that challenges you in every aspect.
I can't fathom trying to run that descent carrying pricey gear in BOTH hands.😄
Yay! Alaska represent!! You should definitely get back for more of our other races. I know Billy Yang did the Crow Pass some years ago. I love getting to see my home represented in the very, very best way.
Thanks for the perspective. Love the giggling on the way down🤣
Love that you got this vid together! It's a great pump up (not that I even need any more) for when I go out there this July for my first time! Finally got selected. Looking forward to this [is a gross understatement]
I'm so glad you got to experience the Awesomeness of Mt Marathon at Seward Ak. Hope you are hooked for life. It's a great event.
glad you finally posted this! the course looks insane, with great views at the top. definitely on the bucket list
Mmm,
Probably the most memorable climb I've ever done. Really nice footage of the mountain!
Awesome video! Thanks for bringing back some amazing memories of my time in Alaska!! 👍
My Home IS Alaska! THank you for promoting our local tourism economy and excellent work!
Dude this looks amazing. That scree slope looked fun and hell and the views. Wow. Also this looks like a great race to just show up and spectate so it's popularity doesn't surprise me. Amazing outdoor scenery, very interesting race, chance to watch people tumble down parts at the end, looks like a great day out. Great video Jamil! I saw the race footage once after I started watching Allie Ostrander channel and the google algorythm put 1 and 1 together but your footage really showed how steep and dicey it is.
You know it’s a tough course when the quads are blown after previewing it the day before the race
Very cool video! Love the adventure!
Great sound you used on the descent. Well suited!
That scree run looks like so much fun! Great video! 👏
Finally got up to Seward! That 5k course is stuff of legends.
Thanks for the post. Brought back memories. Did it back in 1980 ( 66th annual ).
Awesome footage Jamil!
That was unreal!! And so much fun to watch.
Did this race the first time in 1980! Yeah, a long time ago. Signed up the day of the race,, unheard of now!. The most iconic race for Alaska by far., even back then the crowds were so supportive. The BEST of Alaska on the 4th of July!!
This is amazing. I want to hike / run this. Thanks for the video.
Amazing trail!
My home state! I LOVE Mt. Marathon and have survived the race three times. What a glorious, muddy, bloody bout of exhilaration. Glad you got a chance to experience the real Alaska. It's pretty damned special, right? P.S. But carrying that large camera--yikes, you've got guts.
Wow, wish I was there. Good luck to all of the runners.
I think it's 'Choose Your Own Adventure' - instant memories of hours of childhood reading came flooding back at that moment!
Awesome video. If you’re interested in Other Alaska races with some crazy good views I would check out Bird Ridge, Crow Pass, Kesugi, and Alyeska cirque series. Not Mount marathon but they’re all challenging and unique. The Alaska Mountain Runners Calendar online has some good info on those and a lot more.
that looked too much fun!
great video. I feel like I actually know the course a bit, most other videos are just documenting epic falls.
The Chute looks so fun!
Man that's crazy!
The images on the trailhead signage about how to keep yourself from falling 😂 Iconic
This is awesome - Big inspiration to my youtube channel Thanks !
At 14:45, jam jam running full out down the tallis slope with his dslr and huge lens in hand. Thats trusting your skills.
it's scree. talus rock is much bigger than this
Jeeez, that area is beautiful!
My knees hurt just watching the decent!😄
Seriously going back to Seward just for this downhill 😂 Sickness!
Music selection is dialed 👌
Jam Jams camera worked hard that day!
I need to go to this race. 🔥🔥
looks so fun
I climbed /did Mt. Marathon race course in July 1997! Day before the race that year. Before CZcams, video cameras highlighting our every run;). Can’t believe it’s been 25 years! Good times. #AlaskanBorn
That shit cray
the descent is kinda insane!
It’s about 7k but if y’all fancy something Scottish in a similar vein, check the Glamaig Hill Race on the Isle of Skye. It’s crazy and then some. There are a few vids on here but none do it justice 🏴👍
Can't be that hard. It's downhill half the race!!
Hahaha
100%!
I
“Technically we’re first” haha yeap I did the same thing with Tokyo marathon this year. Previewed the course the night before so technically I got to the finish line before anybody else. 🤣💪
I have so much anxiety for his camera watching this lol
My quads hurt just watching that
SUBBED ! nice to see, this 5k looks mega, found out the other day Ryan atkins spends 10+ hours running per week when starting to racing in mountian ranges such as this, absolutely insane.
My dream race
i was confused until I saw a comment below, wait, is this Alaska in March? obviously not. scary course but beautiful. thanks for sharing.
July 6, 2021
i would be all on my nerves running with that SLR and the L lense. 🙌🏼
😅
Hi Jamil, a question, do you still use the GoPro Hero 8 , and what editing program are you using?
This was Hero 9 and I now use Hero 10. Premiere pro for editing
Oh boy, I put in for the lottery for the first time this year. Would love to do the race!
Welcome to the lottery madness! Hopefully you fare better than I did
You guys are laughing and smiling throughout. I’d have a look of FRIGHT on the way down.
You DID say you like to run steep and get high…just sayin’.
Another great perspective on the race: czcams.com/video/Gu11ILt2_Ks/video.html
I have been making it a point to watch the race every year. Better than watching people eating a bunch of hotdogs!!
thanks!
Thanks for that, how incredible!
Cool

Did that guy say he was 81????
Allie O
Run steep, get tired.
is this from 2021?
Yes
Too steep for a lion. Needs real heavy shoes.
