Ang Lee accepted the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Excellence in Directing with an acceptance speech that was at once profound, hilarious and heartfelt. Jake Gyllenhaal presented Ang with the award at the 2016 AMD British Academy Britannia Awards presented by Jaguar Land Rover and American Airlines at the Beverly Hilton on October 28th 2016. Ang Lee is so talented. He is often fond of praising the amazing talents of his actors and crew and downplaying his own, which of course shows how truly genuine his modesty really is. I had no idea he was so funny. His warmth cannot help but show through and it seems like ll the people who have worked with him love him ie. Emma Thompson, Jake G, Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeo etc.
