Xtracycle Family Bike Camping - Angel Island

A round trip adventure to Angel Island without ever getting in a car. We packed up our camping gear and kids on Xtracycles, rode to Pier 41, took a ferry across the San Francisco Bay, rolled our bikes off the boat and climbed with ease to our campsite overlooking the city, the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. After a day at the beach, we took our children for a ride around the island to explore the sites ending the day with a sunset hike. Yay, thanks. I love Angel Island. That brought back memories of taking my own children camping. Pro tip: when it's starting to get dark, never tell a six year and eight year old that raccoons are just "little bears". They will make you put the hammock way higher in the tree.
