  • Patrick Walker's company, Works Racing, makes engine parts for Norton Manx 500s from the 1950's and 60's. His workshop is next to the home he shares with his wife, two children and two dogs, halfway along a muddy lane near Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
When the weather is fine, Mr. Walker throws open the double door of his south-facing workplace and sunshine illuminates a curiosity shop of engines, half-finished restorations, work-benches, vintage motorcycle memorabilia and a Haas Mini Mill 2.

Fabulous, and on my doorstep! What do your 500s produce? I have been chasing a similar goal for years (twin plug Thruxton). 😏

Wow, you are just round the corner from me! I'm a 50 year Velo Thruxton owner. What does your motor make?

Hmm now that's got me thinking - how much would it take to get the Percy Tait T100 into production

I was at Castle Coombe as a Marshal in 1967 68 69 and 70, and saw Percy on his Works Daytona 500. And then about 1969 on the Works Trident, where He left everyone in the dust and lapped at about 93mph.

I have a fair few close up photos of the details of the T100 and its resemblance to a standard machine pretty much stops beyond the outer, more visible cases. Met him a couple of times and attended talks he gave the owners club, that bike had to be designed and built without Turners knowledge or approval.
Too often I've thought I was born in the wrong era ;) So I only have books and pictures to refer to.
