June 20, 2016: After a couple of days of work, searching and emailing, I have discovered who the violinist is.
In this video Slovak violinist Ivo Remenec is performing a violin adaptation of the song entitled, “Comptine d'un Autre Eté: l'Après Midi” by French musician and composer Yann Tiersen: vimeo.com/29855697 The most well known version of Tiersen's song features in the soundtrack of the film "Amélie" (French title: "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain").
Ivo Remenec is a member of the "Adventure Strings" string quartet:

English translation of what is said:
Father (Assad Baransi): C'mon Rima! C'mon! Here I am filming, c'mon Rima for God's sake! For my sake! For my sake! C'mon start! [Do it!], C'mon Daddy! (here it's normal for Dads to call their child "Dad", and Moms to call them "Mom").
I was very touched by the performance in this video and wanted to use my video editing skills to try correcting in a graceful way the issue of the video turning between vertical and horizontal orientations found in the original recording here. → • Palestinian tourist da...
By doing this and then sharing my fixed version of the video in a few key social media sites I also hoped to help this awesome and magical performance be seen by more people.

I can't find that comment now, but someone wrote: We all sometimes need somebody to tell us "yalla yalla, do it!"
So true.
absolutely
So true! He dad has her back 🥰
yalla do it
Yalla do it
this looks like a scene out of a movie
Really does !!
It is a movie life.
Movies are depiction of life
Or anime 😢
Sometimes stars align for a brief moment. This one of them. Violinist, song, location, dancer, dress, wind, someone who wants you to shine... check check check
Just found they got together for another performance czcams.com/video/-MMFHvSccpk/video.html

Simply beautiful combination of WOW!!!
Your comment is incredibly beautiful :}

joseph esposito This man is hardly encouraging her to do anything of the sort. If a simple dance can have such an effect on a man, perhaps he is the problem. She is simply doing what she loves.
joseph YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CERTIFIABLE

it's something wrong with your thoughts if you see her as a sexually provoke only
joseph esposito You're really a sad person, and your mindset is not only gross but not at all what this video is about at all.
her father is telling her to dance. but in reality, he's telling her to be free.
Abdul Raheem Rakim Tawano this is a very underrated comment

That's beautiful

You really made me shed a tear
♥️
I've seen this at least 100 times. I cry every time.
This is, to me, no joke, the most beautiful piece of art, any kind of art, any modem, I have ever seen.
There is something so pure about the connection of a musician and a dancer when they are performing live. Making music and dancing were probably the earliest art forms and therefore our most instinctual. But strangers, connecting like this, building art spontaneously together.
I will cry every time
It still makes me cry too
That makes me cry too
Same. Now and then, I search for this video and every time I smile and I cry❤
I have the exact same reaction every time too! So incredibly beautiful! ❤
I couldn't have said it better!
An applause also goes out to that father for putting his daughter in ballet lessons & encouraging her to go out there in public & dance it!! He knows his daughter, he knows that's a song she loves & dancing to.. he told her to dance it.. she hesitated & said no.. he finally said "do it!" And her body just let it out.. we all saw her passion & love into her dancing... then when it was over the dad yelled "Woa!" As everyone clapped. He proudly recorded his daughter dancing ❤️
And her mother too! (She was a ballerina 😊)
I loved the way the violnist and the dancer bowed their heads to each other.. Just two artists acknowledging the beauty of the others art.
Yes indeed

Fate put together two beautiful artists
It is so sad to think, that in today’s world, many parents won’t get to see their children flourish to be as beautiful as this young lady. So much love for this father & his daughter. My prayers to Palestine. YOU WILL CONQUER ❤️ 🙏🏻
Support Palestinians against Israeli oppression!
If Palestine wins, no one will dance like this 😉

good luck to both artists cause that was a great minute and a half! thanks!
It's because her dad told her to at least do it 'for him'. So sweet ❤️

This video will never get old, remains my most favorite of all time....the music is beautiful and so was her dancing, and you can tell she just felt it....just 2 strangers bonding in a moment in time. ❤️

omg yess I feel you!!!
OMG yessss!!!
I'm also really, really touched by her dancing to that music, especially on the street, so natural and spontaniously!! My fav song as well eventhough it always makes me cry.
Exactly.
This video make me cry every time. Having a dad who support you and believe in you, even when you doubt yourself should feel fantastic.
This is just
sublime! I adore the dad. He kept encouraging her and she hesitated, then as of to say “ok ok” she dove right in. What a beautiful bond she shares with her dad who, unlike so many other fathers, is teaching her to be free! Beautiful music, beautiful dance. I feel blessed to have seen this ❤️😭🥰

I've watched this over and over for years and it's one of the most powerful clips I've seen. I love Yann Tiersen and this song is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created. First time I heard it I wrote down on a note that I want this song played at my funeral.
same!!
This never ceases to make me cry. Even more now that I know her dad is encouraging her
She seems so liberated when dancing. Beautiful.
This is such a beautiful moment between 2 strangers.
No one is stranger in this earth because there is only ONE🙏😇
I have seen this for the first time today and she won me over with her dancing to this fantasic tune from the violonist. You can see her spirit and love of dance take over from from her body, she was in complete trance. Hope she and the violonist make it in this tough world...
Sometimes you don't have words.
This is such a beautiful moment, looking like a scene from a movie.
This video is to me the definition of art. That is because art is a living thing. There is art in the beautiful streets of Italy. There is art in the spontaneity. There is art in the sadness and tenderness that is flowing from the musician and from the dancer. Art is in the fragility and passion coming from the dancer. There is art in the father urging his daughter to soar. Art is in the onlookers clapping in the end. Art is what binds the events in this video into a beautiful story. And finally, art is what makes me feel so much while watching this. This video just makes my heart overflow with joy, with passion and a sort of pleasant melancholy, all at the same time. Art truly is a cornerstone upon which humanity rests.
I'm betting you're a school teacher... HA!!!
@@timrose5740 haha, no....HA!?!?

Just amazing, so happy to see an Arab girl dancing in that way... just "wow"

+narkar maybe he mean that Arabic girls always wearing hijab and always in the home

Unfortunately, most of our girls wearing the hijab and always in the homes and have great talents chic
+Abdullah Alhiddi that is not true!!! we are not always at home wearing hijab, we work, study, we have talents. we do everything but we are not under the spot light thats it
I cry every time I see it, because it's amazingly beautiful, because I love contemporary dance and because she is Palestinian, like me
I love the way how she had a chance to dance, had a chance to supportive parents
I want to thank the dad who shared this gift with us. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you
MsNella Taylor she danced like a butterfly, flew freely, all this is because of the father's support, so parents be like, support ur children, because you as parents, matter more than the whole world
So much ugliness in this world, i feel emotional when i see something so beautiful as this. Thankyou
I disagree that there is so much ugliness.
Yeah,it feels like it shelters you from it.
Add a year to that...
I’m not UGLY! 😡
I have seen this thousand times and still I am always amazed by the graze and beauty of her movements. This dance always stirrs up my heart. Makes me think of all the beautiful things in nature.

***** I think they are living in Italy like most of Palestinian after the occupation..
***** actually the Palestinian inside the occupation part live there in good quality of life because they working with the Israel
***** of course there is apartheid in all life levels but at the end they are working and make money.. but they r living that kind of life by force and under a government that came from no where and took their homeland
One of my very favorite videos on CZcams. I've watched this so many times and it never ceases to move me. I love the encouragement by her father.
Her beginning to dance is so beautiful
The song is a violin adapted version of Comptine d'Un Autre Été, the soundtrack from the movie Amelie. If anyone is wondering.
thanks :D
Thank you
i started wondering after seeing your comment.
Thanks!
Chiar ma intrebam :D
I do appreciate your research. This girl is captivating. Amazing.
Cheers, thank you. It is a very striking event that Rima Baransi's father thankfully insisted on bringing into existence that she made possible with the violinist Ivo Remenec. Truly truly remarkable especially that first amazing twirl she does right as she starts to dance.
I have seen this vd again and again. The music, violin, Rima, everything and everyone was in the right place in the right moment doing the right thing. Conspiracy of the gods.
You are one scared lonely man that feels the need to ruin people's personal opinions and only see this as sexual.
A very lonely man...
Yeah, you definitely need therapy. Something is wrong with your brain.
Also, nobody gives a shit sbout this John the Baptist you're talking about, so stop repeating what you've already tried to shove in everyone's faces. Are you religious? Is that why you're calling dancing a sin? Or maybe you're just HELLA old with an outdated viewpoint.
Why am I crying?!! So beautiful both of them.
I tried to know why i cry when i see this but couldn’t, but seems like im not alone
You are not alone, this video is realy amazing, emotional…
When you can tell the violin player gets more consumed by the music as she dances is so mystical.

Her dance flows with the wind, it’s so beautiful. Her hands do the point thing that looks so delicate, her dress flows perfectly with the wind and kind of matches the scenery. Is like a movie scene where everything is pre planned to match an aesthetic but in this case is real and spontaneous. I could only wish to dance like that. Very good job girly, keep dancing on!
