  • Check out how I built this simple corner wall mounted TV stand using 1x6s and a few screws. It's a simple project and really opens up floor space in your room! It could also be turned into a desk if mounted a little higher or could even be used as a pantry/storage area if you made several smaller ones.

    I would definitely move the speaker to the bottom. That would look awesome!

    I like the idea. I am thinking about building something similar but for a lot bigger TV. Not sure if I will go along a flat wall or in the corner yet. Its currently on a stand so I am going to try placing it in the corner and using it like that for a couple of weeks to see which location i prefer. Considering putting a decorative panel down the back side of the shelf to hide all the wires.

    Hey 👋Mrdiydork how are you? That was a great demo! I have a 40" heavy Panasonic flat screen 📺 wondering if I do a floating wall for it will the tv fall? 🤔I have no brackets on the back of it so I have to build a floating wall😥

    • @donbotting8179
      @donbotting8179 Před 7 lety +2

      Annette Villalongo if it's solid pine like this and your hitting at least two studs either side like he did it will hold a pretty considerable amount of weight. consider using Pl for the wall mounted boards as well as the screws if you're really worried. if it's crazy heavy you could do some board and baton look to the wall underneath it and the batons running to the floor from the shelf would also help hold it up

  • @jakel.1724
    @jakel.1724 Před 7 lety

    I need some help. I want to do something very similar, but the corner I want to use isn't a 90 degree angle. Is is, but there about a 13 inch flat spot in the corner. Like the top of a trapezoid, it that makes any sense. Could this method still me used?

    • @MrDiyDork
      @MrDiyDork  Před 7 lety

      Yeah, I think you could still build something like this. It would just have a flat back end instead of the corner. You'd probably want to cut a hole in the center of the back board for the cables to run through.

    • @toddinthemiddle

      Yes. I have double corner TV shelves in 2 different rooms. There are face plate strips across each of the 4 shelves to give them a more finished look.

    • @MrDiyDork

      I thought about mounting it like that, but it looked kinda "heavy" down there, so I put it up top with the tv, where it sorta disappeared.

  • @SrtRacerBoy

    • @MrDiyDork
