    One piece of advice. Don't ever pull your fifth wheel pin until you have lowered your landing gear. It's a good habit to get into because you might forget one day, maybe you're in a hurry, and drop the trailer on it's nose.

      @Brett235 Funny you say that, I did that last week. Luckily it was empty and was able to get it back up.

      @@Againsttheworldlogistics I've done it myself. That's why I made myself get in that habit. We had a driver just last week drop a trailer on it's nose loaded with 50k lbs of treated lumber. . He thought that he was going to drop and hook and the forklift driver wanted it around the other side of the plant and he has already pulled his pin. He jumped in the truck, released the brakes and took off. Crushed the landing gear, bent the nose of the trailer and shifted the load.

  • @No-understanding_trucker

    It seems like y’all drop and hook a-lot

      There is defiantly more woman in trucking today than before, especially in the van division. I'm also seeing allot of woman doing flatbed now also. Look into these channels that i follow that are woman in trucking, Flatbedding with Jada, MisFitFlatbedHer, or RoadRunna Nia they have real good content.

    how do you like it there so far? i wanted to try them out i was looking for work online saw them on indeed saying they have work out of frederick md that’s not far from me

    • @Againsttheworldlogistics
      @Againsttheworldlogistics  Před 17 dny

      @@Pyrex_lex it’s not bad company side, but once you do lease purchase it’s very hard. Rates suck, breakdowns that you have to pay for from day 1 of signing your lease. I’m at a point where I might have to give the truck back. I haven’t seen a check in 3 weeks because the truck keeps breaking down. They do have loads out of Fredrick MD, but they don’t pay shit and they’re heavy, but if you going company it won’t matter.

      @@Againsttheworldlogistics thank you for the heads up i want to try out leasing but i need to hear from drivers cause according to recruitment everywhere i’ve inquired they make it sound like it’s raining 100s 24/7 and im not buying it

    • @Againsttheworldlogistics
      @Againsttheworldlogistics  Před měsícem +1

      @@33turkeyman Yes, Boyd will train you. Flatbed training is 3 days, after that you go out with a trainer for about 12 days the you run short loads around Birmingham for a week, test out, then out on your own.
