@@plasthicc5407 😉
does anyone know how much u put in ur timesheet
Hero🏆
Thanks for that.
Best open toonz tutorial ive seen so far it wasnt as overbearing and complicated like most of the others
Just what I want to say! That's so true!
seriously i was about to give up with opentoonz before i found this
and the product is used in an actual anime!
Nah, it's a great video but you don't have to disrespect the others. Darren T and NobleFrugal are great too.
the other ones arent overbearing ur just bad at paying attention
I'm not an artist (not even as a hobby) but my curiosity directed me into trying to animate something. Found this tutorial and within 10 hours I could do a very simple animation! Thank you for sharing this workflow that's so simple to reproduce! I'll certainly see animated shows in a different light now!
You made OpenToonz easier to understand for me than toonboom haha
Thanks for sharing this. This was a great insight into your workflow.
Fancy meeting you here, I'm in your stream right now! 👋
@@praticle Well who'd have thought . It's a small world :-)
i love your videos
@@LinklesKoroktasicWorld Thank you :-)
i remember trying opentoonz awhile back, but i never got into it because of how complicated it was, and there weren't any useful tutorial videos. your video is super simple and on to the point, it got me trying it again, and it's honestly pretty fun!
Ik!? I was so confused on how to use it back then but after watching his vids I feel like the CEO of Mappa animation
It's always nice to watch professional animator sharing their knowledge... I animate using Clip Studio, but I can see the potencial of OT or Tahoma... Thank you for the tutorial.
Agreed. I use Blender myself but it helps me learn trying to translate the techniques used over the softwares.
Leonardo which program is better for animating clip studio or the one of this video??
@@martin4u2 in my opinion clip studio, but because I'm quite experienced on it, but for sure if you are expert in open toons your opinion well be different to mine... But for people that start animation, clip studio Is Easier to learn.
@@manleonardo thanks for your honest reply :)
@@manleonardodo you use the ex or pro version?
i cant imagine how long anime takes to make
yess imagine now AoT's animation thats ridiculous
@@Aprianex not that long.. -,- they have team, bruh. not just one person.
for rough image, 10seconds animation maybe need 1 hour.
my simple n rough animation in my channel there, took me like more than 1 hour. only like.. 5 frames/pictures there. i forgot how much time it took. back then i was newbie at animation. 2013 maybe. or 2015. idk.
i disable comment and some stuffs about that video because some ppl dislike n even commenting bad comments to that animation. the heck... it's like mocking a baby because that baby can't talk n walk.
dont mock newbies, ppl.. -,-
ahh. lets continue..
plus, in the big Japanese animation studio, they usually like.. they share the work to other animation studio. they even do some outsourcing too. like.. freelancer animator n illustrator too.
WIT Studio is not alone back then. IG Production, JC Staff, etc helps them too. And it's not just about the animation.. it's also about the music n sound.
And now it's also not just MAPPA Studio that animating SnK season 4. go look at their credits both in the opening n ending.
Kind of explains why half of the episode is usually a flashback of some kind :P. But yeah no I can imagine it takes forever if you don't have a team.
@@DBT1007 multiple teams work on different scenes at the same time, but to get through the scenes you have to rely on the keyframers, cleanup correction, colorists, and the outsourced inbetweeners. it takes a lot more time for each individual clip.
@@scalfiire it must be funny and awkward for hentai production they probably all pervs
DUDE I freaking loved deca-dence, one of my favourite shows of all time! Was not expecting to find a tutorial from a deca-dence animator, thats dope. You did a fantastic job, I love her character design and expressive animations so much!
agree with the first statement. its legit why I clicked on the video
I just want to animate old timey 1930s style cartoons.
finally, someone who's taught me how to use timesheets ;_;
traditional animation is dying out rapidly and u are doing god's work by sharing and reviving it!
Its not dying because anime industry is huge and it relies on frame by frame animation technique with cgi.
Traditional isn't dying out, there's clearly monstrous demand for it. The problem is profitability and time, and the fact there just aren't enough skills animators who can animate characters in one or two passes.
traditional animation keeps strong because japanese animation.
they even bring the traditional animation and mix it with digital.
and now vtuber culture booming.
digital animation is all about the west. for now..
Its not dying out traditional animation is just a method to express art. Its like saying ppl don’t use claymation anymore. Also, not sure what u meant by traditional cuz that would be done on paper. I think the accurate comparison is raster vs vector animation and raster animation is actually very popular. If u ever seen vector animation it sorta gives u like paper cutout style animation. But either or, depends on the persons tastes their both good raster is better imo
You are a very very heavily misinformed gullible fool with no base knowledge.
Traditional/2d Animation is very far from "Dying out" is is still being utilized everywhere as well as other animated methods that its existing alongside with it.
How about doing your research before coming off as an misinformed fool.
wow thanks man. Always wanted to learn animation but this is so easy and simple to follow. I tried listening to other opentoonz tutorial but they were all long winded and over complicated. You got down to the point and even showed some industry standard stuff to learn from .
YOU are amazing. This kind of guide on how to use the software / how you plan your animation is exactly what I've needed. I've always been intimidated by planning sheets and multiple colors in the sketch, but you make it look so easy I want to jump right in! You're the only tutorial I've found on CZcams that is willing to show everything (not just jump-cut to: *finished product!!!*). I seriously mean it when I say that this helps tremendously. Thank you for your work and I wish you the best in the future. Subbed.
This is a really great tutorial! I find myself learning the most from tutorials where I can see the workflow of professionals, and this provides exactly that.
Excellent guide! It is so insightful to see an industry-level animation unfold from opening a new project to exporting it.
What an incredible tutorial. So comprehensive to follow, and so much information about the professional animation pipeline.
This is a really good tutorial for both the animation process and Opentoonz. This helps a TON! PLEASE MAKE MORE!!!
I was looking for cooper and found gold, Wanted a OpenToonz tutorial and found an complete animation tutorial, best art tutorial ever
One of the most beautifull tutorial about Opentoonz... It's not only beautifull : it's well explained and advanced. I love this kind of tut when you understand that the professionnals are at a level so much higher than you, that your own tutorials seems to be so childish. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Dong... Please, please, do more like this one with Opentoonz for us...

This was awesome I was just entranced on the edge of my seat. Even simple things like the paintbrush and auto paint lines are absolutely mind-blowing. Also, seeing the workflow, process, and pretty drawings was super interesting, thank you for posting this! :))
Thank you, I've tried open toonz in the past but it was hard to understand how to use it at the time. This tutorial may convince me to give it another try!

How to create anime in three simple steps:
1. Launch OpenToonz from taskbar
2. Create new layer
3. Add some details
Love the tutorial and this anime also. The ending is really good,
too bad it's an underrated anime.
Great tutorial! Thanks!
Still helping after 2 years
have. But, your tutorial was amazing and I have made a semi-decent soft. Thanks!
I can't stop thinking about the thumbnail and the way she smiles just reminds me of Peter Griffin. Just give her the Ball Chin.
Thanks a lot! im not even professional but I learned a lot from this
Omg you're awesome, pls make some more tutorials about anime animation in opentoonz
This video just reminded me why I'm too lazy to do animation.
This is impressive work, thanks for the video, it's unfortunate whenever I try doing animation I realize the work load and time needed to do so and I just quit😅
I loved Deca Dense! Shows like that are inspiring me to work hard & somehow get into the industry, thanks for the video.
YOU WERE A DECA DENCE ANIMATOR. LOVED IT THANKS MY GUY
Thanks Dong Chang
Astonishing tutorial, I was wonder whether or not my dumb animatics would be suitable for this program but I was proven wrong
This is so helpful !!!! thanks a lot 🙏🙏🙏🙏
THIS IS SO COOL!!!
The drawing is done with the i-pen or mouse?
So much information
U inspired me to start my own anime
I steal this knowledge thank you
Thank you!
Wow very helpful tysm
Thanks, GOD bless you.
Great Tutorial. Did get stuck a bit on the output setting (they moved them under FIle), but I was able to follow it all the way through.
nicely done
thank you so much this was so helpful!!! :)))
the music is cool that is used in this video
Thank you for the awesome video! I have a question: is it common to add inbetweens after some frames have been cleaned up? I would've imagined you want the whole scene fully animated in rough first, before any clean up
Most of this can be applied to krita and it's still super informative and simple to understand thank you
Well i like to do the drawing part on krita then i put all those drawing in opentoons its way better to do it this way as krita lacks some features
@@instagramstar5928 I would use opentoonz if it wasn't messed up on my computer. I just have to stick with krita for anything animation related :/
i love you dude thanks alot
I love it
thank you thank you , i need improved my skills but nothing impossible
Thank you soo much!
