As an hourglass/pear shape I am LOVING all the wide leg, straight, flare, literally anything but skinny, jeans! Haven’t worn skinny jeans in 2 years and hopefully never will again.
Same! The wide leg just looks so sloppy. Flares are great and always a classic, skinny jeans are so flattering and go with everything, wide leg will go out So fast because they're mostly frumpy.
Skinny jeans trend was also just a trend when it started. For decades prior to the 2010s, it was all about bootleg or mom jeans. The skinny has just been a trend from 2010-2022. For the whole life of jeans from 60s onwards it’s never been skinny. So realistically I don’t think the skinny will be on trend for decades more into the future.
I am a guy and let me tell you, in New York skinny jeans are back in style I don’t think that they have ever gone out of style in the city. And they go with everything
You’re right…I feel like skinny jeans were the only jeans you could find over the last few years. Before that everything was low waisted. I like that I see a variety of styles in most stores. 😊
I’m 68, size 6 and I love the new Jean styles. I bought wide flare jeans from the gap two years ago and have worn them tons of times. I also bought bootleg last year and high-waisted baggy (but not too, too) this past spring. I love having the variety to choose from. High waisted straight leg are probably still my favorite and definitely a classic, but it’s great to have other options!
Hi Katherine, I smiled as I was reading your comment. I felt like like you were discribing myself. I'm 68 and a size 6 also. I too love the new jean styles. I feel it's never to late to try new styles as long as it is something you love and are flattering to your body shape and size. 👍👍👍
First off, I’m ready for the ripped Jean trend, where it looks where you were mauled by a bear, would just go away. Secondly I’m having a really hard time finding a wide leg Jean that are long enough for me (I’m five nine), the cropped ones make me feel like I’m waiting for a flood
I never even considered buying barrel leg jeans, but I coudn't find any wide leg jeans that would create this super-oversized effortless look on my not-so-thin hourglass figure and on top of that super-wide denim makes my 5'2 hobbit frame look even more hobbit-ish -- the widest I ever went were Levis Ribages Jeans, so more like "straight leg". Randomly tried wide barrel leg jeans which is made from this classic stiff denim and fell in love. Somehow they are perfect on my waist and butt (and they don't have those pleats that a lot of mom jeans have that create unnecessary volume for me) and the fact that they are quite long for me BUT a bit narrower at the hem doesn't let them "drown" me. So girls, consider it!
Love me a wide leg Jean! Almost anything looks better on me than skinnies, so I’m glad to have alternatives be on trend. Joe’s are my go-to brand. Stylish. Not too expensive, and their sizing is so consistent.
I am up in age grew up in NY wore bell bottoms back in 70’s denim skirts etc you name it I wore it. I lived in my jeans and still love them to this day I was also much thinner back then and now the extra wide jeans would not look good on me but wear what looks best for my body now. Always a jeans/ denim lover no matter what ❤️
I love the high waist, wide leg and bell bottom styles. I have a few pair and they look really good on my body type. You just have to find what works on you. Those Hudson and Joe Jeans look great Anna ❤ 👖
For viewers in the UK or with access to Marks & Spencer, I have found their Eva Bootcut jeans (only £25!!!) an amazing, super flattering buy, they are medium rise, which personally I prefer to high waisted, and slightly bootcut, so flattering, I am petite and make me look so tall I have to do a double take when I see myself in the mirror. Marks & Spencer also have some fab corduroy high waisted flared trousers with vintage style patch pockets that remind me of those worn by the stylish Caroline Bessett Kennedy, they come in a range of colours and lengths so no need to have them tailored and under £40.
Anna, could you please feature corduroy trousers/pants in one of your videos? I bought some lovely ones in chocolate brown and airforce blue. Hope you had a wonderful time in Argentina, unfortunately travelling is beyond my budget but it's nice to be able to invest in clothes that make me feel good every day
I love jeans but I only wear straight leg and boot cut. I have a pair of (not crazy) wide leg but I have to be in the mood to wear them. 😊 I've never been big on trendy things but everyone should wear what they love. Anna, your legs look a mile long in the jeans you modeled! XXOO ❤️
Yay, wide is back. Love wide leg jeans. I wore a lot of wide leg pants in the early 2000's. But I agree for me it will be modified wide. Love the ones you have. I think I had your top in the 80s lol Back in Junior high school I was all about rainbow clothes. I also wore cargos in the very early 2000's but not going back to those at 54, then I was 31 lol
I am so happy that wide leg jeans are back. I was so frustrated that for 20 years you could not buy anything but skinny which I hated from day one. I got my last pair of wide ones 20 years ago from boys deparment but there is a limit how many times you mend threm and even though ripped jeans gave some hope to save them that didnt work out as the rips tended to be in the crotch area. Well anyway thanks agan for a great video with all the options I need.
I am 5'2" and I find that junior jeans fit me best- not "missy" sizes. If I can find a good cotton jean in size 11, it can work. If you are shorter, try Mossimo boyfriend jeans. I sewed a cool cat applique on a baggy pair and they are really grunge cute.
Hi Anna , I found a great pair of trouser jeans online with Banana Republic. The wash is dark which I'm not mad at. They run a little large and long but is noted in their description. 12:47
You made the best choices in wide leg jeans department. I can see the "patchwork denim/two tone denim in one piece" trend becoming dated in a few months. I do love a maxi denim skirt with a slit, but in dark blue raw denim. The raw denim (in my opinion) gives you more flexibility, you can dress it up or down.
Loving the wide leg jeans and flares right now.. but still have one black skinny jeans left for the tall boots for the winter.. yes cargo anything im into!
Nice to see a wide variety of styles, and there's probably something for every body type. Being short, with no waist and a tummy, the slim straight is the best look for me. Love the look of a wide leg jean on someone tall and slender!
Great video! I second the hourglass/pear comments about loving wide/relaxed and high waisted. I do have an issue with flare, they usually are too snug on the thigh for me. I just bought a pair of "trouser" wide leg jeans from Chico's. Very cute, but long for me. I'm washing and hoping a little shrinkage in length. The wide range of styles is a welcome change from skinny only times. For those who like a relaxed fit, heavy no stretch, traditional jean, I suggest Wranglers. I like them for cool weather walking the dogs and yardwork.
Oh wow! Denim suits, denim maxi, baggy denim, cargos, and multi toned denim just won't cut it for my petite frame. I have worked too hard to lose weight to be swallowed up by fabric instead of having something that fits me. I have always loved a wide leg, flare, straight leg or boot cut in a mid rise on my frame. I have ONE, 8 year old, pair of skinny jeans in turquoise that I fit into better than I ever did, and I am not going to stop wearing those this year.
Love it, my thoughts exactly I'm not going to follow these trends, I hated them in the 80's when I was a teen and still hate them today. I am 5'1" 110 pounds, hourglass frame, why on earth would I disguise myself in these hideous bags. No thank you. I feel like trends are never really geared towards petite frames.
Omg never gonna believe this but I had the exact same rainbow t shirt when I was a teenager was my absolute favorite I wore it tucked in a pair of white pleated shorts white skinny belt and my white Candies sneaks super duper looper cute❤️❤️❤️😘
Yay! My Sunday morning begins with coffee with Ana! Taking notes on denim. Being petite , properly scaled wide leg (and straight leg for that matter) is so challenging to find . My preferred fit would be considered a "slim" wide in a thinner denim so it falls nicer. Because I have to shorten all my jeans , after i hem flares they become bootcuts😂. I need to try Hudson . I would prefer flat front trouser denim. I love Aqua ! I'm much older than you, but what if acid wash ever comes back , yikes! I love denim on denim worn in different washes , but it's a hard pass on the accessories. OMG I think the Brittany /Justin look would make a great Halloween costume!
I love that I’m part of your morning coffee ritual!! Love this and when I was editing this I also thought the Brit/Justin outfit might be our next Halloween costume 🤣🤣❤️❤️
I'm floored and in love with the sheer amount of trends in denim right now. In my 49 years, I've never seen "wear the denim you want to wear, just wear it well!" I love those Joe's and I think I still have a pair of them just like those. Fingers crossed they still fit!😆 As for the two-tone vs patchwork, I definitely think the two-tone is just easier on the eyes than the jumble of random patches. Much more streamlined look. I remember those from the 80s - I bet we start seeing those tapestry floral patterns again. I've also noticed that even though it's a trend that's been around for years now, boyfriend jeans are being offered by more retailers lately. Different levels of bagginess and different washes and rises. Most are just loose jeans that are rolled up. For trouser jeans, maybe give Banana Republic (Retail or Factory) a look?? I've always loved that sailor pant look, glad that's back. PS, hope y'all did ok with Idalia, I was thinking about you and your shop!
Great items I like when you say " I don't know if myself can wear that look. Because I feel the same way certain trends and styles aren't for me also. 👍😁😇
Banana Republic has the BEST trouser jeans. They’re on a major sale right now. Size down 2. They run huge. I actually just picked up a pair for less than 20.00. 40% and then 20% off.
Recently I found WOW wide leg jeans at Old Navy. The fit is excellent (at least for me) with many options in size and colors. I have the dark wash, light blue and black. Love them.
Yes! I got flares, wide leg, light washed baggy jeans and a pair of khaki denim with a tiny "cargo" pocket in late winter/spring 2022 from Old Navy and I've never had better fitting, more comfortable jeans! I'm a 2X, 5'7". Their fit model must be built just like me!
Anna, I shop at White House Black Market. They have trousers jeans and different styles. Many have optional lengths. I always need the tall because I am very long legged.
Yes!!! Trouser jeans!! Saw a pair on Banaba Republic but when I looked today, they’re not there!🤷🏻♀️ I’ve searched but cannot find any as good as those. Pleats, wide (but not too wide) legs, hi rise, long…perfect! Maybe you’ll have better luck.
Patchwork denim must still be on trend. A celebrity stylist just released several different washes in patchwork jeans for this fall in her fashion line.
I love the wide legs and flares that have been out awhile. Always enjoy your style. I think they are fun! I also love the straight legs. Was happy to see skinnies back everywhere I go and online, but noticed you didn’t mention that trend’s comeback? I got rid of my skinnies couple years ago, but now am buying them again!
Re: barrel jeans, I am very petite but have wide hips, I won't be wearing barrel jeans but relaxed boyfriend jeans with rolled cuffs are surprisingly flattering on me
Love all the trends in this one. I would consider a denim headband, flower pin or maybe a handbag but that’s as far as that goes! I haven’t tried barrel leg jeans yet…I have a flat backside and no hips so not sure if they would work for me.
For me in very interesting to see that in other countries people actually take the Leigh of the pants into account to buy them. I've never had pants that I don't have to take to a tailor, I just assume that all pants are going to be super long. Almost everyone I know does exactly the same thing.
Anna, I think that it’s the symmetry of the two tone denim that makes it more desirable than going with the patchwork jeans. The two tone is more wearable with casual and can be worn dressed up as well. I also love the split him jeans but I am only 4‘10“ tall so even if I bought a pair and still have to cut them off and I can’t seem to be the right length and to even try to do the split him after that it’s just not feasible for me because cutting them off would remove the flared leg. Great video, Anna.
Also( gosh my spelling is terrible!) the Bermuda denim shorts have to be the RIGHT style and length according to your body type. They are just not for me.
I Love Your Videos. So informative and Fun to watch. I have a pair of Paige pants from Nordstroms which are very wide leg. They are a Great color of green. I'm 5'3". I thought they would make me look unbalanced, but I do Love the look. I wear them with my pointy boots. So comfortable! Nordstrom rocks with the customer service and free alterations. A WIN WIN for Me. Have a Great weekend.👍🤗
Saw this post late but wanted to share my favorite trouser jeans by Ariat. I was looking for a slightly lower mid-rise, if that makes sense, and I found Ariat’s Lucy trouser jeans, medium dark wash. At 5’6”, I wear these in a size 4 with flats up to 2” heels and generally dress them up with a silk shirt or cashmere sweater. They don’t look western at all unless I add riding boots, which is pretty common where I live.
Anna! Thank you for using inclusive and diverse images as your stock photo examples! I saw one of my faves (Kellie B!) and it’s just so nice to see these trends and styles on all types of folks.
I have the split hem jeans from Express and I love them! I'm 5'9 and got the regular fit, so they may be a little long on you. If you wear heels or platform shoes you will probably be fine! I don't wear heels lol
I purchased a pair of looser wider leg jeans and I hate them. I look and feel fat and dumpy in them. I have some slim, straight leg jeans and love them . Hopefully the wide legs are a short lived trend. Is this a problem with petite women?
I am 5'2". I have to buy petite pants only, otherwise proportions are all wrong. Straight jeans work great for me. Maybe Instead of wide leg, try boot cut. Madewell jeans in petite have the best fit for me. Good luck!
I bought two new pairs of jeans so far this season. High rise wide leg and high rise straight, actually a little above my ankle. I'm thinking of turning them up even more and wearing with slouch cowboy boots? I'll have to try it on.🤔
I've been eying the Madewell Harlow trouser jeans. But I am thinking I may like the barrel style more - just want a very thin material for my next pair.
Just bought some wide leg pleated trouser jeans from express! They are so soft and amazing, but I'm going to have to get them hemmed (with the original hem).
Love trouser denim! I have a pair from LongvTall Sally foe our tall girls! I also love denim Bermuda shorts. I don't have as great of legs as Anna...so a little more coverage is my jam! ❤
Just came up on your Channel I'm so pleased about it. Thank you for enlightening us on the various Styles and giving us vendors that sell them. I loved your information🎉

As an hourglass/pear shape I am LOVING all the wide leg, straight, flare, literally anything but skinny, jeans! Haven’t worn skinny jeans in 2 years and hopefully never will again.
I completely agree! Wide leg was made for us. Skinny jeans are not flattering on me at all. I can't believe I lived in them for over a decade!
I agree. I felt like I looked like a lollipop in skinny jeans,
You can't be an hourglass and a pear at the same time but I understand what you're saying if you're an hourglass.
@@julieme7927 You can be both at the same time. It's called "bottom hourglass." That's what I am too!
Me too! I'm also a bottom hourglass. Anything but skinnies are flattering!
I stay with my high waisted skinny jeans and let the trend pass me by😂

Yes, the cropped jean, especially with the frayed edges needs to go away forever. Good luck finding jeans.
Being pear-shaped, I am loving the denim trends...bootcut, wide-leg and trouser jeans...love them all. Thanks for another great video!

This year I feel like dressing the Trend.... I like this wide leg trend kinda tired of skinny jeans and those were my thing!
I love these wide jeans - they make your waist look teeny and no muffin top.
PS. I sew and I’ve made a number of trouser jeans: I use trouser patterns and denim. They are my favourite in-between jeans and pants.

Re: barrel jeans, I am very petite but have wide hips, I won't be wearing barrel jeans but relaxed boyfriend jeans with rolled cuffs are surprisingly flattering on me
I remember cutting my jeans to make that split! 😂
I like your wide leg jeans!!
Saw a great pair of trouser jeans at Banana Republic
I have a pair of Sofia Vergara trouser jeans from Walmart that I just got and I love them so much!
You have really great taste Anna and you look amazing in the jeans you wore in this video, fab choice and you look so tall and slim x
I’m glad I didn’t throw out my pandemic-era barrel jeans 😅
I really think those will hang around for a while! ❤️❤️
Omg!! Tell us about your trip to my beloved Argentina! 🇦🇷❄️
I too always picture Britney and Justin when I hear denim on denim, haha. 🤣 Cute, though.
I love 90’s mid rise loose fit! But I’ve hung on to my flares.
I just got trouser jeans from walmart! Super cool
I have the Laura Conrad jeans from your earlier suggestion! Love them!
Also, you're presenting what to buy. We're mostly going to wear what we already have in our closet.
Anna! Thank you for using inclusive and diverse images as your stock photo examples! I saw one of my faves (Kellie B!) and it’s just so nice to see these trends and styles on all types of folks.
Love Kelly B! I find I'm always loving her style inspo ❤️
Boot cut are my favorite!
I have the split hem jeans from Express and I love them! I'm 5'9 and got the regular fit, so they may be a little long on you. If you wear heels or platform shoes you will probably be fine! I don't wear heels lol
The jeans look fantastic on you Anna! I have the total opposite body of you but I find it really cool, the type of styles you wear.
Thanks for showing us all the different options!
Great pieces Anna . You are so real and funny
I thrifted some Hudson jeans and they were my absolute favorite. Lasted me for years until I gained weight.
Got some of the trouser type jeans you asked about on Poshmark like 8 years ago cannot for the life of me remember what brand they were
I purchased a pair of looser wider leg jeans and I hate them.
Good luck!
Straight leg jeans
I bought two new pairs of jeans so far this season. High rise wide leg and high rise straight, actually a little above my ankle. I'm thinking of turning them up even more and wearing with slouch cowboy boots? I'll have to try it on.🤔
I am 5’2” 118 lbs and look best in a low rise. Zara has almost every fit of denim in low rise on their website for anyone else that prefers that.
I've been eying the Madewell Harlow trouser jeans. But I am thinking I may like the barrel style more - just want a very thin material for my next pair.
Thanks for the video. You Rock❤❤
In the 1960s the Hippies called wide leg jeans BELL BOTTOMS✌️
Just bought some wide leg pleated trouser jeans from express! They are so soft and amazing, but I'm going to have to get them hemmed (with the original hem).
Love trouser denim! I have a pair from LongvTall Sally foe our tall girls! I also love denim Bermuda shorts. I don't have as great of legs as Anna...so a little more coverage is my jam! ❤
I have a pair of two toned flares that I love. Thanks for sharing these trends.
LUV luv the looks especially the first 2 pairs! You look great in those styles!
Denim on denim is retro from the 70's.
Just came up on your Channel I'm so pleased about it. Thank you for enlightening us on the various Styles and giving us vendors that sell them. I loved your information🎉
