      Made me think of him too! For those not in the know he did a wonderful bit where he'd start playing Clair de Lune off key then after a few moments of confusion get up, shove the piano over, then play it perfectly. Most of his bits have made their way onto CZcams. Vinheteiro follows in his very large footsteps.

    I'm going to be that person and point out that "The Entertainer" was published in 1902, when electricity and photography were certainly things.

    Imagine how good this guy would be if he actually looked at the keys

    • @BlckAlchmst
      @BlckAlchmst Před 2 lety +19

      Classical pianist are trained to NOT look at the keys. You learn the muscle memory and let your hands focus on the notes freeing your mind for musicality and interpretation. Looking at the keys occupies too much mental energy and actually results in more errors

      Read Sheets?

    • @ButtonsKing
      @ButtonsKing Před 2 lety +6

      @@BlckAlchmst All classical musicians are trained this way. When playing from the sheet, they must look at it (sligtly in advance to the tones they are just playing). When playing in an orchestra, they watch the conductor. When playing from memory, they look at the listeners or simply switch the vision off.
