      @@dannylynch6992 injury proneness, if you are an outfield player, you are way more susceptible to long term injuries due to your long legs because tackles and if you are a goalie, even tho you are taller than the goal itself it doesn't help if you can't get down in time and since freakishly tall people like him don't tend to have the best musculature a lot of injuries to the hands will doom him too

    Manute Bol was before his time. In today's NBA, he would have much more value as a stretch 5 who could block shots, shoot treys, run the floor in transition. Modern training methods would've also helped him build enough muscle to not get bullied so much. And his noble humanitarian efforts would've also been more appreciated in today's social media age.

    I remember seeing him at SEA-TAC airport in the late 80's when he played for Golden State the first time, I was in awe of how tall he was but had no Idea who he was, my friend who was a basketball fan said "That's Manut Bol", it was a memorable moment.

    Manute was a graceful player that ended up in the toughest era ever and on bad teams. Had he ended up on a contender like Detroit, Houston we still would be looking up to him both literally and figuratively.

    @3:42 that's Mugsy Bogues the shortest NBA player ever at 5' 3", drafted from Wake Forest at the same time Manute Bol was drafted in as the tallest player ever. Bogues became a great player and fan favorite in Charlotte for the Hornets.
