    Over the last 20 years I've kept and bred loads of fish, Oscars, discus, koi and many others but in the last couple of years I've gone back to angelfish and show quality guppies because they are so nice to watch in the aquarium and they are less of a chore. The angels have really become my favourite.

    Many years ago I raised black lace veil they were pure black and the large draping veil looked just like black lace and when the flared them absolutely gorgeous fish the were about 6" height large palm size. Had to move and had to get rid of them and all my other fish would like to find a couple of pairs like them and raise them again. Loved the long veiled tail. When the ones I had moved it was with such grace it was like they were royalty. They had wonderful personalities and were great. parents. This reminds of them and the anticipation for them to lay and watch them raise the young. They were so gentle and attentive with the fry. About every four to six weeks more babies. Wish you well. It wont be long especially as she is making the runs as if she was laying.

    I have my second batch of Angelfish fry. I probably have 60 free swimming and about another 100-150 still stuck on the laying slate. I know live food is the best for them but I’m feeding them hikari first bites and they do really well. I’m not a professional fish hobbyist, Im not putting a lot of effort into it. The Angelfish are very good parents! Very attentive.

    Thank you Mark for your informative videos. Some may find it boring as it goes into a very detailed process, but I like it even though I have bred most of the fish you have featured. It is always great to see another point of view and learn something in the process. I have been out of the hobby for 15 years. Was a big time breeder of Lake Tanganyika cichids mainly C. Frontosa, Synodontis Petricola, Lepiolamprologus Nkambe, Cyprichromis Kitumba Jumbo and Neolamprologus Tretocephalus. I still have 122 tanks in the fish room, albeit devoid of fish. Kids were growing up then and could not find time to make water changes. Came back to the hobby 5 months ago focusing on planted tanks and along the way, corydoras breeding left and right! I like your videos because it does focus on the subject matter and not on the person making the videos. I can never understand the fish videos these days where at first glance you'd think the video was about the person and not the subject! Keep the videos coming and again many thanks.

      I have been feeding free swimming cory babies with the hard boiled egg method like I use to with the Synodontis Petricola. Watching your video on infusoria culture seems to be a better alternative without having to worry about polluting the fry tank and constantly making 85-90% water changes. Watching that video again now and going to make myself some infusoria culture. Thank you.

    Hey mark, my angels who i believe are a pair have been in a tank alone for about a month now. Temp is 28 degrees, i have huge driftwood, tons of live plants, 2 filters, few big flat rocks. Tank is about 100-1200 liters custom made. I am doing water changes every week. They have been cleaning a fake leaf that i put in there for spawning. I mean they started cleaning it after few hours. Everything was looking good, female started doing dummy spawns and everything. That happent 4 days ago. since then no eggs and my angels are not cleaning or dummy spawning.... Have any idea what's happening? Tank is in my bedroom, they have amazing appetite, constantly swimming together, i just dont know why they didnt spawn.... I even covered the front side of the tank for few days so they could not see me in the room, still nothing.

I am torn between getting Angels or the Shell Dwellers of Lake Tanganyika.. I am going to build my own stand because I can make it much stronger and just better than the ones for sale.. I am going to set up a 75 gallon tank to start and then go from there.. I know I want to breed something, I would love to get a pair of the Purple Shoulder Severums and breed them.. I would need to research where to obtain that specific fish.. I just think they are absolutely beautiful.. I want to breed to enhance the colors and stuff like that.. I would like your opinion on breeding and specifically inbreeding.. I don't like that idea at all and would never do it like that.. Does anyone talk about inbreeding that you have heard ??

    Anyone know if I could breed bristlenose and Angel's in the same tank with out problems?

    • @MARKSAQUATICS
      @MARKSAQUATICS  Před 5 lety

      In a heavily planted tank you could.
      Angel's are quite predatory and will pick off some fry.

    Sir how to know the male ,female angel fish? Please give tips for the same sir

    • @MARKSAQUATICS
      @MARKSAQUATICS  Před 4 lety

      On male angelfish, the tube will be pointy and narrow. It might look something like the tip of a sharpened pencil. With female angelfish, the tube will be rounder and have a cylindrical shape.

    I see you move after you moved the Poco Plant she stayed by the slate, in the beginning of this video the Poco plant was blocking the slate and for the male to sperm the the space was too small, next time place the slate on the right side of the tank clear from the plants.

    Yeah those air fresheners probably aren’t any better for people than they are for fish.
