EXCITEMENT AT LAGOS CAMP AS DAVIDO BEGINS MANDATORY NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE

- There was excitement at the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC camp in Iyana-Ipaja Lagos on Thursday, as Nigerian Hip Hop Artiste, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, joined other Nigerian youths for his mandatory national youth service.
Over two thousand youth graduates from different schools within and outside Nigeria are posted to Lagos State for the Batch B 2018 service year which began with a swearing in ceremony and taking of the oath of allegiance on Thursday.
The appearance of the multiple award winning artiste, threw the orientation camp into frenzy as his fellow corps members, artisans, camp officials and security men, struggled to catch a glimpse of him. It took senior camp officials and security men some time before they could get Davido out of his car into the office where he was to complete the process of opening his personal bank account into which his monthly allowance will be paid.
The co-ordinator of the National Youth Service Corps in Lagos, Mohammed Momoh said they had to make a special arrangement to curtail the expected excitement that the appearance of the hip hop artiste would generate in the camp and said Davido will participate in all camp activities like any other corps member.
