- I'm going to try something new and different on this channel. With so many commercials I've accumulated over the years, I have enough to make long compilation videos out of them. I'm testing the waters here to how the viewership comes out. The first of these videos is a complication of all the 1990s Wendy's commercials that have been uploaded on this channel over years. If there's anymore of these you would like to see, that will depend if I have enough of them to warrant a compilation video.

I love how he talks about the price of food and refusing to skimp on quality.
Wendy's has never been the same since the death of Dave Thomas.
agreed it was a very good marketing campaign plus that voice over guy they had was iconic
He always seemed like a cool guy, and brought great content to his commercials.
Well the prices have changed
The fact that Dave the actual founder was in every advertisement, says a lot! Never seen anything else like it.
And the food was waaaay better. Wendys fries and their hamburgers couldnt be touched back then now they suck
The great thing about Dave is that he wasn't a professional actor. He was a bit stiff in his line reading, but he made that part of his persona and it was charming.
Other fast food burger places went out of their way to appeal to children, but even as a kid Dave’s ads are what made me a fan of Wendy’s.
I always enjoy seeing Dave Thomas in his own commercials. Between making them down to earth to making them funny, he never fails to make them enjoyable.
Good ol Dave Thomas I remember seeing him on commercials when I was a kid. Always seemed like a down to earth and cool guy. RIP Mr. Thomas
He always brought great content to his commercials.
@@midmichiganguy6536 it wasn’t called content back then.
Take me back please 😢 i miss these days
1:28 $2.99 for a combo?? Today that will just get you a small fries ($2.49). Darn inflation.
The government is destroying our money. End the FED
Sad, right? I remember in the 80’s as a kid when a hamburger at McDonald’s was 59 cents and a cheeseburger was 69 cents. Craziness!
Super-sized meals are around $12, $13 now.
My mom went to school with Dave Thomas’s daughter Wendy!!
These commercials with Dave were and still are so wholesome. God bless that man. Thank you for this compilation, Ethan! 🤗
they should bring the yellow containers back so i can remember my childhood jaja love wendys they got so much variety love the asiago spicy chicken sandwich
I always wondered why the changed the color to red 🤔
Yeah. I miss the yellow containers. :(
The best fast food restaurant to this day wishing each and every day Dave Thomas was still with us..... The baconators were real and tasty.........
Companies can no longer market in this manner because the corporatists have discarded any connection to the layman consumer.
Dave at that time had already organized his company into a corporate structure and stayed on as a front man due to his connection to the consumer base. He learned many marketing lessons from Colonel Sanders in this regard (Dave used to work for Kentucky Fried Chicken).
However, a man usually cannot outlive his globally marketed corporation and when he died, Wendy's became just another fast food pit without any discernable differences from its competitors in the marketplace.
That was impressive
Back when Wendys use to be affordable.
And edible
I miss Dave Thomas, AND how he was spokesman for his own restaurant by appearing in the commercials! I love that last one with Susan Lucci! 😊❤
Man I wish I could go back in time
I miss Dave Thomas RIP
R.I.P. Dave Thomas
Love this new format
Lol love the ice melting at the hockey game!
Accountability and integrity. It was his face in the commercials.
“Lobster cappuccino” 😂 2:18
I remember eating at the very first store built in Columbus. Last there in 1997. It's been closed down over 15 years ago.
It’s funny how one of his children’s first name is “Wendy Thomas”
1:29 LOL. I work at Wendy's a single combo is now $10.80.
I miss their 90s fries
U could feed a family with 10 bucks in 1987
I remember a lot of these
I worked at a Sunbury location 6 years ago.
I finally saw the famous #1 Wendy's in Columbus Ohio.but when he died they didn't waste time to reduce the size of the jr bacon.
2.99 combo?
If only
WHERE is their POST-Soviet Fashion Show ad?!
If I had it, it would be in there.
Does anyone know the name of the voice over guy from these commercials?
Dave Thomas and Colonel Sanders were friends😊
Two of my favorite founders. RIP to both
The only thing that stayed the same as the Frosty the prices are outrageous. The chicken sandwich is disgusting.
I’m eating a chicken sandwich right now it sucks it’s thin it’s very very refined like dog crap
This is the embodiment of when America was the greatest nation on earth - now it’s just an embarrassment to be American
Odd comparison, but whatever.
@@ethanstvjunkyard9551 just saying, simpler times - eat your cheeseburger and enjoy, no political messaging for your “$11 pride burger with extra joe biden rainbow sauce”
Whatever.
True
@@Hairycheese1 I love when republicans make things up to be mad about. Keep getting triggered by LGBTQ people existing, it’s hilarious.
My favorite was the one where this computer geek was explaining RAM to Dave and he gave a look to the camera that was just classic 🤣
