Hello Tom! I am a high school English teacher from "across the pond" and an avowed Anglophile. I so enjoy all of your videos. I've used some of your work in a Public Speaking course I've taught in the past (British vs. American pronunciations). Your work is extremely helpful to most, but especially for non-English speakers. You are a born instructor and a charming young man! I have your book, "A Really British Guide to English," and thanks to you, I stunned my family by knowing an answer on the American game show, "Jeopardy" about the meaning of "Bob's your uncle." Ha ha!
Brigthon is in most examples!
This course is a MUST! The Conversations section sounds particularly interesting and great for listening practice.
Ahh cheers Eric! Yes, the conversations section is my favourite and I'll be adding more and more over the next few weeks ad months
Nice one!
Cheers mate : )
I spent 2 weeks in the UK recently, and I love mushy peas to dip my chips in!
Agreed! I love mushy peas too!
These are great phrases 🎉
This is an amazing video! Regards from Catalonia,
Thanks so much mate, I'm really happy you enjoyed it. More to come!
Great ❤
Thank you professor for this amazing video
So nice of you Marcel, I appreciate your kind comment : )
Nice one :))
Cheers mate!
Yes, Tom I have and do think about living in the United Kingdom quite a lot. Thank you for your videos.
Awesome! Thanks for watching mate : )
Hello there! English spelling and pronunciation are a nightmare to me (or for me?) and the rest of the world, I think
Agreed, hopefully this course will help : )
Now, it was lovely seeing your sister again, but if there's a video of Gemma and you downing gins and feeling the buzz I'm buying this course😂
Hehehe Gemma was on years ago! Good memory : )
@@EatSleepDreamEnglish She is the ultimate persona, how could she be forgotten!
@@EatSleepDreamEnglishwho's Gemma?
Another British stereotype would be punctuality as well as dry/black humour with loads of sarcasm, you have to read between the lines to understand it and a good example of it would be Monty Python.
I remember when the border force officer couldn't recognise me and i was rejected the entry
Oh sorry to hear that!
vinila Ice cream? - What a terrible childhood! )))
Haha terrible, right? What's your flavour of choice?
@@EatSleepDreamEnglish All flavours and all toppings. I was taught this by a friend of mine who is now deceased. (Without the vinyl and rubbery taste, of course!))
Harry had a banana in the bath. But who was in the bath - Harry or the banana?🤔
A good question! One we'll never really know ; )
Stereotype about the British that stuck with me: stiff upper lip. In a good way, no cry babies. I like that.
Yes, that's one from the old days
❤❤❤
Everything went south
Nice! I love that phrase : ) I wonder why it isn't 'everything went north'

She’s certainly not an oil painting
A classic!
