- Recordings from the cockpit of my flight from St. Maarten to St. Barts recorded with Gopro Hero 4 Black mounted on 2 way Gimbal, Roger Hodge was kind enough to contribute in a small video clip after landing where Roger talks about Twin Otter aircraft. So many thanks to Winair and their skilled pilots, a pleasure to fly with this company.
I love it that in this plane the props are moved inside the cockpit, that way the pilots can monitor them without having to turn around!
😂 good one!
The captain wears that glove like a boss
That's one hell of a final approach. Hats off to the pilots.
the driving aeroplane is that not simple but landing is very simple but Sunny do not funny subscribe this words
The Captain exudes an experienced based, cool measured command competence of exquisite nicety. The interior ceiling fans add a visual sweetness to the overall excellence of this aviation video. Well done. Bravo!
I like this pilot, his cockpit gestures are great, he knows his plane inside and out, and that was an impressive landing. A+
This captain is so badass he doesn't need props to fly. He is simply using the throttle to control the fan for his badassness.
By far, my new favorite aviation video!
True aviators, piloting a nice Twin Otter... The Captain style, really badass! It is evident all the experience he has flying over the Caribbean, in the real old school way!
Hope I can take a fly with him as the Pilot!
Hands on flying like a real pro. Nice landing.
Twin Otter is boss! Awesome video of awesome flight. I could watch this all day long.
Absolutely one of the BEST aviation videos I have EVER seen!! Seeing this video in full-screen is almost like being there! That smile on the captains face after that awesome and smooth landing says it all :) A big thumbs up!
Vídeo belíssimo, grato! Jean Carlos Oliveira
***** Thank you, Captain Roger is a good pilot and he likes what he does, has flown with him two times, after a period of 337 days, so I am going out and fly with him back to St. Barth and Saba. Glad your the good comments to this video

Been there. You drop quickly and land at the beach. Sunbathers are totally unfazed.
Just starting to view this, and already I get an appreciation for pilots and the knowledge they have, to operate and fly the many different aircraft!
I flew about 500 hrs of Twin Otter 300 long ago, I loved this video, thank you! Great crew!!
What a pros. They made it seem like the flight landed by itself.
Oh my gosh awesome! These pilots rock! Loved every second of this thrilling ride! Awesome awesome pilots!!!
The Captain and First Officer handle that take-off and landing like absolute bosses. If a crisis arose I am confident both have balls of steel to handle any eventuality.
Awesome! That landing was so gorgeous, I simply had to watch it few more times.
I just retired from 35 years of airline flying. This guy is GREAT!
You didn't think he had too much energy going into his pre-flare? My first instinct was to shoot a go-around.
Sosai X if you did that at this airport you would be shooting go arounds until you ran dry of fuel
Great pilot.Fantastic landing at St.Barths!
it is amazing to think that these two ordinary human beings can function a machine that huge, and the way they function around the cockpit, pressing buttons turning dials. I really respect what they do, can't be easy!
Harnil Lakha indeed

Say what, its only a twin-prop....lol.
2 X PT6A-27 engines. :-)
m3luk h It's a twin prop, it's not that big of an aircraft in comparison to the big jets. Aside from that it takes a good couple of years to be a fully qualified pilot, and a heck of a lot of money.
Two four-stripe pilots and a Canadian-made aircraft, it's flying in style, man!
What struck me was the easy coordination between pilots during checklist procedures like pre-takeoff, pre- & post-landing and shutdown. A thoroughly professional team with that vital ingredient, they work well together. Excellent video thanks.
yup . really smooth team work
Plus they have tons of practice since they are island hopping most of the time they are constantly going through the checklist
epic mustache and awesome landing! loved this video
+PhlyDaily yeah great landing! Do you have a pilot licence too? I only know you from your warthunder vids :D
+PhlyDaily Dead right ;-)

Iing! Love dthisvideo
Great flying by very skilled and experienced pilots!
that was the smoothest landing I have ever see
Blimey that's a crazy approach into St. Barts - and no traffic control on the road below - nuts!
That seems like the kind of pilot I'll be, focused yet chilled. Amazing stuff and in my favorite prop :)
That´s a fscinating approach and landing. Especially the final part down the hill, parallel to the road traffic.
Brilliant video and flight!!..Many thanks to yourself and the crew especially...Laurie
Awesome video. Thanks very much. What a charming Captain
Thank you, yes Roger is a charming Captain and very skilled
The glove on the left hand of the captain.....fabulous! 😂👍
Excellent, St Barths is something else. Crazy final approach!
I love this video. Thank you for putting time into recording such an amazing video. I appreciate that
Even I got excited during that approach and landing. Damn!
Best footage of a Twin Otter, just love the sound of those engines... really grunty. Great flying too by some amazingly humble pilots. Well done guys... wish I could have the privilege of flying with you (if I ever win Lotto!).
+David Stewart Hope you win the Lotto, and visiting St. Maarten and not least a flight with Winair to St. Barth, I have booked apartment and airline ticket so the 178 days I am back on St. Maarten and I should certainly out and fly a trip to St. Barth again :-)
A pleasure watching these pros at work.
Just amazing how detailed these men are the level of professionalism is awesome id love to get one of these early flights just to witness this
Beautiful! Great pilots
I've been down in that area for months. I don't think there is another place on earth that is more beautiful.
This video was a flash back to my piloting days, very cool...it makes we want to fly again....
Love love love that landing! Coasting in and then BOOM dip it right over the hill and set her down on the tarmac. Brilliant flying
Yes, it's incredible... for just a moment one is staring at the concrete runway and black tire marks.
pilot owns that flight....great job
good landing Capt
I've flown in Twin Otters many times and really like them. The engine sound is great too.
Those propellers in the cockpit sure can move that aircraft pretty fast.
Absolute top notch video
ian neil Thanks!
Very polite pilot and a great professional :)
Completely agree :-)
I LOVE this video - the sound is spectacular! ♥
Thank You!
Thank you for this great video! TNCM to TFFJ is one of my favorite xPlane simulator flights and it was great to see this cockpit video! Seeing airspeed and altitude on this approach makes me want to fire up the sim and give it a try. CHEERS!
Fantastic video! Thanks for posting.
Good piloting! I'd have caught my hand in that fan several times!!!
Hi
Nice cockpit view! I gave a thumbs up to this video!!!
The Airplane Guy Thanks :-)
There's a man that knows his plane. Joy to watch him hitting all those switches without even looking.
thank you for the trip !
very professional pilot .. a one hand landing
The quality is breath taking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Altenholz Thanks
That pilot was as cool as a cucumber landing at the world's 3rd hardest runway. Great video!
that runway sure is one hell job but the pilot made it look like a regular runway....amazing pilot.
hii
Dehavilland DHC 6-300 series twin otter, made in Canada (Bombardier
Aerospace) Shown in this video is the much older model with analog
gauges, pre:1998 :-) many airline companies have replaced the older dhc-6 with the Q-400 model with modern technologies and glass cockpit, also made in Canada by Bombardier Aerospace.
There are some otters with a glass cockpit, but there is no Q400 variant.
Thank you very much for the wonderful flight - greetings from Germany!
Thanks 4 sharing this amazing video. Impressive runway. The Twin Otter19 makes the job with perfection.
+flygwada971 Thanks
This was a fantastic video all around. Like others mentioned, the camera angles, sounds, exposures are all perfect... but most importantly, watching professionals like this is really a treat. you can tell these guys are so comfortable in this piece of equipment.. it's almost like their just managing the sequencing of their leg movements while taking a walk through the park.. totally natural, automatic, and effortless. thanks for the upload.
Thank you
Wow, looks like he used very little thrust reverse when he touched down. That's amazing on that runway.
Everything about this video is just awesome.
Fantastic, thanks very much, my first flight in a Twin Otter was from St. Lucia (Vigie) to Union Island and that was even more scary than this one. (in 1989)
I was searching for such a video because I can now watch my old video tapes , and I have also been in the Caribbean taking videos in a Dash 8, many years ago.
On the Twin Otter flight by LIAT the pilots also used to wear sort of biking gloves, that was special. No wonder they have to work hard as they usually fly at around 7'000 feet and the weather can be quite challenging.
For other readers: check the Caribbean and you can still find Twin Otters and other small pro planes doing the hard work at the shortest runways :--)
Good Lord that was a sweet landing. He brought that bird down without a glide slope and no ILS. Now that’s flying.
Practically nose diving steeply down a grassy hill unto a very short runway.
Why would he need to use the glide slope, he was landing using VFR, visibility was great. It's the same way any other pilot would land on a clear day.
16:33 Amazing how quickly they came into such a compact area. Pilots seem to be fearless.
Great video. St. Barts landings are always awesome. Great teamwork. Kudos. Thanks for sharing.
+javacup912 Thank You
I agree. A great video. The captain seems like a good sport.
Excellent landing
Smooth!! Great Video, thank you for sharing it with us! :)
+FSAUDIOGUY Thanks
GREAT video!! This pilot knows that airport well, obviously.
Those pilots are on another level....I’m full of admiration for their skills. Dam they’re good 👍
This is the sharpest video I've seen on CZcams yet!
+cclayhammer Thank You
Kurt Panduro lam
Oh man ! that was a scary approach and landing handled with cool aplomb by Captain Single-Glove.
Love seeing a flight crew working together. Always considered a pilot to be the ultimate professional! I may be biased however as I retired 4 years ago from a 40 yr/20,000 hour flying career ;)
ugh! You part timer !
That landing never get old, truly insane😱
Holy cow that approach is vicious. I love the 60Hz video.
That captain has so much experience on this plane he can fly it blindfolded.
Brilliant video, classic DH yoke and cockpit, great views and great flying - those cooling fans look like they could bite though!😄😄😄 I could have listened to more from the captain, fascinating people these types of pilots, very skilled.
Thanks for the amazing ride
Great video!
+Scott Lich Thanks

The Engines on this aircraft is amazing!
PT6A-27 engines ;-)
That was great watched both men fly and nice takeoff and landing!
god that looked gusty on short final. these guys are the guys you want behind the controls absolute cracking job
Twin otter is one hell of an aircraft. You can take it down almost everywhere, and with a bit of wind you can almost turn it into a VTOL.
One of my all time favorite aircrafts. It is a simple, robust and straight forward aircraft without any “bling”. It is a proper tool for a proper pilot.
That was a pretty damned exhilarating landing!
I don't think that would ever get old.
Just did this last July
Great trip, Had lots of fun
Thanks for the video
+jasason10 You're welcome
No wild power fluctuations on the captain's landing---smooth transition from approach to landing.
Not many people record the pilots doing the engine checks on the first flight of the day like that. Cool to see.
+T McGee Thank You
Simply put....... these guys are Pro's. Great video.
Kevin Braden Yes, thank you !
Luv St.Barts!! this was a great video, thanks for sharing!!
Thank you
Love the flying gloves :P
Nice landing.
Thanks for sharing, I love to fly and this was a great real world view! =)
Excellent Video & Aviator's Hand On Perfect Performance
Thanks
Just amazing, these guys know their affair!!!
Like the man says, that Otter IS a "short-field and landing beast". Know nothing of it, but it had no roll at all and a damn high climb rate.
God bless every pilot in the world what a great people I love you guys "if you ask me to wash your feet at any given time I am happy to do it" what I mean is you give your life to for your passengers you guys amazing 😀 thanks so much for camera man and r
awesome video,on of my faves and a more detailed birds eye view of the cockpit and pilots procedures.
Nat Turner Thank you, am pleased you like my video.
The pilot made the landing as it was easy ^^ ! Great !
