I used to love watching this show when I was a teenager, they were great family shows back then

Candy Moore was great in her many roles on TDRS. Trivia--she was once married to Paul Gleason, the guy who was Assistant Principal Vernon in The Breakfast Club.

I love the simplicity of life back then. Family was important, people were more conservative, stories told without curses!

The only reason I can think of why Candy Moore was dumped from The Lucy Show was that Lucy was jealous of her. Even though Candy was not a regular on The Donna Reed Show, she always had a lot more to do on each episode she was in than she did on The Lucy Show and she was one of the featured players on there!

Candy was dumped because she was getting loads of fan mail and Lucy thought she was being outshined. CBS wanted to keep her but Lucy threatened to quit the show. Lucy didn't like being outshined, she even kept Vivian Vance down and didn't like her outshining her. No one was trying to outshine Lucy, but Lucy was insecure about it, I think it went back to her B movie days, when she was looked down upon for not being an A movie picture star.

@@JENDALL714 Candy isn't in Lucille Balls class....I hardly think that Lucy threatened to quit because of candy...

@@juliemnm8273 She did threaten to quit, it's been well documented. Lucy liked being center stage and took second billing to no one.

She should have reversed her stage name to Moore Candy.

This is my favorite character that Candy played of the three that she played on the show. Angie was too tom boyish and Beebe was to docile, Bernice is take charge but not too femi nazi!
