- Steamworld Build combines city building with mining and is truly amazing thanks to the attention to detail that has gone into this game! Steam World Build is the wild west themed, desert based city builder with robots powered by steam from the same universe and developers as Steamworld Dig!

I like how every building is unique and it's instant build.
It's a cute take on Anno.
The building mechanic is so convenient we're now fighting our own chaotic self.
@@Sir1188 Without the need to chain yourself to Ubisoft.
@@Sir1188 I immediately thought of Anno. Love the inspiration, although very similar, it’s very unique too and I’m very interested in the game, looks like fun
innit
The reason cactuses need a scarecrow is because they grow a fruit that certain types of birds eat n if those get eaten then you potentially lose out on seeds for further harvests
Cactus lore!
Cocktus Lore
RCE hates night cycles but loves mining in the dark. It is very different. And only engineers would understand.
cell phone game with orange color filter
RCE, poking into a looped train rails: That is a mess!
Also RCE in Infra Space: ... (well, you know what I mean)
When he does it, it's efficient engineering. When anyone else does it it's architecture. That's how things work in these parts :P
@@TheDarklingWolf LOL
I was the 69th like, nice
ItS a TrAiN nAdO!!!!
Truck-nado!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A dungeon keeper / city builder combo? interesting.
and it's also a spin-off of steamworldDig!
YESS ! When I saw the mining part, I thought about Dungeon Keeper instantly !! Never played Dungeon Keeper 2... Did you Matt ? An idea for a new serie maybe ?
@@ramonsantoya96 War for the Overworld is a modern successor and a really good one
@@SergeMatveenko ok, i'm gonna see that, thanks man !
@@SergeMatveenko yes its an amazing spin off version of DK
"this part of a track is a mess" I wonder if RCE watches his own videos? Love you!
"I heard architects pay their editors well" SHOTS FIRED.
It's so obvious why he likes the charcoal kiln... It's because of the moving fan at the top
I love that RCE noticed a lot of the finer details of the world. His enthusiasm is contagious and I absolutely adored the little robo cats and dogs. Also to the person who edited the video, I loved your banter with RCE and specifically went back to rewind and pause to read it.
To RCE and his team of editors I would like to say: Top quality content as always! You guys are awesome :D
The city building works basically exactly the same as Anno 1800 (with more robots and less water)
Its Anno 1800, but retextured, or it at least looks like that to me.
I was thinking the exact same
It's basicly Anno but with a theme that makes it interesting for RCE video.
Yeah the whole "citizen needs" thing is straight from Anno
@@tibbevanlievenoogen5045 I didn't know Anno had an underground layer.
5:31
Such efficient placement of the the cactus fields
The mining aspect reminds me of the many hours of my childhood playing the dungeon keeper games. Sad the mining bots don't do the imp dance as they fortify the walls though.
Came here to say the same thing, you can really see the inspiration from DK here. War for the Overworld is also a great literal spiritual successor if you haven't seen it.
@PabloEdvardo that's one of my fav games, also yes I realize I'm not the original commenter
I love the editors. You guys rock.
you sir are a real miner, aren't you ? its the beard of a true miner. such magnificent beard.
@@monad_tcp I was a bartender when that picture was taken haha I'm now a marketing director. Haha but thanks. I feel like a miner.
I knew you will make a video of this game demo, because they have bridges and engineers.
1:20 "There's a Cat, that's no fun...." - Your reputation crumbles my lord 😺
I do actually like cats, I was just fishing for some comments hehe
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming Well played, I give you that! 😆 And it's a pleasure to do 😽😄
I was already really excited for this game when I saw their announcement, but after watching actual footage of it, I can't freaking wait! The SteamWorld series has such a charming aesthetic and such attention to detail, how can you not love it?
This game is amazing, very hyped to see more of it, I hope that you continue playin when the full version comes out.
Baisiclly RCE is playing the same game idea over and over again but its fun every single time and i love watching every single second of these videos
I look forward to you playing this when the full game drops.
This was great!
Man, the detail and custom animations and different buildings in this are downright amazing. What a gem!
Absolutely loving this game! Want to see more of the full game in the future 🔥
ahh the detail, i neeeed to upgrade this year, i just want to see my town with all the gears and pipes all moving and the whole place so lively. Brings me back to when i played warcraft 3.
This game looks actually pretty cool, would love to see more gameplay
This is like a budget Anno 1800. Love it.
The lore behind the steamworld universe is really cool, I hope you check out some of the other games as a result of playing this one
Instantly wishlisted. This looks like so much fun.
We need a series of this RCE.
As a Geotechnical Engineer specialising in mining. I love it!
Beautiful yet interesting game, good job to the devs !
Waiting for the full game! This was awesome
I've played all of the Steamworld games (Well, except this one), and they're all SO good. They always seem so simple at the surface but the complexity ramps up quick. You don't seem to be interested in RPG games, but Steamworld Quest is wonderful. I think Steamworld Dig 2 would be right up your alley.
I'd love a series of this once it's fully released
Can't wait for more of this series!!
I love all the games of the steamworld series and I think this new one will not desapoint.
Love this world where you find tools by simply digging underground :D
By now you probably already know this, but only buildings that offer a "service" (as specified in the building description) need to be in range of houses. The charcoal kiln, cactur farm, etc actually are better off being built as far as possible from your housing area, so that you have plenty room to build other services in the future. All the building that provide goods are interconnected thanks to warehouses. I always have one or two huge residential areas (the second one usually comes in late game when I'm out of housing space in the first area and need more workers, I build their homes in a shabby neighbourhood far away from al luxury 😈) and a few industrial areas that usually originate around forests.
I really would love to soo more of this Game a series would be just perfect. Hopefully we get that sometime soon 🙂
Oh wow, this is nostalgic, I played steam world dig like 5 years ago.
Love what you do. I've found a sound i can't even liste with out thinking of you. It's "Trust me, i'm an engineer !" of TPM555. Every time i imagine you and paddy dancing with your's hard hat on an legendary eggplant bridge. Love ya.
"Look at that! That is a mess!"
-Creator of the Trucknado and the Vertical wall of train
RCE relating to the charcoal kiln is basically him calling himself a giant knob. Love it
I'm looking forward to a potential future let's playof this game, it looks super fun!
you know how much i like mining and miners
Actually this game is pretty simular to Anno 1800 just much more simple. I would recommend it to you if you are looking for a simulare game that is much more complex and requires you to spend many hours on it. In addition I would say it's even more detailed than this game. (except the mining part of the game)
Looking forward to the full game!
The amount of Tumbleweeds RCE missed. I was laughing and yelling at the video. LOL.
I agree the little details make so much more
Always a good day when RCE uploads
This looks so cute! The buildings wobble!!!!!
I like the way the buildings jiggle when you move to "ghost" of it.
cant wait for full version to be released
Omg I’ve played all the playstation steamworld games, and they are all really really great. Excited for this one!
I love that you can rapidly expand
The Demo was lots of fun to play.
Thanks, will wait for this.
These people are made of strong stuff, so are vehicles and trains win everytime haha I suggest you take this to an in game experiment.
Will definitely be playing this game when it’s out
Satisfactory, you will love it. Just think of all the strongest shapes and bridge reviews.
This concept really reminds me of Anno 1800, with 3 different people types and resource management.
3:48 scraps + tumbleweed = scrumbleweed😂
It's good that this game shows you how many workers you're short by.
I loved both the Steam World Dig games.
The reason cactuses need scarecrows is some birds try to attack them. There’s a species of woodpecker that should actually be calling a cactuspecker because it excavates holes in the cactus to make its nest in. Very safe, lots of species like moving into them once the woodpecker is done with them but obviously you don’t want big cavities in your cacti. There are also birds that go after the cactus fruits.
it feels so alien in the desert sometimes, so many species living in towering saguaro cacti instead of trees.
also, there's a joke in "cactuspecker" somewhere
this is the cutest game I've seen in quite some time :D
😍 Loving the details all over my face.
please play this game more once it´s fully released, i love it!
Me: *zoning out after a long day at work*
RCE: "More miners is always a good thing."
Me: "Wait, what did he just say?"
This game actually seems pretty cool. Kind of a common style of mining and building but with a different grid/block system and graphics.
Great stuff RCE!
Need many many more series of thisssss....
One of the first times you played the game exactly how it was meant to be played. Was actually waiting for some shenanigans
I need more steam world I haven't seen any new videos about it for days
RCE: The rock is made by an architect
Me: THAT’S THE ROCK FROM CARS!!!
I like basically everything about this game.
Nice
I need a full series when it releases on Dec 1st!
Absolutely loved this video mate . Seems like an interesting game not gonna lie . Possible new series .
0:09 I legit choked on my water
When this game full releases would love to see a playthrough 😍🤠😲🤖⛏️🛠
RCE should play "Astroneer" a base building game where you can print different items and mine underground resources and become a engineer on his very own planet
I hope they will change the instant building, much funner to see your workers put the buildings together. Completing the demo felt like I had pretty much already finished the game, so I hope they are planning to drop much more content on release.
i hope not, that would slow things down so much with very little content. It's the one thing i hate about a lot of city building games, especially on resource buildings, like i just spent a bunch of materials to produce more of a resource, now i have to wait 5 minutes doing nothing because im broke and haven't received the production increase.
Mister Engineer if you haven't, take a look at the two Steamworld Dig games. Robots, mining, money, and clearly defined architects to fight.
that seems like a pretty solid game !
Anyone got lego Rock Raiders vibes from the mining? Some game like this was long overdue. Looks cute. Hope to see some underground working vehicles and powerful mining tools.
Underground mine is giving me mad Dungeon Keeper vibes
Look forward to this game coming out
i was fully expecting you to say: so lets build 4000 roads
STEAMWORLD! Ah, I remember Steamworld Dig back in the day, I'm glad they're still going.
I hope he plays more of this when the full game is released.
This game looks awesome 😎
At 7:00 the building reminds me of a Terran building from Starcraft 2. It was Day9's favourite one, because it looked like it was dancing.
Anyone else?
I like how the buildings jiggle before you place them
there's a game called plan B, terraforming, where you set up transportation across an large scale uninhabited world, and connect resources to factories to cities, which then gets the cities to grow on their own, which then they'll ask for different materials. for instance, at first they'd ask for concrete, so you'd need to set up extraction, depots, factories, then transport from factories to cities, but they'll eventually stop asking for just plain concrete, so you'll need to make something else, starting from the raw resources again. it seems right up your alley to make a video on.
Love seeing RCE using those GRIDS!!!! (unlike his Infraspace chaos!!)
The sprite from the editor ... Its amazing
Love this game man, you should make it a serie though. Is up on you Matt. Love the contect so much
I want to see more episodes of this game.
This seems like it's the sequel to "Steamworld Dig" which was a really fun game that I think would be a fun feature on this channel
Edit:
It seems there was a "Steamworld Dig 2" that was also released and very highly rated
The rocket thing makes me wonder if there's an endgame of some sort, something SEVERELY missing in many city builders today...
Well, I am already sold on this game. xD The beavers didn't know when to stop making robots, and now we are here in the wild west after the robots were exiled from the dam for drinking.
Mining aspect of this game gives me Dungeon Keeper vibe.
this reminds me a lot of anno 1800. not in terms of looks obviously, but the resident needs is VERY reminiscent of anno.
