Quintana Roo, the state in Mexico where Cancun is located is very safe and absolutely beautiful. The entire economy is tourism so the government has a huge incentive to keep it safe.

Hey guys, I commented last video about the pronunciation about Liu Huanhua. (Li-Oh basically). I think you guys are class acts and do a great job pronouncing all kinds of names. Great job with Asian and Chinese names in general. The main reason I offer this correction is it makes things easier for you guys, this way you know you can talk about Liu (Li-Oh) easily without anyone thinking you are talking about one of the Lis. Of course, in context most of us will know who you are talking about anyways so it’s no real big deal. Thanks for the content as always lads!

FWIW--i've lived super close to Mexico my whole life (San Diego California), and my family still safely vacations there regularly. I don't think it's as big of a deal as what the news portrays.

    American here 👋
A lot of people like to say that our nation is more divided than it has ever been. I disagree. I believe that the vast majority of citizen fall slightly to the left or right of the center, usually being mostly moderate and understanding of political issue. I do think however that the extremes on both ends of our political parties have gone far beyond what they used to be. I also believe that our political differences are exaggerated by the fact that no news agencies in the United States are unbiased. They are all owned by their political party. This causes misinformation to be spread, and makes the regular citizen far more likely to aggressively defend their political party as a consequence, as they believe the other side is evil.

Big facts. It’s a big reason I don’t watch or pay attention to the news anymore. When you actually get out and brave to have a conversation about any given “political issue”, most people will explain their point of view and move on. Even if you disagree with them, they’re usually more polite than not. Some can get condescending, but that’s usually my queue to leave the conversation.

On the U.S. political division one thing that I have experienced for a while is if people don’t know where you stand they are friendly & polite. But the same people can be viscious online. A small but non-trivial number will let online hostility spill into real life, usually in the form of “freezing out”. A surprising number of these are women their trigger issues are not the ones talked about in the mainstream a lot. Like parenting & healthcare topics foster some wild radicals

This is very unpopular for me to say as a teacher, but illegal immigration is killing our schools in America. I teach in north texas, and the school I was at last year had an insane amount of illegal immigrants as students. I knew it was bad when we announced that a trip we were going to take next year required flying and a bunch of kids were crying because they couldn’t go due to lack of documentation. The amount of tax money spent educating kids whose families don’t pay taxes for them to live here is absurd. This is also unpopular to say, but most of those kids have parents who work multiple jobs, and aren’t able to actually parent them, and a lot of the students who have the most behavioral issues never have parents come to conferences or even their events for sports or fine arts, and we are expected to step in and act as surrogate parents. I love helping kids mature into adulthood, but it is impossible for that to happen if the only time they’re guided by an adult is at school. The effects of illegal immigration are far beyond just criminal activity like violence or theft or kidnapping.

There's also the issue that comes with how much resources have to be spent on students and parents who only speak Spanish.
The amount of people I interact with on a daily basis who cannot speak or read any English at all and have children middle school aged who can't read is crazy to me.

    • @drip369

Well if they couldn't do a field trip, how in the world did they get enrolled in the school in the first place? Wouldn't there be a similar hindrance?

    • @Davis.smith.weightlifting
      @Davis.smith.weightlifting Před 6 měsíci

@@TheLyingFigureyep, there are districts in our area who can spend way more money on teams and programs because there are almost no students who are English as second language because teachers need less state mandated training, and students need less mandated literacy testing; so all that money goes to capital and facilities that districts like my current one can’t because of all the other things we have to spend money on. Teachers can’t teach to the middle and top of the class here because so much time is spent on the kids who came from areas with worse education and don’t speak English. I have no problem with having diverse schools when it comes to culture and race, but I don’t see how we don’t have special campuses that ALL they do is focus on integration for students coming from other countries, and not just Mexico. My wife teaches at a school that has kids from all over Asia, Africa, and south/ Central America coming who don’t speak English and only a fraction of them speak Spanish. It’s an impossible task we have here in the education system.

Its just the irish way of pronouncing the name. Like how they say the word three.. The same with the names. Like in Spanish Walmart is Wewl-Mar or and Sprite is Ehsprite
Frosted flakes is Zucaritas maybe thats how they say Liu. Just a thought. It sounds weird to be speaking spanish and then all of a sudden switch to english accent and say Wal Mart perfectly. No one says Khaled right because its a letter that doesnt exist in English but it does in arabic and similar letter in Hebrew. Do they get mad at that. Their are many inflections in chinese and other asian languages that our ears are not accustomed to even catching ket alone hearing, so how can we even reproduce the sound.

Any tips for someone who has been training on leg machines for bodybuilding for 10 years and finally learning to back squat? I want to learn the squat as I shift my focus from bodybuilding to athletics/strength training while not losing the mass I already have.
Any helps from anyone is welcomed.
Thank you all in advance! 😊

The lads have a plethora of excellent squatting content you could take a look at.
If I were to learn the basic lifts again, I'd just look up the local weightlifting club and get coaching there. Weightlifting style squats, pulls, overhead work translates very well to athletics, not to mention clean/snatch for power production. Coaching will save so much time.

Get squat shoes/shoes with a heel elevation. Ensure your always hitting depth, filming yourself can help with this. Cutting depth in the name of chasing weights is one of the worst habits that people get into, ideally you just want to remove that concept from your mind hahaha. The lads have loads of videos as mentioned above, so pick up some cues and thoughts from there and experiment yourself. Running a dedicated squat program with a proper volume phase helps too as it can be really difficult to engrain good technical habits when working at higher percentages all the time and not doing enough total reps. As with everything, practice makes perfect :)
